Definitions
- the invention relates to an intake system for an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle according to the preamble of claim 1.
- the device has a first one and an unfiltered air inlet, wherein a closure element is provided, which either closes the first or the second unfiltered air inlet.
- a closure element In the first unfiltered air intake is a moisture sensor arranged, which via two electrically conductive sensor wires features.
- the moisture sensor is connected to a control electronics, which the closure element controls
- a disadvantage of this design is the considerable space required for the pipe, which in the engine compartment is arranged. This can not be done too small, otherwise the switching point of the arrangement can not be defined exactly. Still reacts this mechanical switching arrangement only when the vehicle is in a stagnant water dips. In the case of splash water, there is no pressure sufficient for switching built, whereby water enters the intake and affects the function of the engine.
- the object of the invention is to provide an Asaugsystem, which in a small installation space can be integrated and the entry of snow, spray, or whipped water can prevent.
- the intake system according to the invention for an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle has a first unfiltered air intake and a second unfiltered air intake, both being unfiltered air inlets are brought together in a common line and this line with the internal combustion engine is communicatively connected.
- each unfiltered air intake has its own components such as e.g. a separate filter element features.
- Each unfiltered air intake consists of an opening through which air enters the intake system can flow in, and a line section, which the opening with the line combines.
- the Rohluftemlässe are with one or more closure elements lockable, whereby either by the first unfiltered air intake or by the second Rohlufteinlass air in the communicatively connected to the internal combustion engine line arrives.
- the closure element closes the respective unfiltered air intake completely, whereby Only feed air through the unclosed unfiltered air inlet into the pipe can.
- the closure element may e.g. by a rotary body with corresponding openings are formed, which releases the first unfiltered air intake in an end position and in a second end position closes the first unfiltered air intake.
- the inflowing Air directed directly or indirectly to the internal combustion engine.
- the air can be pretreated, e.g. dried or cooled. If the air is routed directly to the engine, so is no additional component in the line required.
- the first unfiltered air inlet is at a location advantageous for air intake in the motor vehicle arranged.
- the front area is a preferred location because accordingly the motor vehicle speed, the air is forced into the unfiltered air intake is, whereby the degree of filling of the cylinder is improved. Furthermore, it is in the front area sucked air cooler than the air present in the engine compartment. In the front area, however, can also get snow, ice, spray or whipped water into the first unfiltered air intake.
- Splashes are water drops of any size mixed with air, Splashing water can e.g. whirled up from the road by a preceding vehicle or be generated by rain.
- the term impact water describes a larger amount of water, which e.g. when crossing a river as a water surge occurs.
- the second unfiltered air intake is at a location less favorable for air intake in the motor vehicle arranged, this location is protected splash and impact water. Preferred places for the arrangement of the second unfiltered air inlet, e.g. the engine compartment or the ventilation system be
- a movement unit For actuating the closure element, a movement unit is provided, which connected to a control.
- the movement unit may e.g. by an electric motor or a vacuum can be formed and is activatable with the control, whereby the movement unit has a rotary or translatory movement performs, which moves the closure element in an end position and so either the closes first or second Rohlufteinlass.
- the control is through a Moisture sensor is formed, which has a signal output for controlling the movement unit
- the humidity sensor also for regulation can be used.
- the moisture sensor can be adjusted in such a way that it can be sprayed, What affects the engine even in their function, a signal to the Moving unit sends, through which the first unfiltered air intake is closed.
- a signal to the Moving unit sends, through which the first unfiltered air intake is closed.
- the signal from the humidity sensor can be sent directly, as well as via electronics, such as. the motor control to which the motion unit is sent.
- the second unfiltered air intake open, whereby the internal combustion engine from the second unfiltered air intake sucked in air for combustion receives.
- the closure element is a Flap.
- the flap may e.g. be circular, oval or rectangular, so that it closes the second unfiltered air inlet in a first position and in a second position Position closes the first unfiltered air intake.
- the flap can be centrally located on one Damper shaft can be arranged and by a rotational movement of the valve shaft to be moved.
- the valve shaft is in an edge region arranged and thus allows a Störkonturcycle Roh Kunststoffansaugung. To penetrate of water in the first unfiltered air intake, especially when submerged in a body of water, To prevent the flap can have a circumferential seal.

- the protective layer may e.g. a corrosion protection which completely encloses the capacitor plates, whereby the capacitor plates do not come in direct contact with water or air.
- the capacitor plates are connected to an evaluation unit in which the electric field between the capacitor plates is evaluated.
- the evaluation unit measures the capacity of the Capacitor plates with high-frequency AC voltage. Air has a permittivity number of about 1 on and water has a Permittworkssiere of about 80. Once water instead of sucking in air, the permittivity between the capacitor plates changes considerably, whereby the evaluation unit sends a signal to the movement unit sends and the first unfiltered air inlet is closed by the closure element.
- the capacity sensor can be adjusted so that it only on water, so if the permittivity between the capacitor plates changes significantly, reacts. For other settings, even a small change in the permittivity number sufficient to close the first unfiltered air intake.
