Definitions

  • the invention relates to a label suction device for a container labeling machine.
  • the invention also relates to a labeling machine for labeling containers.
  • Labeling machines for labeling containers are well known from the prior tech technology, especially in the beverage industry, in a wide variety of implementation variants.
  • a labeling machine is usually equipped with a transport device, in particular a transport carousel, by means of which the containers to be labeled are transported through the machine.
  • the containers are transported on the transport device of a container labeling machine, due to a small (machine) division of the transport device, with a small distance from one another.
  • machine a small division of the transport device
  • labeling animal machines that work with two or more labeling stations to achieve high machine performance or high throughput and in which only each container transported on the transport device is labeled depending on the number n of labeling stations, have adjacent containers on the transport device a small distance to each other.
  • the labels to be applied to the containers often have a length which is greater than the distance caused by the (machine) division of the transport device, which two adjacent containers have to one another on the transport device. This is particularly the case with wrap-around labels - that is, labels that enclose the entire circumference of a container - often the case, since such labels typically have a great length.
  • a label suction device is used in the prior art, which has a label guide provided with bleed suction openings and a label section protruding from a container or not yet resting on the container the label guide sucks.
  • the suction pressure is generated by means of a vacuum pump.
  • said label section is guided along the label guide during the transport of the container on the transport device (on part of the transport path) and kept away from the subsequent container.
  • a labeling machine with such a label suction device is disclosed, for example, in the German utility model DE 202017 101 952 U1, where the label suction device is referred to as a “vacuum board”.
  • the label suction device can have a single suction segment for providing suction pressure on the label guide.
  • the label suction device can have several suction segments / chambers arranged one behind the other in the longitudinal direction of the label guide and separated from one another by partition walls to provide suction pressure on the label guide, in particular in order to achieve the most directed, low-turbulence air flow behind the label guide and thus the most homogeneous possible suction.
  • the invention is based on the object of providing a device for labeling containers comprising a plurality of suction segments, by means of which improved suction conditions for a label section to be suctioned can be achieved during its transport along a label guide.
  • this object is achieved in each case by a label suction device according to claim 1 and by a labeling machine according to claim 15.
  • the label suction device has a label guide provided with suction openings bleed through and a plurality of suction segments arranged on the label guide for providing suction pressure on the label guide.
  • the suction segments are arranged one behind the other in the longitudinal direction of the label guide and a partition wall is arranged between each adjacent suction segment.
  • the label suction device has a pressure influencing unit for influencing pressure in at least one of the suction segments and at least one further pressure influencing unit for influencing pressure in at least one other of the suction segments.
  • the invention is based on the knowledge that in a label suction device according to the prior art, which has several suction segments on its label guide for providing suction pressure on the label guide and which has a common vacuum pump for all suction segments for generating the suction pressure, the suction conditions for a Label section to be sucked on vary, depending on the extent to which the label section covers one of the suction segments. As soon as in such a label suction device, for example, a label section sucked onto the label guide completely covers a suction segment, no more air can flow into the completely covered suction segment via the label guide.
  • suction pressure on the other suction segments changes.
  • suction pressures that vary on the individual suction segments act on a label section to be suctioned during its transport along the label guide, depending on which of the suction segments are covered to what extent.
  • the label suction device has a pressure influencing unit for influencing pressure in at least one of the suction segments and at least one further pressure influencing unit for influencing pressure in at least one other of the suction segments.
  • the label suction device has several pressure influencing units, namely at least one pressure influencing unit for at least one of the suction segments and at least one other pressure influencing unit for at least one other one of the suction segments.
  • the pressure in the suction segments can be set or controlled in such a way that the degree to which a suction segment is covered by a label section does not automatically affect the suction conditions, in particular the suction pressure, at all other suction segments.
  • improved, in particular less strongly varying suction conditions can be achieved for a label section to be suctioned during its transport along a label guide.
  • a pressure influencing unit in the context of the invention is to be understood as a device with which the pressure in one or more of the suction segments can be influenced or adjusted.
  • a pressure influencing unit can be or comprise a pump, a valve, a nozzle or another fluid-technical device. In a preferred manner, different pressure influencing units are provided for influencing pressure in each case for two adjacent suction segments.
  • the label suction device has at least three, in particular at least four suction segments. It is also advantageous if the label suction device has a maximum of eight, in particular a maximum of six suction segments.
  • the label guide preferably has at least partially a curved or curved shape. It is particularly preferred if the radius of curvature of the label chain guide corresponds essentially to the radius of a transport carousel of the labeling machine in which the label suction device is used.
  • the phrase “essentially” is to be understood in such a way that the radius of curvature of the label guide can deviate by up to 10%, preferably by up to 5%, from the radius of the transport carousel.
  • the label suction device has a common pressure influencing unit for at least two of the suction segments.
  • This has the advantage that the number of pressure-influencing units can be smaller than the number of suction segments, whereby, for example, a space-saving and inexpensive design of the label suction device can be achieved.
  • at least one other suction segment is expediently arranged, for which a different pressure influencing unit is provided.
  • the label suction device has its own pressure influencing unit for each of the suction segments.
  • This enables the pressure in each of the suction segments to be set independently of the pressure in the other suction segments, which enables the suction pressure to be flexibly adjusted.
  • the pressure in the suction segments can be adjusted, for example, in such a way that the suction conditions, in particular the suction pressure, at the individual suction segments are largely independent of the degree of obscuration of the other suction segments.
  • At least one of the pressure influencing units can be designed as a nozzle unit, for example, which is set up to emit a pressure fluid jet, preferably a compressed air jet, in order to generate suction pressure on the label guide according to the jet pump principle.

  • the label suction device can have a common vacuum pump for several of the pressure control units designed as throttle valves, in particular for all of the pressure control units designed as throttle valves, to which vacuum pump the pressure control units designed as throttle valves are connected.
  • said vacuum pump is preferably operated at a predetermined pump output.
  • the throttle valves are matched to the vacuum pump or to the pumping power in such a way that, when the vacuum pump is operated at the specified pumping power and the suction segments are not at least partially covered by one or more labels, the volume flow that is generated by the respective throttle valve is let through, lies in the saturation range of the respective throttle valve.
