Abstract
890,932. Pouring spouts for containers. DIE DESIGN PTY Ltd. April 25, 1960, No. 14378/60. Class 66. A retractable spout for a container is formed of a resilient plastics material, e.g. polyethylene, and has at its inner end at least two external circumferential grooves which releasably engage the edge of the container outlet, the diameter of the circumference formed by the base of the inner groove 17 being greater than that of the outer groove 16. A screw cover 9 seats on the flanged end of the spout which acts as a packing washer. In a modification the spout has an inward dimple in its wall to act as a finger grip and the outward end of the spout is sealed initially by a thin web which is torn off before use, Fig. 5 (not shown). The spout may be curved ; it may have tapering walls; and it may be non-rotatable in its extended position.
