Definitions

  • the invention relates to a pencil sharpener for sharpening a pin, in particular a cosmetic pencil.
  • a sharpener is usually used to sharpen the lead of a pen and thereby peel off a possibly existing mine envelope in the area of the pen tip.
  • a sharpener comprises an approximately cuboidal or wedge-shaped sharpener body, in which a substantially circular conical pointed cone is introduced as a guide for the pen tip such that its lateral surface approximately touches an outer surface of the sharpener body. In the vicinity of this tangent, the pointed cone is opened via a chip ejection slot to the adjacent outer surface of the sharpener body.
  • a sharpener further comprises a paring knife, which is attached tangentially with respect to the lateral surface of the pointed cone on the sharpener body and protrudes with a cutting edge in the chip ejection slot, so that upon rotation of a pin inserted into the tapered cone with respect to the sharpener body by the cutting edge of the peeling knife a chip of lifted off the pen.
  • the substantially cuboidal sharpener body are provided at its longitudinal side walls with complementary projections or depressions.
  • the projections or depressions in this case allow the mating of several pen sharpeners and thus their combination into a multiple sharpener.
  • Pencil sharpeners for sharpening cosmetic pencils which are usually provided with a comparatively soft, plastic lead, often have, in addition to the peeling knife, a so-called lead shaper which, during the sharpening process, produces the lead mass projecting in the region of the pencil tip into a predetermined in particular rounded tip forms.
  • a so-called lead shaper which, during the sharpening process, produces the lead mass projecting in the region of the pencil tip into a predetermined in particular rounded tip forms.
  • Known pencil sharpeners are provided a plurality of different shaped mortar shaper, which are arranged on a carousel-like adjustment mechanism and can be brought alternatively by turning the adjusting mechanism with the pin guide channel in engagement.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a manufacturing technology particularly favorable pen sharpener, which should still be flexible and / or easy to handle handling.
  • a sharpener body of the pencil sharpener comprises a guide sleeve having a bore defining a pin guide channel for a pin to be sharpened, wherein at the outer periphery of this guide sleeve at least one (compared to the outer diameter of the guide sleeve) flatter Support wing is formed.
  • the or each support wing projects in cross section approximately radially from this and carries in a spaced from the guide sleeve end portion a functional element for the protection or processing of the lead tip of the pin to be pointed.
  • the functional element is in particular a mine former.
  • a film strip acting as a predetermined bending point or predetermined separation point is formed in the or each supporting wing, along which the end region of the supporting wing can be bent such that the functional element is removed from an engagement position with the pin guide channel.
  • a handling-technical advantage is achieved in that the pencil sharpener can be used optionally with or without a functional element, and if necessary can be converted by a simple bending process.
  • This handling flexibility is achieved at the same time structurally extremely simple design, whereby the pen sharpener - especially compared to conventional pen nibblers with similar functionality - is particularly easy and inexpensive to produce.
  • the film strip may be formed such that the end region of the support wing is irreversibly separated when bent from the rest of the support wing.
  • the film strip acts in the manner of a film hinge and permits a reversible and repeated pivoting of the end region, and thus of the functional element arranged thereon, out of or into the engaged position.
  • the pencil sharpener preferably comprises two support wings, which project from the guide sleeve opposite to each other and impart a wing nut-like shape to the sharpener body in cross section through the guide sleeve.
  • the support wings are in turn brought together in their end to form a closed support frame.
  • the bore defining the pin guide channel of the sharpener body passes completely through the associated guide sleeve so that the pin guide channel projects beyond both axial ends of the guide sleeve.
  • the guide sleeve is designed such that a pin inserted in the pointed position fully penetrates the guide sleeve and protrudes beyond the guide sleeve at least with part of its pin tip through an outlet end of the bore.
  • a knife holder is expediently integrally formed on the guide sleeve, which projects axially beyond the outlet end of the bore provided in the guide sleeve.
  • the knife holder flanks the pin guide channel here on one side, so that the pin guide channel is open to a side facing away from the knife holder side.
  • the largely open configuration of the pin guide channel in the area of the knife holder, and thus with inserted pin in the area of the pen tip, has the advantage that scraped off during the sharpening process mining mass can easily fall off the knife holder.
  • Fig. 1 shows the sharpener body 2 made of plastic or metal and a paring knife 3 fastened on the sharpener body 2.
  • the sharpener body 2 in turn comprises a guide sleeve 4, an integrally formed thereon knife holder 5 and two integrally formed on the guide sleeve 4 support wings 6 and 7th
  • the guide sleeve 4 is from a central bore 8 ( Fig. 3 ), which supports a pin S to be pointed during the sharpening process and thus forms a pin guide channel 9 (FIG. Fig. 3 ) Are defined.
  • the pin guide channel 9 thus denotes the volume occupied by the pin S to be sharpened in the pointed position inside and outside of the guide sleeve 4. Outside the guide sleeve 4, the pin guide channel 9 is given by the mental extension of the wall of the bore 8 on the guide sleeve 4 addition.
  • the guide sleeve 4 and in particular its bore 8 have an insertion end 10, on which a pin S to be sharpened is to be introduced into the bore 8 in the course of the sharpening operation.
  • the insertion end 10 axially opposite end of the guide sleeve 4 and the bore 8, to which the pen tip of the pin S in pointed position protrudes out of the guide sleeve 4 is referred to as the exit end 11.
  • the bore 8 is cylindrical, i. especially with a constant diameter. This cylindrical portion 12 serves to ensure good guidance of the pin S along an axis 13 of the pin guide channel 9.
  • the bore 8 tapers towards the outlet end 11 conically. This conical portion 14 of the bore 8 serves as a stop for the axial fixation of the pin S in the pointed position.
  • the guide sleeve 4 has an outer circumference 15, which can in principle be shaped as desired. In the illustrated embodiments, however, the outer periphery 15 of the guide sleeve 4 is always circular.
  • the knife holder 5 has, as in particular from the FIGS. 2 and 3 can be seen, essentially the shape of a wedge whose horizontal surface 16 (FIG. Fig. 3 ) is aligned at a small distance parallel to the axis 13 of the pin guide channel 9.
  • the inclined surface of the wedge shape forms a bearing surface 17 (FIG. Fig. 3 ) on which the paring knife 3 is positioned at an angle with respect to the axis 13.
  • the support surface 17 is for this purpose in particular surrounded on its side facing away from the axis 13 edge with a rail-like positioning aid 18 to which the paring knife 3 is applied.
  • the paring knife 3 is oriented in this position such that its cutting edge 19 forms an axis 13 approximately intersecting line.
  • the paring knife 3 is fixed by means of a fastening screw 20 on the support surface 17.
  • the knife holder 5 is arranged with its central longitudinal axis offset parallel to the axis 13, so that its wedge tip 21 is remote from the guide sleeve 4, and the wedge tip 21 opposite wedge base 22 corresponding to the guide sleeve 4 faces.
  • the knife holder 5 overlaps in the region of the wedge base 22 with the guide sleeve 4 in an axial region which exceeds the axial length of the conical portion 14 of the guide sleeve 4. This overlap ensures that the pin S is peeled clean to its outer periphery.
  • the guide sleeve 4 is provided with a chip ejection slot 23 into which the cutting edge 19 of the peeling knife 3 protrudes.
  • the knife holder 5 protrudes beyond the outlet end 11 of the guide sleeve 4. In this area, the knife holder 5 flanks the pin guide channel 9 only on one side, while the pin guide channel 9 is not limited in the rest of the circumferential angle range outwards, so that when peeling the paring knife 3 and the pin guide channel 9 filling pen S hang quasi freely in space.
  • the pin guide channel 9 is surrounded only in a circumferential angular range of slightly more than 90 ° of the knife holder 5 and the paring knife 3.
  • the pin guide channel 9 is open towards the outside, so that chip waste and peeled lead mass can fall freely from the peeling blade 3 and the knife holder 5.
  • Each support wing 6 and 7 is formed in a neck region 24 on the outer circumference 15 of the guide sleeve 4 and protrudes from there - viewed in cross section along the axis 13 - radially from the guide sleeve 4 from.
  • the two support wings 6 and 7 are arranged in particular at mutually opposite circumferential regions of the guide sleeve 4, so that the sharpener body 2 has approximately the shape of a wing nut.
  • Each support wing 6,7 has a small thickness compared to the diameter of the guide sleeve 4 and an elongate, flat shape whose longitudinal extent is aligned parallel to the axis 13. Starting from the attachment region 24, each support wing 6, 7 extends axially in the direction of the exit end 11 and beyond it. The support wings 6, 7 thus flank the knife holder 5 and the paring knife 3 in the axial direction.
  • the knife holder 5 is optionally integrated in the support wing 6.
  • the support wings 6, 7 are brought together and joined together in one piece.
  • the support wings 6.7 thus form a substantially rectangular, closed support frame 31, in which the guide sleeve 4 and optionally also the knife holder 5 are integrated.
  • the pencil sharpener 1 includes after the 4 and 5 A sharpener body 2 based on the design principle described above and a peeling blade 3 mounted thereon.
  • the sharpener body 2 additionally comprises a mortar former 36, which is realized by a rounded contour of the inner edge 37 of the supporting wings 6, 7 in its common end region 25.
  • the demineralizer 36 is arranged so that it engages with planar aligned support wings 6 and 7 in the cone tip of the pin guide channel 9, so that the refill of the inserted pin in pointed position S is formed into a rounded tip.
  • the end region 25 of the support wings 6 and 7 is reversible relative to the respective attachment region 24 in the in Fig. 5 shown position pivoted.
  • the pivotability of the support wings 6,7 is made possible by a film strip 38 which is introduced into each of the support wings 6 and 7.
  • the support strips 6 and 7 associated film strips 38 are in this case along a common, arranged perpendicular to the axis 13 of the pin guide channel 9 axis 39 aligned, which acts as a rotation axis for the tilting of the end portion 25.
  • the film strip 38 is optionally designed so strong that it (in particular with only slight tilting from the starting position to Fig. 4 ) acts in the manner of a leaf spring, which elastically pushes the end region 25, and thus the mandrel former 36, back into the starting position as soon as the end region 25 is relieved, ie as soon as the tilting pressure acting on the end region 25 is released.
