- the invention relates to a printing machine for rubber-rubber printing with a horizontal web run according to the preamble of claim 1.
- DE 27 54 429 C2 shows a printing unit for rubber-rubber printing with a horizontal web run. Then two printing units, each with a plate and a transfer cylinder, are arranged one above the other. The horizontally running web to be printed is passed between the transfer cylinder. The plane containing the axes of the transfer cylinders is inclined to the vertical by a larger angular amount, approximately 30 °. As a result, the web is wrapped around the transfer cylinder. This is necessary because the transfer cylinders have clamping channels. In the case of an arrangement of such cylinders vertically one above the other, the pressure on the web and thus the web tension and positive web travel exerted by the printing unit would be interrupted when the tensioning channels pass through the pressure zone.
- the inclination of the transfer cylinders shown in the cited publication has the disadvantage in terms of printing technology that the peripheral speed of the transfer cylinders in the looping area is greater than the web speed and this results in displacements between the web and transfer cylinders which adversely affect the print quality.

- the invention reduces the wrap-around area of the transfer cylinders, as a result of which the displacement between web and cylinder surface is reduced and the print quality is thereby improved. From this point of view, a completely omitted loop would be optimal. However, this would have the disadvantage that after leaving the printing nip, the web sticks to the cylinder with the currently larger pressure component of the subject and flaps depending on the subject. This has an adverse effect on the web tension and the print quality (dot gain, circumferential duplex ', circumferential register error). Optimal wrapping, which meets the printing requirements and a stable web run, is therefore achieved with an inclination of the transfer cylinders in the specified angular range.
