A closure and dispensing device for a container comprises a spout 3 with closed end and having formed in its wall grooves 4, 5, 6 so that the size of aperture may be chosen by cutting along one of the grooves. As shown in Fig. 1, the spout forms an integral part of a screw cap. In a modification the spout forms an insert secured to the container neck by an apertured screw cap and in a further modification, Fig. III, an insert 15 with grooves 16, 17, 18 has annular projections 19, 20 between which is held the turned lip 21 around a circular aperture in the end 22 of the container.
