Abstract

1,094,588. Container closures. BETTIX Ltd. Nov. 22, 1966 [Nov. 25, 1965], No. 50193/65. Heading B8T. A container closure comprises a plastics partspherical valve member 8 having an integral pin 11 press-fitted into and slidable along a radial slot 7 of a correspondingly shaped part-spherical depression 5 in a boss 4 on the top 2 of a container 1, in the position shown the valve 8 uncovering a dispensing opening 5. The valve 8 may be slidden to a position generally parallel to the container top 2, so that its pin 11 is parallel to the main axis of the container 1, Fig. 5 (not shown), when it closes the dispensing opening 5. The valve member 8 acts as a pouring spout. The container top 2 may be of tin, plastics or waxed cardboard.
