Abstract
Es werden Verfahren und Vorrichtungen zur Erzeugung von Wasserstoff aus schweren Kohlenwasserstoffen (>C8) durch katalytische partielle Dehydrierung mittels eines mindestens ein Edelmetall (2, 3) enthaltenden Katalysators beschrieben. Erfindungsgemäß ist es vorgesehen, dass der Katalysator zusätzlich eine oder mehrere der Substanzen (4, 5, 6) : Ni, Ce, Sn, Zr, Ti enthält, welche den Katalysator vor einer Vergiftung von in den Kohlenwasserstoffen enthaltenem Schwefel schützen.
Description
Erzeugung von Wasserstoff aus schweren Kohlenwasserstoffen
Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Erzeugung von Wasserstoff aus schweren Kohlenwasserstoffen durch katalytische partielle Dehydrierung mittels eines mindestens ein Edelmetall enthaltenden Katalysators, sowie eine Vorrichtung zur Erzeugung von Wasserstoff aus schweren Kohlenwasserstoffen durch katalytische partielle Dehydrierung, mit einem Katalysator, der mindestens ein Edelmetall enthält.
Eine katalytische Erzeugung von Wasserstoff aus schweren Kohlenwasserstoffen (>C8) ist insbesondere von Interesse zur Erzeugung von Wasserstoff aus beispielsweise Flugkraftstoffen oder Diesel.
Bisher ist keine Möglichkeit der Erzeugung von Wasserstoff aus schweren Kohlenwasserstoffen durch partielles Dehydheren bekannt, bei der kohlenmonoxidfreier Wasserstoff beispielsweise aus Flugkraftstoffen oder Diesel erzeugt werden kann. Von wesentlicher Bedeutung sind im Kraftstoff vorhandene Bestandteile an Schwefel, welche zu einer alsbaldigen Vergiftung des Katalysators führen. Bisher bekannte Prozesse für die Wasserstofferzeugung aus Flugkraftstoffen erfordern zwei separate katalytische Einheiten. Erst wird in einer katalytischen Hydroentschwefelung (HDS = Hydrodesulphurization) der Kraftstoff von Thiophenen und Abkömmlingen gereinigt. In einer zweiten Stufe wird der Kraftstoff katalytisch trocken oder oxidierend reformiert.
Alle bekannten Reformierungsverfahren wie Dampfreformierung, partielle Oxidation oder autothermes Reformieren benötigen eine Zuführung eines Oxidationsmittels. Das Produkt ist Wasserstoff zusammen mit Wasser, CO, CO2. Die Reaktionen finden statt bei Temperaturen um 1.0000C.
Partielle Dehydrierung wird typischerweise über Palladium- oder Platinkatalysatoren durchgeführt, ohne dass zusätzlich Stoffe zugeführt werden müssen. Der in Form der
schweren Kohlenwasserstoffe vorliegende Brennstoff wird partiell dehydriert und bildet ungesättigte Kohlenwasserstoffe. Beispielsweise wird Paraffin übergeführt zu Olefin und Wasserstoff.
Ein großer Vorteil der partiellen Dehydrierung im Vergleich zu anderen Reformierungsverfahren liegt darin, dass kein Kohlenmonoxid im Produkt enthalten ist. Schwierigkeiten des herkömmlichen Verfahrens aber sind, dass die erforderliche zusätzliche HDS-Stufe einen zusätzlichen Aufwand an Kosten und Energie erfordert, sowie zusätzlich eine Zufuhr von Wasserstoff. Die bekannten Reformierungsverfahren (Dampfreformierung, autothermes Reformieren und partielle Oxidation) benötigen weitere Reaktanden und produzieren unerwünschte Nebenprodukte wie CO und CO2. Palladium- und Platin-Katalysatoren sind bekannt dafür, dass sie durch den im Kraftstoff enthaltenen Schwefel schnell vergiften, wie schon oben erwähnt (im Flugkraftstoff Jet A1 sind nach ASTM bis 3.000 ppm Schwefel enthalten).
Die Aufgabe der Erfindung ist es, ein verbessertes Verfahren zur Erzeugung von Wasserstoff aus schweren Kohlenwasserstoffen durch katalytische partielle Dehydrierung zu schaffen. Weiterhin soll eine verbesserte Vorrichtung für eine solche katalytische partielle Dehydrierung angegeben werden.
Die Aufgabe wird gelöst durch ein Verfahren zur Erzeugung von Wasserstoff aus schweren Kohlenwasserstoffen durch katalytische partielle Dehydrierung gemäß dem Anspruch 1. Weiterhin wird die Aufgabe gelöst durch eine Vorrichtung zur Erzeugung von Wasserstoff aus schweren Kohlenwasserstoffen durch katalytische partielle Dehydrierung mit den Merkmalen des Anspruchs 9. Vorteilhafte Ausführungsformen und Weiterbildungen der Erfindung sind in den jeweiligen Unteransprüchen angegeben.
Durch die Erfindung wird ein Verfahren zur Erzeugung von Wasserstoff aus schweren Kohlenwasserstoffen durch katalytische partielle Dehydrierung mittels eines mindestens ein Edelmetall enthaltenden Katalysators geschaffen.
Erfindungsgemäß ist es vorgesehen, dass der Katalysator zusätzlich eine oder mehrere der Substanzen: Ni, Ce, Sn, Zr, Ti enthält.
Das Edelmetall des Katalysators kann Palladium und/oder Platin umfassen.
Insbesondere können mit dem erfindungsgemäßen Verfahren schwefelhaltige Kohlenwasserstoffe dehydriert werden.
Von besonderem Vorteil ist es, dass die katalytische Dehydrierung der schweren Kohlenwasserstoffe unmittelbar in einem einstufigen Prozess erfolgen kann.
Die katalytische Dehydrierung kann bei Temperaturen unter 900 K erfolgen.
Die katalytische Dehydrierung kann bei Temperaturen ab 473 K erfolgen.
Von Vorteil ist, dass der Katalysator regeneriert werden kann.
Das Regenerieren kann bei erhöhter Temperatur in einer sauerstoffhaltigen oder wasserstoffhaltigen Atmosphäre erfolgen.
Weiter wird durch die Erfindung eine Vorrichtung zur Erzeugung von Wasserstoff aus schweren Kohlenwasserstoffen durch katalytische partielle Dehydrierung geschaffen, welche eine Zuführeinrichtung zum Liefern schwerer Kohlenwasserstoffe und einen Katalysator aufweist, der mindestens ein Edelmetall enthält. Gemäß der Erfindung ist es vorgesehen, dass der Katalysator zusätzlich eine oder mehrere der Substanzen: Ni, Ce, Sn, Zr, Ti enthält.
Die erfindungsgemäße Vorrichtung ist zum Durchführen des erfindungsgemäßen Verfahrens ausgebildet.
Das Edelmetall des Katalysators kann Palladium und/oder Platin umfassen.
Gemäß einer vorteilhaften Ausführungsform des Katalysators ist dieser durch ein Trägermaterial gebildet, das das Edelmetall und die mindestens eine zusätzliche Substanz trägt.
Das Trägermaterial hat vorteilhafterweise eine hohe spezifische Oberfläche.
Das Trägermaterial kann AI2O3, TiO2, SiO2 oder Aktivkohle sein, oder ein anderes geeignetes Material.
Die zusätzlichen Substanzen können in metallischer Form vorgesehen sein.
Alternativ oder zusätzlich können die zusätzlichen Substanzen in Form von Salzen vorgesehen sein.
Die Salze können Chloride, Nitrate oder Acetate sein, oder andere geeignete Salze.
Die zusätzlichen Substanzen können in Form von Clustern vorgesehen sein.
Die Cluster können im Trägermaterial eingebettet sein.
Alternativ oder zusätzlich können die Cluster im Edelmetall eingebettet sein.
Die zusätzlichen Substanzen können auch oder zusätzlich in Form einer Legierung mit dem Edelmetall vorgesehen sein.
Die zusätzlichen Substanzen können in Form einer Beschichtung auf dem Trägermaterial vorgesehen sein.
Der Katalysator kann in Form von Pellets oder Ringen vorgesehen sein.
Der Katalysator kann in Form von Pulver oder Washcoat vorgesehen sein.
Die Vorrichtung ist vorzugsweise zur Erzeugung von Wasserstoff aus üblichen Flug- und Fahrzeug kraftstoffen vorgesehen. Die Zuführeinrichtung ist daher vorzugsweise zum Liefern von Flug kraftstoffen, wie Kerosin, oder von Diesel oder Benzin ausgebildet. Z.B. ist die Vorrichtung an Bord eines Fahrzeugs oder Luftfahrtgeräts angeordnet und an den Kraftstofftank angeschlossen.
Im Folgenden werden Ausführungsbeispiele der Erfindung anhand der Zeichnung erläutert:
Figur 1 zeigt drei Ausführungsbeispiele eines erfindungsgemäßen Katalysators zur Erzeugung von Wasserstoff aus schweren Kohlenwasserstoffen durch katalytische partielle Dehydrierung.
Figur 2 zeigt ein Ausführungsbeispiel einer Vorrichtung zur Erzeugung von Wasserstoff aus Kraftstoff an Bord eines Luftfahrzeugs.
Durch den Katalysator können schwere Kohlenwasserstoffe (>C8), insbesondere solche, welche Schwefel komponenten enthalten, beispielsweise Flugkraftstoffe unter Erzeugung von Wasserstoff dehydriert werden, ohne dass eine zusätzliche Stufe zur Hydroentschwefelung (Hydrodesulfurization = HDS) notwendig wäre. Die Entschwefelung erfolgt zusammen mit der Dehydrierung in einer gemeinsamen Stufe. Die Wasserstofferzeugung durch katalytische Dehydrierung kann erfolgen bei Vorliegen der schweren Kohlenwasserstoffe in Gas- oder Flüssigphase oder auch im superkritischen Zustand. Der erzeugte Wasserstoff besitzt eine hohe Reinheit und steht für eine Vielzahl von Anwendungen zur Verfügung.
Die katalytische Dehydrierung kann bei Temperaturen unter 900 K erfolgen, ab 473 K ist die katalytische partielle Dehydrierung bereits möglich.
Der Katalysator kann regeneriert werden, beispielsweise bei erhöhter Temperatur in einer sauerstoffhaltigen Atmosphäre, beispielsweise auch bei Temperaturen ab 473 K.
Das Katalysator umfasst ein Edelmetall in Form von Palladium oder Platin oder beidem und eine oder mehrere zusätzliche Substanzen. Diese zusätzlichen Substanzen können sein Ni, Ce, Sn, Zr, Ti. Die zusätzlichen Substanzen, welche in Form von Salzen und/oder Metallen vorliegen können, haben einerseits die Funktion, dass sie den Katalysator chemisch stabilisieren, und zum anderen, dass sie die Dehydrierung und den HDS-Prozess, welche gemeinsam ablaufen, fördern. Der Katalysator wird dabei durch die Wirkung der zusätzlichen Substanzen nicht durch den in den schweren Kohlenwasserstoffen enthaltenen Schwefel vergiftet.
In der Figur 1 sind drei Ausführungsbeispiele eines solchen Katalysators 10 gezeigt. Es ist jeweils ein Trägermaterial 1 vorgesehen, welches das Edelmetall 2, 3 und die mindestens eine zusätzliche Substanz 4, 5, 6 trägt. Das Trägermaterial 1 weist eine hohe spezifische Oberfläche auf, d.h. es hat ein großes Verhältnis von Oberfläche zu Volumen. Das Trägermaterial 1 kann beispielsweise AI2O3, TiO2, SiO2 oder Aktivkohle sein.
Das Ausführungsbeispiel gemäß Figur 1 a) enthält auf dem Trägermaterial 1 den Katalysator 10 in Form von Platin, sowie als zusätzliche Substanzen 4 in Form von Zinn in oxidierter Form.
Bei dem Ausführungsbeispiel gemäß Figur 1 b) ist zusätzlich metallisches Zinn in Form von Clustern 5 vorgesehen, welche hier in das Metall 2 des Katalysators 10 eingebettet sind.
Bei dem Ausführungsbeispiel gemäß Figur 1 c) schließlich ist die zusätzliche Substanz 6 wiederum Zinn, jedoch hier in Form einer Legierung mit dem Katalysatormaterial 3, so dass eine Platin-Zinn-Legierung gebildet wird.
Die zusätzlichen Substanzen, die als Promotoren und/oder Stabilisatoren verstanden werden können, können also Metalle oder Metalloxide bzw. Salze, der genannten Metalle sein. Sie können als Bestandteil des Trägermaterials 1 oder eingebettet
und/oder in Legierung mit dem Material 2, 3 des Katalysators 10 oder in einer sonstigen geeigneten Weise als Bestandteil des Katalysators 10 vorgesehen sein.
Das Aufbringen kann durch Beschichten oder Imprägnieren erfolgen. Insbesondere geeignet sind wässrige Lösungen der relevanten Metallsalze. Chloride, Nitrate oder Acetat sind Beispiele hierfür.
Die die eigentliche katalytisch wirksame Substanz bildenden Edelmetalle 2, 3 können in einer ähnlichen Weise aufgebracht sein, also durch Beschichten, Imprägnieren oder durch Einbetten in ein Trägermaterial 1.
Der Katalysator 10 kann in Form von Pellets oder Ringen vorgesehen sein, oder in Form von Pulver oder Washcoat, oder in einer anderen geeigneten Form.
Die als Promotor und/oder Stabilisator wirkenden zusätzlichen Substanzen können einzeln oder in Kombination vorgesehen sein, auch eine Kombination von Metallen und Salzen ist möglich. Ein Vorteil ist, dass zum Aufbringen übliche Beschichtungsverfahren geeignet sind, wie Washcoating, Imprägnieren, Austausch.
Es hat sich gezeigt, dass der Katalysator 10 regeneriert werden kann ohne eine signifikante Änderung seiner Leistung.
Der Katalysator erlaubt einen einfachen einstufigen Prozess zur Wasserstofferzeugung aus schwefelhaltigen Kraftstoffen, wobei der erzeugte Wasserstoff von hoher Reinheit ist. Vorteilhaft sind weiterhin moderate Prozessbedingungen, die durch den Katalysator ermöglicht werden.
Von großem Vorteil ist, dass der Katalysator gegen Vergiftung durch im Kraftstoff enthaltenen Schwefel unanfällig ist. Sich auf dem Katalysator festsetzender Schwefel wird reduziert und in Form von Schwefelwasserstoff mit dem Wasserstoff abtransportiert. Somit ist eine Erzeugung von Wasserstoff durch partielle
Dehydrierung auch von schwefelhaltigen Kohlenwasserstoffen ohne vorherige Entschwefelung möglich.
Figur 2 zeigt eine Vorrichtung 20 zur Erzeugung von Wasserstoff aus schweren Kohlenwasserstoffen an Bord eines Fahrzeuges, insbesondere Luftfahrzeuges, hier am Beispiel eines Flugzeuges 22. Die Vorrichtung 20 weist einen Reformer 24 mit dem Katalysator 10 gemäß einer der drei Ausführungsbeispiele von Figur 1 sowie eine Zuführeinrichtung 26 auf, die schwere Kohlenwasserstoffe liefert. Die Zuführeinrichtung 26 weist einen mit üblichem Flugkraftstoff als schwerer Kohlenwasserstoff befüllten oder befüllbaren Tank 28 auf.
Claims
1. Verfahren zur Erzeugung von Wasserstoff aus schweren Kohlenwasserstoffen durch katalytische partielle Dehydrierung mittels eines mindestens ein Edelmetall enthaltenden Katalysators, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Katalysator zusätzlich eine oder mehrere der Substanzen: Ni, Ce, Sn, Zr, Ti enthält.
2. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 , dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Edelmetall Palladium und/oder Platin umfasst.
3. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass schwefelhaltige Kohlenwasserstoffe dehydriert werden.
4. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 , 2 oder 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die katalytische Dehydrierung der schweren Kohlenwasserstoffe unmittelbar in einem einstufigen Prozess erfolgt.
5. Verfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die katalytische Dehydrierung bei Temperaturen unter 900 K erfolgt.
6. Verfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die katalytische Dehydrierung bei Temperaturen ab 473 K erfolgt.
7. Verfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Katalysator regeneriert wird.
8. Verfahren nach Anspruch 7, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Regenerieren bei erhöhter Temperatur in einer sauerstoffhaltigen oder wasserstoffhaltigen Atmosphäre erfolgt.
9. Vorrichtung (20) zur Erzeugung von Wasserstoff aus schweren Kohlenwasserstoffen durch katalytische partielle Dehydrierung, mit einer Zuführeinrichtung (26) zum Liefern schwerer Kohlenwasserstoffe und einem Katalysator (10) der mindestens ein Edelmetall (2, 3) enthält, wobei der Katalysator (10) zusätzlich eine oder mehrere der Substanzen: Ni, Ce, Sn, Zr, Ti enthält.
10. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 9, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Edelmetall (2, 3) Palladium und/oder Platin umfasst.
11. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 9 oder 10, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Katalysator (10) durch ein Trägermaterial (1 ) gebildet ist, das das Edelmetall (2, 3) und die mindestens eine zusätzliche Substanz (4, 5, 6) trägt.
12. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 11 , dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Trägermaterial (1 ) eine hohe spezifische Oberfläche aufweist.
13. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 12, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Trägermaterial (1 ) AI2O3, TiO2, SiO2 oder Aktivkohle ist.
14. Vorrichtung nach einem der Ansprüche 9 bis 13, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die zusätzlichen Substanzen (5, 6) in metallischer Form vorgesehen sind.
15. Vorrichtung nach einem der Ansprüche 9 bis 14, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die zusätzlichen Substanzen (4) in Form von Salzen vorgesehen sind.
16. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 15, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Salze Chloride, Nitrate oder Acetate sind.
17. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 14 oder 15, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die zusätzlichen Substanzen (5) in Form von Clustern vorgesehen sind.
18. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 17, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Cluster im Trägermatehal (1 ) eingebettet sind.
19. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 17 oder 18, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Cluster im Edelmetall eingebettet sind.
20. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 14, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die zusätzlichen Substanzen (6) in Form einer Legierung mit dem Edelmetall (3) vorgesehen sind.
21. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 14 oder 15, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die zusätzlichen Substanzen (4, 6) in Form einer Beschichtung auf dem Trägermaterial (1 ) vorgesehen sind.
22. Vorrichtung nach einem der Ansprüche 9 bis 21 , dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Katalysator (10) in Form von Pellets oder Ringen vorgesehen ist.
23. Vorrichtung nach einem der Ansprüche 9 bis 21 , dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Katalysator (10) in Form von Pulver oder Washcoat vorgesehen ist.
24. Vorrichtung nach einem der Ansprüche 9 bis 23, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Zuführeinrichtung (26) als schwere Kohlenwasserstoffe einen Flugkraftstoff, Diesel oder Benzin liefert.
25. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 24, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Zuführeinrichtung (26) einen Fahrzeugtank (28), insbesondere eines Luftfahrzeuges (22), aufweist
