Abstract

1,041,360. Dispensing closures. COLGATEPALMOLIVE CO. Aug. 13, 1965 [Dec. 8, 1964], No. 34816/65. Heading B8T. A dispensing closure for a liquid container includes an elastomeric plastics cap having through its top wall 6 a passage extending through an upstanding projection 24, with a stirrup 8 joined to the cap adjacent to the inner end of the passage by two diametrically opposed arms 10, 12 which are joined at their lower ends by a cross-piece 20 carrying a plug 22 axially aligned with the passage. An elastomeric plastics slider 26 slides snugly in the passage and has a discharge channel 28 to engage closely with the plug when the slider is pushed down, and a rib 30 to coact with a shoulder 32 in the projection 24 to prevent complete withdrawal of the slider. The cap may have an internal screw-thread 44 to secure it to the container, and an internal skirt 42 may provide a sealing means against the top of the container. The slider may be provided with a concave enlargement 40 to limit drippage.
