Abstract

1,158,188. Container closures. M. B. STULL. 18 April, 1967 [29 Dec., 1966], No. 17835/67. Heading B8T. A dispensing closure comprises a tubular body 16 integral with a container 12, or a part joined to a container, and having a helical surface 34 formed on its top edge, and cap 22 having a co-operating surface 36, the cap 22 being axially movable on the body 16 by means of the parts 34, 36 from a closure position where a pin 28 fills an aperture 26 in the cap, to an open position, Fig. 2 (not shown). The cap may have a screw thread 20 co-operating with a similar thread 18 on the body 16 and may be held releasably closed by means of ribs 54, 56 on the body and cap respectively. The helical surface 34 may be continuous around the rim, Figs. 8, 10 (not shown), or in two halves, and in either case stops 58, 38 are provided to prevent the cap being unscrewed beyond the end of the surface 34.
