Abstract

1,060,389. Tamperproof closures for pill dispensers. ABBOTT LABORATORIES. May 20, 1964 [May 20, 1963], No. 20874/64. Headings B8P and B8T. A tamperproof container 15 of resilient yieldable plastics material includes a skirt 14 and an upper wall 11 provided with a dispensing opening 10; an integrally moulded strip extending from the skirt base comprises a tear-away portion 35, a closure portion 21 eicluding a plug 22, and a hinge portion 26 including a lug 28. The container is sealed by bending the portions 35, 21 and 26 about axes 39 and 37 and pressing the portions 22 and 28 into the openings 10 and 30 respectively (Fig. 1). To use the container it is necessary to remove the portion 35 by pulling a tab 41 and by tearing along lines 37, 39. The remaining strip is then lifted at the end (42, Fig. 9) and pivots about a hinge (19, Fig. 9) to uncover the opening 10 (Fig. 9). The container has a sheet metal base with a bead (17, Fig. 9).
