Abstract

1,049,225. Dispensing fittings for containers. BAKELITE XYLONITE Ltd. July 27, 1965 [Aug. 1, 1964], No. 30404/64. Heading B8T. The orifice 9 of a thermoplastic dispensing fitting is defined by an upstanding flange 16 which is resiliently deformed when a cap 12 is pressed over the spigot 8 of the fitting, thereby sealing the orifice. In the form shown the cap, which is retained by a strap 13, has a sealing pip 15 to enter the orifice, and may be releasably trapped in its closed position by the mating of a rib 11 on the spigot with an internal annular groove on the cap. The dispensing fitting may be integral with the container, but as shown has a plug 5 retained in a plastics bottle 1 by ribs 6 on the bottle neck 2, a rib 7 further resisting plug withdrawal.
