  • connection head 94 has a seal 88 which is arranged outside the glue supply 91 on the riser 95, see above that glue can be removed from the glue supply via the conveying line 41.
  • FIGs 8a to 8d are various schematic representations of a glue circuit for the supply of a glue application member arranged in the housing 4, with which strips of material from the tobacco processing industry, in particular paper webs, are provided with glue or with a glue pattern.
  • a glue circuit for the supply of a glue application member arranged in the housing 4, with which strips of material from the tobacco processing industry, in particular paper webs, are provided with glue or with a glue pattern.
  • different operating modes are shown.
  • the supply line for glue into the housing 4 or to the glue application element in the housing 4 has two controllable valves 111, 112.
  • the discharge line 45 leading back to the glue supply 40 also has two valves 113, 114 arranged in series Discharge line 45 is formed between the valves 111 and 112 and between the valves 113 and 114 of the discharge line 115, a further connecting line 120, a valve 121, in particular a control valve, being arranged in the connecting line 120.
  • different operating modes are possible.
  • FIG 8a the operating situation is shown in which the gluing apparatus with the housing 4 is mounted or used on the machine, for this purpose the housing 4 is filled with glue on the suction side until a level sensor detects a predetermined glue level in the housing 4, so that the Feed pump 42 is switched off.
  • the valve 112 and 113 is in the blocking position, the valves 111, 121 and 114 being switched to the open position, so that when the feed pump 42 is switched on, glue is conveyed from the glue supply 40 into the housing 4 until a corresponding glue level is reached in the housing.
  • FIG. 8b The production situation is in Figure 8b shown schematically.
  • the valves 111, 112 in the supply line 43 are switched to the open position.
  • the valves 113, 114 in the discharge line 45 are also switched to the open position.
  • the valve 121 is in the blocking position, so that no glue is conveyed from the feed pump 42 to the discharge line 45.
  • glue is conveyed from the glue supply 40 into the housing 4 or to the glue application element, so that by means of the glue application element Glue patterns are applied to a material web, in particular a paper web, in order to glue covering paper leaves, for example on a filter attachment machine.
  • the glue that has not been used is pumped out of the housing 4 via the discharge line with the valves 113, 114 switched to the passage and the suction pump 46 switched on, back into the glue supply 40.
  • the devices are operated according to the in Figure 8c mode shown.
  • glue is first conveyed away in the supply line 43 and glue on the pressure side from the glue application element.
  • the pressure pump 42 is switched off while the suction pump 46 is switched on.
  • the valves 111 and 114 are in the blocking position, so that when the valves 112, 121 and 113 are switched on, ie switched to the open position, glue is fed back from the pressure side of the gluing apparatus out of the housing 4 into the glue supply 40.
  • the pressure pump 42 is switched off and the valves 111, 112 and 121 are switched to the blocking position.
  • the valves 113, 114 are open and the suction pump 46 is switched on, glue is fed back from the suction side of the housing 4 into the glue supply, with the suction pump 46 in particular being switched on for a predetermined period of time in order to remove a corresponding predetermined amount of glue from the housing 4.
  • the suction pump 46 is then switched off and the valves 113, 114 switched to the blocking position, so that the covering apparatus with its housing 4 can be separated from the lines 43 and 45, and an almost glue-free gluing apparatus, ie little Glue is located in the housing 4, can be dismantled from the machine.
