Abstract

1462251 Closure assembly CHEMTRUST INDUSTRIES CORP 18 April 1974 [23 April 1973] 17046/74 Heading B8T A closure assembly for a compressible liquid container or a non-compressible liquid or particle container comprises a flexible tube 34 formed a spout for dispensing the contents of the container 10 and movable between a storage position at which the tube is retracted into the container, and a dispensing position at which the table extends outward from the container. The tube is slidable within an aperture 32 formed in a disc shaped support member 22 and is mounted frictionally upon a lug 48 integral with a threaded cap 40. During assembly the tube 34 is passed into the container mouth; cap 40 is then screwed on to the container neck until an annular ridge 28 integral with support member 22 locks into a corresponding groove 18 on the inner surface of the container neck. A flange 30, integral with the support member engages the rim of the container neck and co-operates with the cap to form a seal. To dispense the cap is first unscrewed; the flexible tube 34 is then drawn by the cap through the aperture 32 until an annular collar 38 integral with the inner end 34b of the tube abuts the support member 22. The lug 48 is withdrawn from the outer end 34a of tube 34 which is then able to dispense from the container. Resealing of the container is carried out by a reversal of this procedure.
