Abstract

873,706. Packages ; cartons. RHODES, G. R. Oct. 16, 1959 [Oct. 20, 1958], No. 33358/58. Classes 18 and 94(1). A carton for liquids, of the kind having a pressout portion to enable the contents to be dispensed, has a separate compartment adjacent the dispensing opening containing an additive which is released into the carton by the press-out operation. A cup-shaped container 15 may be secured internally or externally of the carton over the usual press-out. flap 14, the base of the container being weakened peripherally at 19 to permit contents discharge. The entire container may become detached in the case where it is internal. A separate closed container having opposed press-out portions may be secured to the carton with the portions aligned with a dispensing opening. The carton may contain a drink to which an effervescing agent is added or the like compartment may contain flavouring, &c. for dissolving in water in the carton.
