Abstract

1,270,403. Container closure; portable containers. J. MATZKA. 7 Aug., 1969 [8 Aug., 1968], No. 39515/69. Headings B8D and B8T. A container closure of elastomeric plastics material has a tubular shell wall 1 engageable with the mouth of a container opening, the area bounded by the shell wall 1 being covered by a membrane 2 provided with tearing tab means 17 connected by webs 18, 19 to two weakened portions 15, 16, of the membrane, the portions being defined by closed lines of weakness, e.g. by grooves 11, and being removable to expose an outlet and an air inlet in the membrane, which may be subsequently closed by a captive plug 3 having sealing ribs 6. The closure may snap-fit over a container neck, Fig. 4 (not shown), and be provided with a spout (27). A pipe 20 may be provided on the inlet portion of the membrane.
