Definitions
- the invention relates to a cash drawer, comprising a cuboid housing open on its front wall and a drawer slidably guided therein with a lower part of a drawer and a compartment insert, the height of which is less than the height of the entire drawer.
- the lower part of the drawer is usually fixed in the housing.
- the space under the compartment insert is used to hold checks, large banknotes and supply rolls for hard cash.
- the compartment insert can be removed at the end of the checkout, then the Checks, the large banknotes and the supply rolls must be removed from the lower part of the drawer.
- the invention has for its object to design a cash drawer of the type mentioned in such a way that the above-mentioned requirement can be met even with small external dimensions of the cash drawer.
- the compartment insert comprises a removable first insert section near the front wall of the drawer and a rear second insert section which is displaceable on the lower part of the drawer parallel to the sliding direction of the drawer between a first position covering the bottom of the lower part of the drawer and a second position in which he gives access to the rear floor area of the lower part of the drawer.
- the solution according to the invention gives the drawer a second level below the second insert section, which can also be divided into compartments by the arrangement of corresponding partition walls and is easily accessible.
- Coin or notes could also be accommodated under a conventional cash drawer under the compartment insert, but these were only accessible if the operator removed the entire compartment insert and had to hold it in his hand, since there is usually no space to use it anywhere to turn off. Thus, the operator had only one hand free to access the lower part of the drawer.
- GB-A-2 172 729 From GB-A-2 172 729 it is already known to provide a compartment insert which can be pushed backwards into the housing over a fixed lower part of a hinged lid cash drawer in which all bill compartments are arranged. All coin compartments are housed in this. In a first position, this insert completely covers the lower part and in its second position it gives access to all compartments of the lower part.
- the housing has twice the depth of the insert in order to offer space in both positions.
- a resiliently deflectable stop is provided on the housing or the second insert section, which interacts with the other of the two parts or a driver arranged on it in the sense that the second insert section when the drawer is pulled out into its second Position is shifted.
- the second insert section on the last part of the sliding path of the drawer is thus automatically held by the stop when the drawer is extended or pulled out of the housing and thus moved backwards relative to the lower part of the drawer, so that the bottom compartments of the Bottom of the drawer can be exposed.
- the resilient stop can be overcome by an additional tensile force, so that the drawer can be completely pulled out of the housing.
- the drawer does not need to be emptied at the checkout, but can be taken with you.
- the second insert section has guide claws on its side walls, each of which engages around a guide rail on the lower part of the drawer that is parallel to the sliding direction.
- the second insert section can have a plurality of compartments, which are separated by walls parallel to the sliding direction and are provided with a cover in a rear partial area adjoining the rear wall of the second insert section. These compartments are designed to hold smaller notes. In order to make even large notes easily accessible without having to remove the front insert section, which is usually provided for coin money, in a preferred embodiment of the cash drawer according to the invention, at least one compartment extending over the entire height of the drawer is arranged between the two insert sections.
- the space under the first insert section can be reserved for checks, for example.
- the drawer base and the insert sections can be designed so that the insert sections extend across the entire width of the drawer, i.e. not held by the side walls of the lower part of the drawer. This allows some space for the fan inserts to be gained.
- the cash drawer shown in Figure 1 comprises a cuboid housing 10 which is open at one of its end faces.
- Telescopic rails 14 are arranged on the inside of the side walls 12 of the housing 10 and comprise a fixed rail part 16 fastened to the respective side wall 12 and at least one extendable movable rail part 18.
- a drawer 20 which can be pushed into the housing 10 comprises a lower drawer part 22 and two insert sections 24 and 26 which can be inserted into the drawer part 22.
- the drawer 20 can be closed with a cover 28 when it is removed from the housing 10 at the checkout.
- the lower drawer part 22 has a bottom 30, a front wall 32, side walls 34 and a half-height rear wall 36.
- the side walls 34 are offset inwards in their lower part, so that bearing surfaces 38 are created with which the drawer 20 on the movable rail parts 18 of the Telescopic rail guides 14 rests.
- a step 40 is created on the inside of the drawer, on which the insert sections 24 and 26 are seated.
- the height of the rear wall 36 corresponds to the height of the steps 40, as shown in FIG. 1, so that the second insert section 26 on the steps 40 can be moved over the rear wall 36.
- a compartment 46 for receiving large notes is formed by two partition walls 42, 44 running perpendicular to the side walls 34, the height of which is equal to the height of the side walls 34.
- This Compartment 46 separates a first accommodating space 48 for accommodating the first insert section 24 and a second accommodating space 50 for accommodating the second insert section 26.
- the first accommodating space 48 is divided into two bottom compartments by a half-high partition 52 for accommodating, for example, checks and coin supply rolls. The checks can be inserted into the corresponding bottom compartment through a slot 54 in the front wall 32.
- the rear receiving space 50 can also be divided into several floor compartments.
- a recess in the partition wall 44 provides a view of the floor compartments in the rear receiving space 50.
- the first insert section 24 is divided into a plurality of coin compartments by partitions 56.
- the second insert section 26 is divided into several compartments for receiving bills by dividing walls 58 oriented parallel to the sliding direction, the rear area of these compartments being covered by a cover 60.
- FIG. 2 shows the cash drawer described so far in the assembled state, the drawer 20 being completely pulled out of the housing 10.
- the drawer can be removed from the telescopic rails. If the operator wants to access the floor compartments located under the second insert section, he pushes the second insert section 26 back into the housing 10 in the direction of arrow A, whereby appropriate stops can be provided on the second insert section 26 and / or the lower drawer part 22 to prevent the second insert section 26 is pushed back so far that it falls out of the lower drawer part 22.
- the embodiment according to FIGS. 3 to 6 differs from the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 and 2 essentially in that the upper part of the side walls of the lower drawer part 22 and the compartment 46 between the receiving spaces 48 and 50 of the lower drawer part are missing.
- the insert sections 24 and 26 are dimensioned such that they extend over the entire width of the drawer.
- the second insert section 26 has downwardly projecting guide claws 62 on its side walls, each of which engages around a guide rail 64 running parallel to the telescopic rails on the lower drawer part 22.
- a deflectable spring tongue 66 is arranged, via which the insert section 26 can be pushed onto the guide rails and which then serves as a stop when the insert section 26 is pushed back.
- FIG. 3 shows the drawer 20 in the extended state, the bottom surface of the lower drawer part 22 being covered.
- the second insert section 26 is partially pushed back into the housing 10, so that on the one hand the compartments of the second insert section 26 and on the other hand the bottom compartments of the lower part of the drawer lying underneath are exposed.
- the arrangement can be made so that the operator either at If necessary, the second insert section 26 is pushed back into the housing 10 or that when the drawer 20 is pulled out of the housing 10, the rear insert section 26 is held back by a resiliently deflectable stop 68 and is thus moved into its rear position when the drawer 20 is pulled out further.
- This stop 68 is arranged in FIG. 4 on the inside of the top surface of the housing 10 and is shown in broken lines. Such a stop or a similarly acting arrangement can, however, be provided in different ways.
- the stop is designed so that on the one hand it retains the rear insert section 26 during the normal pulling out of the drawer 20, but that it can be overcome by a higher pulling force in order to pull the drawer 20 out of the housing 10 to such an extent that it is removed from the Telescopic rails 14 can be lifted off.
- compartment division of the drawer 20 can be seen schematically, the solid lines showing the compartment division of the insert sections 24 and 26 and the dash-dotted lines showing the boundaries of the base compartments in the bottom part 22 of the drawer.
- a hold-down device 70 for the notes lying in the compartment can be provided for the bill compartments, as is shown schematically in FIG. 5.
