Abstract

UN REACTOR DE HIDROGENACION TIPICO, CONSISTE EN UN TANQUE LLENO DE UN LIQUIDO, UN GAS, Y UN CATALIZADOR DE PEQUEÑAS PARTICULAS. LA REACCION SE LLEVA A CABO A ELEVADAS PRESIONES Y TEMPERATURAS. LA FALTA DE GAS EN LA SUPERFICIE DEL CATALIZADOR, LIMITA LA VELOCIDAD DE LA REACCION, POR LO QUE SE HA TRABAJADO MUCHO PARA AUMENTAR LA CANTIDAD DE GAS SOBRE EL CATALIZADOR, SIN QUE HAYA SIDO POSIBLE AUN RESOLVER ESTE PROBLEMA DE FORMA EFECTIVA, CON LAS TECNICAS ACTUALES. DE ACUERDO CON LA INVENCION, SE AÑADE UN DISOLVENTE EXTRA A LA MEZCLA DE REACCION, Y SE SOMETE LA MEZCLA COMPLETA (DISOLVENTE, SUSTRATO, HIDROGENO, Y PRODUCTOS DE REACCION), A UN ESTADO SUPER-CRITICO, O PROXIMO AL SUPER-CRITICO, OBTENIENDOSE ASI UNA MEZCLA SUSTANCIALMENTE HOMOGENEA. MEDIANTE DICHO METODO, SE PUEDE CONTROLAR LA CONCENTRACION DE GAS SOBRE EL CATALIZADOR, HASTA EL NIVEL DESEADO, INCREMENTANDOSE POR TANTO LA VELOCIDAD DE LA REACCION CONSIDERABLEMENTE. LAS REACCIONES DE HIDROGENACION PRINCIPALMENTE IMPLICADAS, COMPRENDENLA HIDROGENACION DE DOBLES ENLACES CARBONO-CARBONO (C=C) EN LIPIDOS; HIDROGENACION DE COOR A HO-R, PARA PRODUCIR ALCOHOLES ACIDOS; Y LA HIDROGENACION DIRECTA DE OXIGENO A PEROXIDO DE HIDROGENO.
