Abstract
In order to prevent the accidental spilling of the contents of a container closed by a cap when the latter is opened, the withdrawal force necessary to start and continue the tearing of the cap is rendered minimised. Furthermore, at the end of the tearing off, only a narrow part which is easy to withdraw must remain on the container. To this end, the cap includes a pulling element (11), formed in one piece with the cap (1), which extends from the edge of a skirt (4) which is part of the cap. A tear-off line (18) starts on each side of the pulling element, continues across the skirt (4), then diverges at the rounded connection part (3) and extends in a circular manner over part of the periphery of the cap top (2). The cap is used in particular for closing bottles of sparkling drinks. <IMAGE>
