683,553. Spouts for cans; collapsable tubes. DALE, Ltd., J., and GIBLIN, A. A. April 12, 1951 [April 12, 1950], No. 8992/50. Class 66 A collapsable tube or rigid container 9 having a centrally located opening 10 in the end thereof has a nozzle or spout formed of a tube 1 of plastic material which is not completely rigid but retains a slight resiliency so that after being forced a predetermined distance through the opening the portion of the tube forced through the opening expands (as shown at 6) whilst an enlargement 2 on the end of the tube bears against the container on the opposite side of the opening. The container is provided with a recess 11 to receive the enlargement 2 and the recess may be milled or roughened to prevent rotation of the nozzle. The end of the nozzle may be threaded to receive a screw cap and conical surfaces to facilitate entering the nozzle provided on it and on the container as shown.
