Dispositif pour préparer un matériau d'étoupe pour filtre pour la fabrication de filtres destinés à des articles à fumer en forme de bâtonnets tels que par exemple des cigarettes, comprenant des moyens de mise à disposition d'étoupe pour filtre (7) pour fournir au moins deux bandes d'étoupe pour filtre (4, 6), au moins deux chemins de guidage d'étoupe (2, 3), une bande d'étoupe pour filtre (4, 6) étant guidée dans chaque chemin de guidage d'étoupe (2, 3), et des dispositifs de traitement (24, 44) pour traiter les bandes d'étoupe pour filtre (4, 6), un dispositif de traitement propre (26, 28, 30, 49 ; 27, 29, 31, 50) étant associé à chaque chemin de guidage d'étoupe (2, 3), ledit dispositif pouvant être commandé séparément, chaque dispositif de traitement comportant des moyens (26, 28, 30, 49 ; 27, 29, 31, 50) pour étaler, étirer et/ou traiter le matériau d'étoupe pour filtre, caractérisé en ce qu'à chaque chemin de guidage d'étoupe (2, 3) sont associés des moyens (26, 28, 30, 49 ; 27, 29, 31, 50) pour étaler, étirer et/ou traiter le matériau d'étoupe pour filtre, et en ce que les moyens pour étaler, les moyens pour étirer et/ou les moyens pour traiter forment respectivement une unité dans laquelle ils sont disposés côte à côte transversalement à la direction des chemins de guidage d'étoupe (2,3), chaque moyen pour étaler et/ou pour étirer comprenant une première, une deuxième, une troisième et une quatrième paire de rouleaux d'étirage (28, 30 ; 29, 31) montée sur un côté et entraînée par des moyens d'entraînement associés, les paires de rouleaux d'étirage (28, 29, 30, 31) des moyens pour étaler et/ou étirer formant une unité étant montées côte à côte de manière coaxiale, et à chaque paire de rouleaux d'étirage (28, 29, 30, 31) étant associé un dispositif d'entraînement propre pouvant être commandé séparément.
  2. Dispositif selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que chaque première, deuxième, troisième et quatrième paire de rouleaux d'étirage (28, 29, 30, 31) comprend un rouleau de plus faible épaisseur et de plus petit diamètre et un rouleau de plus forte épaisseur et de plus grand diamètre.
  3. Dispositif selon la revendication 2, caractérisé en ce que le rouleau de plus faible épaisseur de chaque paire de rouleaux d'étirage (28, 29, 30, 31) est en acier et qu'il est entraîné par le mécanisme d'entraînement associé.
  4. Dispositif selon la revendication 2 ou 3, caractérisé en ce que le rouleau de plus forte épaisseur est réalisé en tant que rouleau de caoutchouc ou en ce qu'il est pourvu d'un revêtement extérieur en caoutchouc.
  5. Dispositif selon l'une des revendications 2 à 4, caractérisé en ce que le rouleau de plus forte épaisseur est monté sans entraînement et en ce qu'il peut être réglé séparément par des organes de commande, transversalement à son axe de rotation.
  6. Dispositif selon l'une des revendications 2 à 5, caractérisé en ce que les rouleaux de plus forte épaisseur sont suspendus individuellement afin d'agir séparément sur la pression d'appui.
  7. Dispositif selon l'une des revendications 1 à 6, caractérisé en ce que le premier rouleau (29a) de la paire de rouleaux extérieure est monté sur un premier arbre (34) et le premier rouleau (28a) de la paire de rouleaux intérieure est monté sur un premier tube (36) au travers duquel s'étend le premier arbre (34).
  8. Dispositif selon la revendication 7, caractérisé en ce que le deuxième rouleau de la paire de rouleaux extérieure est monté sur un deuxième arbre et le deuxième rouleau de la paire de rouleaux intérieure est monté sur un deuxième tube au travers duquel s'étend le deuxième arbre.
  9. Dispositif selon la revendication 8, caractérisé en ce qu'au moins les rouleaux de la paire de rouleaux intérieure sont réalisés en tant que cylindres creux.
  10. Dispositif selon au moins l'une des revendications précédentes, caractérisé en ce qu'est prévu à l'extrémité de chaque chemin de guidage d'étoupe un dispositif de prélèvement séparé qui comporte de préférence un tambour pousseur ou une araignée de transfert, pour changer le sens de déplacement des bâtonnets d'étoupe pour filtre découpés, depuis un sens de déplacement orienté dans le sens de leur longueur dans un sens de déplacement transversal à leur longueur, et commander différentes unités de mèches de filtre ou machines à fabriquer des cigarettes.
  11. Dispositif de fabrication de filtres pour articles à fumer en forme de bâtonnets, comprenant un dispositif selon au moins l'une des revendications précédentes, un dispositif de gainage pour envelopper d'un matériau de gainage les bandes d'étoupe pour filtre et un dispositif d'encollage pour coller le matériau de gainage, caractérisé en ce que le dispositif d'encollage comporte des premiers moyens d'application d'une colle à prise lente, en particulier une colle à froid, et des seconds moyens d'application d'une colle à prise rapide, en particulier une colle thermofusible.
