Abstract

950,542. Container closures. FR. HESSER MASCHINENFABRIK A.G. March 5, 1962 [March 30, 1961], No. 8351/62. Headings B8P and B8T. An elongated dispensing opening 3 in a raised portion 2a of an end wall of a container is closed by a flexible tab 4 heat-sealed along lines 6a, 6b surrounding the opening. A lip 5 facilitates the pulling back of the tab 4 to the joint 6a to open the container. The joint 6a may be curved so that the tab 4 can be formed into a dispensing trough, Fig. 4. After breaking the seal the opening may be closed by depressing the tab into it. The end wall may be of polyethylene or a coating thereof on cardboard, and the tab may be of aluminium sheet which is similarly coated.
