Definitions

  • the invention relates to a birthing bed with a lying surface which is divided into two mutually adjustable parts, etc. a main support part supporting the upper body and the pelvis of the parturient and a leg support part supporting the legs, the main support part and the leg support part being mutually adjustable from a common lying plane located at a predetermined height in planes located at different heights, approximately parallel to the lying plane, and the like. between by lowering and lifting the leg support part by means of an adjustment mechanism, and wherein the leg support part in the lowered position relative to the main support part can be moved in the longitudinal direction of the birthing bed under the main support part into a space provided at least in the pelvic area below the main support part.
  • Simple birthing beds are known, for example, from US-A-4,615,058, EP-A-0 136 419, US-A-4,682,376 and DE-GM - 88 06419.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a birthing bed that meets the new demands of natural obstetrics, including upright birth, where the woman can determine her position yourself and the partner with good accessibility for the doctor treating in an upright posture or the midwife is integrated. Furthermore, it should be possible to convert it quickly into an operating table for any medical interventions that may be necessary.
  • the main bearing part is supported on a supported by a foundation supported at the Kop end range of the main bearing part cantilever support and can be raised and lowered again by means of an adjusting mechanism independently of the leg bearing part from the predetermined lying height into a higher position is.
  • a childbirth bed in which a main support part and a leg support part can also be adjusted in height relative to one another, but the leg support part can only be pushed under the main support part in a completely lowered position.
  • the leg support part can only be fixed at a certain height, so it cannot assume any intermediate height positions between its uppermost position and its lowest position. It is therefore hardly possible for the woman giving birth to take a crouching position, and even if this is so, the crouching position can only be taken up near the ground, so that the doctor or midwife must adopt a stooped posture with all of her manipulations.
  • the leg support part In the semi-lowered position, which would allow a crouching position in a slightly higher position, the leg support part cannot be inserted under the main support part, since a height adjustment device for the main support part, which is designed as a column, would be in the way in the pelvic region of the main support part. This makes access to the leg support part protruding forward very difficult - the doctor or midwife must bend over the protruding front end of the leg support part.
  • the inventive arrangement of the main support at the head end of the main bearing part underneath it creates a free space, so that the leg bearing part can be inserted at any height position under the main bearing part.
  • the childbirth bed according to the invention offers the possibility of creating two levels with a level difference, which enables both the sitting posture for the parturient and the squatting position on the lower level, alone or supported on the legs of the partner sitting on the upper level.
  • This difference in level is of the order of 50 cm. It is essential that the leg support part can be partially inserted under the main storage part, so that good access from the front is given.
  • the main bearing part and the leg bearing part can preferably be continuously raised and lowered.
  • An expedient space-saving construction is characterized in that the main bearing part can be raised and tilted relative to the carrier rigidly arranged on the rigid main support, the leg bearing part advantageously being able to be brought in a lowered position under the carrier carrying the main bearing part.

Because the leg support can be moved along the guide rail, the optimal individual distance between midwife and childbearing can be set. Due to the height adjustment of the leg support part, the size of the parturient can be taken into account individually.
  • Fig. 6D The woman giving birth can crouch on the leg support part 3 of the childbirth bed and rest on the legs of a partner sitting on the main support part 2. Medical advantages: as Fig. 6C, also integration of the man, the viewer becomes a contributor who feels the childbearing more secure, thereby more relaxed, which promotes better birth progress.

If the leg supports 38 are mounted, the optimal position of any necessary interventions, such as the care of the episiotomy, the manual aid in the breech end position, forzeps or vacuum extractions, is created.
  • the leg support part 3 is uncoupled and can be used separately from the main support part 2 as a support.
