Abstract

879,330. Stoppers. STEWART, C. E. Nov. 12, 1959 [Nov. 26, 1958], No.38466/59. Class 125(3). A closure comprises a cap having a dependant skirt 10, the inner surface 12 of which is provided with lugs 18 engageable with channels formed in the neck 13 of the container. The channels comprise an entrance groove 14 open at one end to the surface 8 of the neck either directly or by means of a lead-in groove 15. A branch groove 16 extends from the other end of the groove 14 and leads to a blind-ended groove 17. The closure includes a sealing disc 19 and a compression spring 20 placed between the top of the cap and the disc. In a modification the groove channels may be formed in the cap surface 12 and the lugs project from the neck surface 13 of the container.
