Abstract
1,238,055. Container closures. O. H. DRAGER. 20 Sept., 1968 [20 Sept., 1967], No. 44958/68. Heading B8T. [Also in Division A5] An anaesthetic vaporizer (see Division A5) is filled from an anaesthetic supply bottle 22 having a closure 24, 24a, Figs. 3, 4, respectively, with a protuberance 28 to open a valve 15 (Figs. 1, 2, not shown) in a filling duct. The closure may screw on a bottle and be sealed in place by a sealing element 25, Fig. 3. Alternatively, it may be a push fit in the neck of the bottle with a separate fastening cap 35, Fig. 4, having a screw-thread which engages bottle screwthread 36. In use element 31 seals the protuberance against the duct; with the bottle inverted, anaesthetic leaves via bores 29, 30 in the protuberance, and air enters the bottle via bore 32 and nozzle 34 in the closure.
