Definitions

  • the invention relates to a cash drawer, comprising a cuboid housing open on its front wall and a drawer slidably guided therein with a lower part of a drawer and a compartment insert, the height of which is less than the height of the entire drawer.
  • the lower part of the drawer is usually fixed in the housing.
  • the space under the compartment insert is used to hold checks, large banknotes and supply rolls for hard cash.
  • the compartment insert can be removed at the end of the checkout, then the Checks, the large banknotes and the supply rolls must be removed from the lower part of the drawer.
  • the invention has for its object to design a cash drawer of the type mentioned in such a way that the above-mentioned requirement can be met even with small external dimensions of the cash drawer.
  • the compartment insert comprises a removable first insert section near the front wall of the drawer and a rear second insert section which is displaceable on the lower part of the drawer parallel to the sliding direction of the drawer between a first position covering the bottom of the lower part of the drawer and a second position in which he gives access to the rear floor area of the lower part of the drawer.
  • the solution according to the invention gives the drawer a second level below the second insert section, which can also be divided into compartments by the arrangement of corresponding partition walls and is easily accessible.
  • Coin or notes could also be accommodated under a conventional cash drawer under the compartment insert, but these were only accessible if the operator removed the entire compartment insert and had to hold it in his hand, since there is usually no space to use it anywhere to turn off. Thus, the operator had only one hand free to access the lower part of the drawer.
  • GB-A-2 172 729 From GB-A-2 172 729 it is already known to provide a compartment insert which can be pushed backwards into the housing over a fixed lower part of a hinged lid cash drawer in which all bill compartments are arranged. All coin compartments are housed in this. In a first position, this insert completely covers the lower part and in its second position it gives access to all compartments of the lower part.
  • the housing has twice the depth of the insert in order to offer space in both positions.
  • a resiliently deflectable stop is provided on the housing or the second insert section, which interacts with the other of the two parts or a driver arranged on it in the sense that the second insert section when the drawer is pulled out into its second Position is shifted.
  • the second insert section on the last part of the sliding path of the drawer is thus automatically held by the stop when the drawer is extended or pulled out of the housing and thus moved backwards relative to the lower part of the drawer, so that the bottom compartments of the Bottom of the drawer can be exposed.
  • the resilient stop can be overcome by an additional tensile force, so that the drawer can be completely pulled out of the housing.
  • the drawer does not need to be emptied at the checkout, but can be taken with you.
  • the second insert section has guide claws on its side walls, each of which engages around a guide rail on the lower part of the drawer that is parallel to the sliding direction.
  • the second insert section can have a plurality of compartments, which are separated by walls parallel to the sliding direction and are provided with a cover in a rear partial area adjoining the rear wall of the second insert section. These compartments are designed to hold smaller notes. In order to make even large notes easily accessible without having to remove the front insert section, which is usually provided for coin money, in a preferred embodiment of the cash drawer according to the invention, at least one compartment extending over the entire height of the drawer is arranged between the two insert sections.
  • the space under the first insert section can be reserved for checks, for example.
  • the drawer base and the insert sections can be designed so that the insert sections extend across the entire width of the drawer, i.e. not held by the side walls of the lower part of the drawer. This allows some space for the fan inserts to be gained.
  • the cash drawer shown in Figure 1 comprises a cuboid housing 10 which is open at one of its end faces.

  • the embodiment according to FIGS. 3 to 6 differs from the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 and 2 essentially in that the upper part of the side walls of the lower drawer part 22 and the compartment 46 between the receiving spaces 48 and 50 of the lower drawer part are missing.
  • the insert sections 24 and 26 are dimensioned such that they extend over the entire width of the drawer.

  • a deflectable spring tongue 66 is arranged, via which the insert section 26 can be pushed onto the guide rails and which then serves as a stop when the insert section 26 is pushed back.
  • FIG. 3 shows the drawer 20 in the extended state, the bottom surface of the lower drawer part 22 being covered.
  • the second insert section 26 is partially pushed back into the housing 10, so that on the one hand the compartments of the second insert section 26 and on the other hand the bottom compartments of the lower part of the drawer lying underneath are exposed.
  • the arrangement can be made so that the operator either at If necessary, the second insert section 26 is pushed back into the housing 10 or that when the drawer 20 is pulled out of the housing 10, the rear insert section 26 is held back by a resiliently deflectable stop 68 and is thus moved into its rear position when the drawer 20 is pulled out further.
