Abstract

1,049,300. Container closures. PRODUCT DESIGN & ENGINEERING Inc. Dec. 10, 1964 [Dec. 11, 1963], No. 50425/64. Heading B8T. A two-piece closure for dispensing liquid comprises a screw-threaded cap 12 with a cylindrical neck 24 extending from an opening 16 and into which the hollow cylindrical part 34 of a stopper 32 slidably extends and makes sealing contact therewith. A pin 22 extending axially through the neck from a transverse bar 18 closes an axial outlet in the stopper when the latter is pushed to its lowermost position. A stopper flange 44 embraces the neck which is sealingly engaged by a rib 47 and flanges 36 and 40. A rib 26 projecting into the neck provides a stop to engage the flange 36 on the outward movement of the stopper.
