Definitions

  • the object of the invention was to find a way to avoid this nuisance.
  • the invention now relates to a chloride-free catalyst, in the use of which there is no more odor nuisance and which contains magnesium and fluoborate ions in a molar weight ratio of Mg 2 ⁇ : BF4 ⁇ of 1: 0.2 to 1: 2.
  • the catalyst is preferably used as an aqueous solution which contains 15 to 40% by weight, preferably 20 to 35%, of salt.
  • the magnesium and fluoborate ions can be in salt form, for example as magnesium sulfate, -phosphate, -nitrate, -acetate, -glycolate, -citrate or -adipate or sodium, lithium, potassium or zinc fluoroborate.
  • the use of magnesium sulfate, magnesium nitrate and sodium fluoroborate is particularly preferred.
  • the catalyst is used in high finishing, e.g. usual for magnesium chloride, application amounts are in the range of approximately 30 to 50 parts of a 20% solution, for example, based on 100 parts of the crosslinking agent (45% solution). There are no deviations from the known methods in the new catalyst.
  • a BW fabric (100 g / m2) is impregnated with the following solutions using a padder.
  • Catalyst solution 1 8.7 parts MgSO4 calz. 2.0 parts NaBF4 29.3 H2O
  • Catalyst solution 2 8.7 parts MgSO4 calz. 2.5 parts of Zn (BF4) 2 29.5 H2O
  • Catalyst solution 3 4.0 parts MgSO4 calz. 5.0 parts of Mg (NO3) 2 ⁇ 6 H2O 0.5 parts NaBF4 20.5 H2O
  • the finished goods were packed airtight in a polyethylene film, stored for 24 hours and then subjected to an odor test.

Description

    Figure imgb0001

    2,0 Teile NaBF₄
    29,3 H₂O
    Katalysator-Lösung 2: 8,7 Teile MgSO₄ calz.
    2,5 Teile Zn(BF₄)₂
    29,5 H₂O
    Katalysator-Lösung 3: 4,0 Teile MgSO₄ calz.
    5,0 Teile Mg(NO₃)₂ · 6 H₂O
    0,5 Teile NaBF₄
    20,5 H₂O
