PROCEDIMIENTO PARA LA DESCOMPOSICION CATALITICA DE UN AGENTE OXIDANTE, ESPECIALMENTE HIPOCLORITO, PARA EL TRATAMIENTO DE EFLUENTES EN DONDE SE DESCOMPONE UN AGENTE OXIDANTE EN EL EFLUENTE TRAS EL CONTACTO CON UN LECHO DE CATALIZADOR. EL AGENTE OXIDANTE PUEDE SER UN CONTAMINANTE PRESENTE EN EL EFLUENTE, POR EJEMPLO HIPOCLORITO DEL EFLUENTE PROCEDENTE DE CUBAS DE ELECTROLISIS DE SALMUERA PARA PRODUCIR CLORO O PROCEDENTE DEL LAVADO DE CLORO GASEOSO. ALTERNATIVAMENTE, EL EFLUENTE PUEDE CONTENER CONTAMINANTES OXIDABLES Y EL AGENTE OXIDANTE SE AÑADE DE FORMA PREMEDITADA AL MISMO. EL PASO SOBRE EL LECHO CATALITICO CATALIZA LA DESCOMPOSICION DEL AGENTE OXIDANTE Y CONTAMINANTE OXIDABLES. EL LECHO CATALITICO COMPRENDE UNA MEZCLA INTIMA DE UN OXIDO DEL GRUPO III, OXIDO DE NIQUEL Y, OPCIONALMENTE, OXIDO DE COBALTO, SOPORTADO SOBRE PIEZAS DE UN MATERIAL NO POROSO PRACTICAMENTE INERTE.
