Definitions

  • the invention relates to a fastener for seat belts, with a pivot bolt which is mounted in a load-bearing frame and engages in its locking position on a locking edge of a tongue, a locking member which is on the frame transversely to the pivoting direction of the pivot bolt between an open position in which it is the pivot bolt releases, and a locking position in which it blocks the swivel bolt in its engaged position, is mounted displaceably, and a release button also mounted on the frame, by the actuation of which the locking member can be moved into the open position.
  • Such a swivel bolt lock is known for example from DE 40 09 272 A1.
  • the locking member designed as a plate is supported in this embodiment by a compression spring against the swivel bolt and is moved directly by the release button.
  • the forces occurring on the release button and on the locking plate due to inertia at the end of a belt tensioning stroke, through which the lock is shifted towards the vehicle floor, are directed in the opening direction of the release button, so that special measures have to be taken to automatically open the lock to prevent.
  • a pawl is mounted on the release button, which due to its inertia is pivoted when the release button suddenly accelerates and dips into a latching opening on the frame of the closure.
  • the pawl must be pivoted very quickly so that the intended blocking of the release button occurs. This cannot always be guaranteed at extremely high accelerations of the closure.
  • the loads to be borne by the pawl assume very high values, which include both the entire mass of the release button and that of the locking plate and the pawl itself.
  • the invention creates a fastener for seat belts, which is secured against unintentional opening even at extremely high acceleration values of 4000 g or more and does not require any changes in principle to the proven design according to the swivel bolt principle.
  • the locking member which holds the pivot bolt in its closed position, is in turn blocked by at least one locking body in the locked position, which can be moved transversely to the direction of displacement of the locking member between a locked position and a release position. Because of its mobility, the locking member does not respond to accelerations only transversely to the direction of displacement of the locking member, the direction of which corresponds to the actuation direction of the release button. Therefore, the blocking body remains in its blocking position even with extremely high accelerations in this direction. The closure is therefore securely locked regardless of the timing.
  • the blocking body can in turn be locked in its blocking position by a blocking element which can be displaced parallel to the direction of displacement of the blocking element. Consequently, on the one hand the locking member is secured by the locking body against accelerations in the actuation direction of the release button, and on the other hand the blocking body is in turn secured against accelerations transverse to this direction by the blocking member. It follows that the closure is secured against accelerations in all directions.
  • the blocking member must first be displaced in order to release the locking body, which then in turn enables the locking member to be displaced in order to release the swivel bolt.
  • the required sequence of movements can easily be achieved by means of a two-armed deflection lever which is pivotably mounted on the locking member, the first end of which acts on the release button and the second end of which is connected to the blocking member.
  • the deflection lever, the blocking member and the parts of the release button acting thereon are mass-compensated for acceleration in the actuation direction of the release button, so that they remain relatively calm even at extremely high values of this acceleration.
  • the buckle for seat belts connects a conventional tongue 10 with a fitting 12 on which a belt tensioner, a so-called buckle tensioner, can engage.
  • the closure comprises a load-bearing frame 14 connected to the fitting 12, which is bent in a U-shape in plan view and between the legs of which a pivot bolt 16 is pivotally mounted.
  • the pivot bolt 16 engages with a hook 16a on a latching edge 10a of the tongue 10.
  • a locking plate 20 is displaceably guided in two guide slots 18, which are parallel to one another and to the tongue 10, in the legs of the frame 14.
  • a compression spring 22 is supported between the locking plate 20 and a support surface 16b on the swivel bolt 16 and applies an opening moment to the swivel bolt 16, but at the same time presses the locking plate 20 into a locked position in which it makes a stop for a raised neck 16c on the hook 16a forms the opposite side of the pivot bolt 16.
  • the locking plate 20 therefore holds the pivot bolt 16 in its closed position shown in FIG. 2.
  • a two-part release button 24a, 24b is also pivotably mounted on the frame 14.
  • the two parts 24a, 24b of the release button are pivotable about a common axis and spread apart at their free ends by spring force.
  • the part 24a of the release button lies against the adjacent edge of the locking plate 20.
  • the locking plate 20 On both sides of the locking plate 20 has a protruding bearing pin 26, on each of which a two-armed bell crank 28 is pivotally mounted by means of an elongated hole 28a.
  • a blocking plate 30 is connected in an articulated manner to the upper arm of the deflection lever 28.
  • the locking plate 30 is slidably mounted in two parallel guide slots 32 in the two legs of the frame 14 parallel to the locking plate 20.
  • a compression spring 34 By means of a compression spring 34, the blocking plate 30 is loaded in the opposite direction to the blocking plate 20 by the compression spring 18.
  • the end of the blocking plate 30 facing away from the deflection lever 28 lies over two blocking balls 36, each of which is mounted in a trough 38 of the blocking plate 20.
  • the blocking plate 30 prevents the blocking balls 36 from escaping from the troughs 38, as a result of which the blocking plate 20 is blocked in its position.
  • the deflection lever 28 On its arm facing away from the blocking plate 30, the deflection lever 28 has a shoulder 28b which projects through an opening 40 in the part 24a of the release button and bears against the part 24b thereof.
  • the mass distribution and the levers involved on the part 24b of the release button, the pivot bolt 28 and the blocking plate 30 are selected so that these parts are mass-compensated for accelerations in the actuation direction of the release button. Even with extremely high accelerations in this direction, these parts therefore remain motionless relative to the frame 14 of the closure.
  • the locking balls 36 are prevented from emerging from the troughs 38, as a result of which the locking plate 20 is blocked in its locking position and secures the swivel bolt 16 in its closed position.
  • the locking balls 36 When accelerating transversely to the direction of actuation of the release button, the locking balls 36 cannot deflect either, since they are enclosed between the locking plate 20 and the blocking plate 30. The closure is therefore secured against accelerations of any size and in any direction.
  • the release button is actuated in a direction which corresponds to the direction of insertion of the tongue 10, as in a conventional swivel bolt closure.
  • the part 24b of the release button first pushes the shoulder 28b of the deflection lever 28 and pivots it, as a result of which the blocking plate 30 is displaced in the guide slots 32 counter to the force of the compression spring 34 until the locking balls 36 are released.
  • the parts 24a and 24b of the release button lie against each other, so that now after the initial actuation stroke a second actuation stroke the locking plate 20 is moved against the force of the compression spring 22.
