Definitions

  • the invention relates to a drawer side wall, consisting of a double-walled, folded sheet metal, open at the bottom of the upper profile section, in the open bottom of which a separately manufactured and connected to the upper profile section of our profile section is inserted, so that the drawer side wall is a closed hollow profile forms.
  • drawers are increasingly being used for certain applications, the drawer side walls of which are made of plastic or metal profiles, drawers with side walls made of hollow metal profiles being used in particular for large drawers with a large capacity for receiving heavy parts or objects determined, ie are exposed to high weight loads.
  • Hollow-chamber profiles made of light metal alloys are predominantly used as metal profiles, which, in addition to the required load capacity, also have the advantage of low weight and - due to their production in the extrusion process - can also be produced with cross-sectional shapes that provide the possibility of concealed connection fittings for the connection of the side walls with the drawer rear wall and / or front panel, the holder of the drawer bottom and the concealed arrangement of the running rail of the associated pull-out guide.
  • the hollow aluminum profiles extruded from aluminum alloy are comparatively expensive due to the high investments required for the extrusion systems and shapes.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a usable without drawback in terms of appearance or load for drawer side walls hollow chamber profile of the type mentioned, which even in small series even easier and cheaper than hollow chamber profiles made overall from metallic profile sections is producible.
  • the upper profile section folded from sheet metal is at a distance from its edges, which delimit the open underside, from the mutually facing inner sides of the vertical walls forming the drawer side wall, each has a connecting flange which extends essentially over the entire length of the profile section and which in each case projects from a wall which extends essentially at right angles from the inside of the associated wall
  • Strip-shaped web section and a leg section bent substantially at right angles from the boundary edge of the web section facing away from the wall are formed so that in the lower profile section made of plastic, two each assigned to the connecting flanges, which extend essentially over the entire length of the profile section and are open at least at one end in one End face of the lower profile section opening receiving grooves are provided for each of the connecting flanges, in which the connecting flanges engage in a form-fitting manner, and that the receiving groove is formed by a number of groove sections which are successive in the longitudinal direction of the lower profile section and alternate to the respectively assigned vertical wall of the upper profile section or
  • connection of the upper metallic profile section with the lower - suitably manufactured by injection molding - profile section is thus carried out by inserting the connecting flanges of the upper profile section into the receiving groove of the lower profile section, the assembly work increasing separate operations for connecting the two profile sections, such as welding, screwing , Riveting or the like, can be omitted.
  • these groove sections are each open to one side, which means that this profile section is produced using the plastic injection molding process thermoplastic is made possible the injection mold, despite the angular configuration of the receiving groove, as seen over the entire length, can be made relatively simple, since simple, flat-surface mold cores can be provided to form the individual groove sections.
  • the connecting flanges are preferably formed as an integral unit of the vertical walls of the upper profile section, whereby they can be bent from the upper edge of metal strips, the lower edge of which is attached in one piece to each of the edges of the vertical profile section walls delimiting the open underside and is folded over by 180 ° to the inside of the respective section wall.
  • the lower profile section made of plastic has in cross section essentially the shape of an angle profile with two angle legs which are essentially perpendicular to one another in cross section, of which the horizontal angle leg is arranged inside the open profile section and there with this upper one Profile section is connected, while the vertical angle leg emerges from the lower boundary of the upper profile section.
  • Connecting means for holding a drawer base can then be provided on the angle leg of the lower profile section which projects downward from the upper profile section.
  • this drawer base is formed by a relatively thick plate made of wood-based material
  • the holding means can be formed by speargun protrusions that protrude from the vertical leg to the drawer base and are hammered into corresponding slot-like recesses in the lateral end faces of the drawer base.
  • the holding means can then alternatively be formed by a strip-shaped support flange bent from the lower free edge of the downwardly protruding angle leg of the lower profile section at right angles to the drawer, which engages under the drawer bottom.
  • a corner connector which connects the side wall to the drawer rear wall, for example is also made of plastic and can be screwed to the lower profile section.
  • Means are then expediently provided in the front front panel-side end region of the lower profile section for holding a front panel mounting fitting, so that this front panel fitting is therefore invisible in the interior of the drawer side wall.
  • At least a part of the fastening device for the releasable fastening of the running rail of a drawer pull-out guide can be provided on the lower profile section made of plastic.
  • the resilient tongue can be formed by an integral section of the angle leg itself, cut free on three sides from the downwardly protruding angle leg of the lower profile section.
  • FIG. 1 shows - in an exploded view - a drawer, designated in its entirety by 10, from which - for the sake of clarity - the base plate forming the drawer bottom is omitted.
  • the drawer 10 is otherwise made up of the two, each consisting of an upper double-walled sheet metal and enclosing a cavity the underside and the two end faces open profile section 12 and a lower profile section 14 made of plastic composite drawer side walls 16 inserted in the area of the open bottom in the profile section 12, a front panel 18 and a corner connector 20 made of plastic on the rear end faces of the side walls 22 together, which is single-walled made of sheet metal in the case shown.
  • Detachable connecting fittings 24 are provided for fastening the front panel 18 to the side walls 16, of which one fitting part 24a is fastened to the inner surface of the front panel 18 and the respective other fitting part 24b is fastened within the upper profile section 12 to the lower profile section 14.
  • the manner in which the front panel 18 is connected to the side walls 16, like the connection of the rear wall 22 to the side walls 16 via corner connectors, is fundamentally known and is not part of the invention, which is related to the specific method described below in conjunction with FIGS. 2 to 5 design of the drawer side walls 16 discussed in more detail.
  • the upper profile section 12 is folded from sheet metal and has the cross-sectional shape shown in FIG. 3.
  • a metal sheet strip 35 is attached in one piece, which is folded over by 180 ° to the inside of the wall 30.
  • An inwardly facing connecting flange 34 is folded from the originally lower and now inside the walls 30, 32, which flange consists of a web section 36 protruding at right angles from the inner surface of the wall 30 and a right-angled downward section from its free, wall-facing edge Leg section 38 is composed.
  • a connecting flange 42 corresponding to the connecting flange 34 protrudes from the inner surface of the wall 32.
  • the connecting flange 42 is also bent at right angles from a metal strip 44 and is composed of a horizontal web section 46 and a vertical leg section 48.
  • the wall 32 is curved in a circular arc outwards in its lower edge region 50, so that a connection to the metal sheet strip 44 with the lower edge of the wall 32 is still a short horizontal strip-shaped section 52 must be provided.
  • the lower profile section 14 which is made of plastic by injection molding, and specifically its end region inside the body, is shown on an enlarged scale in FIG. 2, whereby it can be seen that the connecting flanges 38, 46 of the upper profile section 12 - shown only in broken lines in this figure - into a receiving groove 54 engage, which engage in the top of an essentially horizontal angle leg 56 of the lower profile section 14, from which a vertical angle leg 58 is bent in the area of the inner wall 32, which still protrudes from the underside of the profile section 12.
  • a protrusion 16 is provided which protrudes upwards into the cavity formed between the walls 30 and 32 and which is flush with the inside end of the inside of the body upper profile section 12 lying end face has a threaded bore 62.
  • Another threaded hole 62 is in the rear, the horizontal angle leg 56 limiting end surface provided. This threaded hole serves to receive fastening screws 64 with which the corner connectors 20 are screwed to the respective drawer side wall 16.
  • the connecting flanges 34, 42 engage in the respectively assigned receiving groove 54, i.e. these receiving grooves 54 have - seen from the rear end face of the lower profile section 14 - a cross-sectional shape corresponding to the cross-sectional shape of the connecting flanges 34, 42.
  • the receiving groove is divided into a number of successively longitudinal groove sections 66 and 68, of which, for example, the one provided at the rear end, the last groove section 66 assigned to the outer wall 30 has the width of the web section 38 and opens to the wall 30, while the next groove section 68 upwards, ie is open towards the web surface 28 of the upper profile section 12, so that the leg section 38 engages in the groove section 68 from above.
  • the connecting flange 34 is alternately held in groove sections 66 and 68, whereby the lower profile section 14 is positively connected to the upper profile section 12.
  • Corresponding groove sections 66, 68 are assigned to the connecting flange 42, which are expediently offset by the length of a groove section from the groove sections 66, 68 assigned to the wall 30, so that one of the connecting flange 34 on the wall 30 assigned groove section 66 each has a groove section 68 assigned to wall 32 and a groove section 66 on the inside wall side of the groove sections 68 assigned to wall 30.
  • the subdivision of the receiving groove 54 into the groove sections 66, 68 makes it possible to inject the lower profile section 14 from plastic without the need for it Injection mold becomes too complicated.
  • the lower profile section 14 is mounted in the upper profile section 12 in such a way that the profile section 14 is inserted into the upper profile section 12 from the rear or front open end, the connecting flanges 34, 42 being anchored in the receiving groove 54.
  • An additional fixation of the lower profile section 14 in the upper profile section 12 is not necessary because the lower profile section 14 is held in the upper profile section 12 at the rear end by the corner connector 20 and at the front, outer end by the front panel 18 against displacement relative to the upper profile section 12 .
  • FIG. 1 shows on the vertical angle leg 56 of the lower profile section 14 spaced-apart speargun webs 70 which can be driven into a receiving slot in the correspondingly thick base plate of the drawer and thus fix the base plate.
  • a support flange 72 (FIG. 4) can also be provided on the lower edge of the angle leg 56, which then engages under the base plate 74.
  • the base plate 74 is secured against lifting off from the support flange 72 by the lower curved edge section 50 of the inner wall 32 forming the fillet.
  • FIG. 4 shows the arrangement of the slide rail 76 of a pull-out guide 78 that guides the drawer in a cabinet body.
  • This running rail 76 can have the usual holding tongue at its rear end, which is formed by a material section stamped out of the material of the running rail itself and formed by two edging. This retaining tongue is inserted into an associated bore or recess in the corner connector 20 in order to fix the inner end of the running rail 76.
  • a resilient latching tongue 80 (FIG.
  • This resilient tongue can - with sufficient elasticity of the plastic used for the production of the lower profile section 14 - be an integral part of the lower profile section 14, so that the attachment of a separate metallic tongue to the angle leg 58 is not necessary.
