Abstract

986,969. Stoppers. D. BARANNE. Feb. 25, 1964 [April 9, 1963], No. 7752/64. Heading B8T. A stopper of plastics material for the threaded neck 2 of a flexible tubular container 1 comprises a tubular body 8 with an enlarged upper part 7 and a lower part with circumferentially spaced axial slots 10, within which fits an inner cylindrical tube 12 closed at its upper end 13 and with lateral openings 15, and a screw cap 16 with a central hole 19 forming an outlet for container material when the container is squeezed. When the cap is screwed down the hole is sealed by engagement with the end 13. The slotted part of the body 6 is forced outwards by the tube 12 and engages the container neck; a projection 14 of the tube engages below bosses 11 on the body. A shoulder 23 of the cap engages below the neck threads to prevent complete removal of the cap. An additional push-on cap 26 may be provided.
