Abstract

1370062 Tamper-proof closures BAXTER LABORATORIES Inc 4 Feb 1972 [3 March 1971] 5260/72 Heading B8T A plastics, re-usable, tamper-proof closure 16 for a container having contents which are to be maintained in a sterile condition comprises a tubular neck 26, with a male probe 24 which engages into a container outlet 12, and a closure incorporating a bung 42 and a cap 30 which is initially joined to the entire periphery of the neck by a frangible connection 28. The closure is re-usable as a plug, when this connection has been broken. A retaining strap 32 joins the cap 30 to the neck 26 and finger tabs 36, 46 are provided for opening and sealing the closure. Seals are formed by rings 44 and co-operating parts 54, 56 when the closure is re-used.
