Abstract

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine Fackel mit einem Brennkörper aus Paraffin und einem als Docht dienenden Mantel (12) aus Papier. Mit derartigen Fackeln hat es im Stand der Technik immer Probleme durch das starke Abtropfen und Abfließen des durch die Flamme verflüssigten Paraffins, sowie durch eine relativ kurze Brennzeit gegeben. Hier schafft die Erfindung Abhilfe durch eine feuerhemmende Wendel (14), die schraubenförmig derart um den ummantelten Brennkörper gelegt ist, daß ein schraubenförmiger Zwischenraum (16) entsteht

Description

  • Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine Fackel nach dem Oberbegriff des Anspruchs 1.
  • Derartige Fackeln sind im Stand der Technik in unterschiedlichen Ausführungsformen bekannt.
    Diese weisen jedoch stets vom Benutzer als sehr negativ empfundene Eigenschaften auf.
  • Nämlich erstens das starke Abtropfen und Abfließen des durch die Flamme verflüssigten Paraffins und als Endergebnis das über dem Boden oder den pflanzen verteilte und wieder erstarrte Paraffin. Die Entfernung der Verschmutzung ist mühsam und zeitraubend.
    Zweitens führt dies so gestörte Brennverhalten zwangsläufig zu einer erheblichen Verkürzung der Brennzeit durch Fortfall des ungenutzt abfließenden Paraffins.
    Drittens funktioniert der häufig aus Baumwolle bestehende Docht selbst bei nur geringer Zugluftbewegung und dergleichen schon nicht.
  • Der vorliegenden Erfindung liegt deshalb die Aufgabe zugrunde, die eingangs erwähnte Fackel derart zu verbessern, daß sie die geschilderten Nachteile mit Sicherheit vermeidet, d.h. eine Fackel geschaffen wird, die ein ungestörtes, sicheres Brennverhalten mit langer Brennzeit aufweist, ohne daß verflüssigtes Paraffin die Flamme erstickt oder den Boden verunreinigt.
  • Diese Aufgabe wird überraschenderweise durch die im Anspruch 1 gekennzeichnete Fackel gelöst. Die Erfindung setzt also eine feuerhemmende Wendel ein, die schraubenförmig um den ummantelten Brennkörper herumgeführt ist. Diese sorgt dafür, daß ein geregelter Abbrand stattfindet, bei welchem auch der einseitige Abbrand eingeschränkt ist. Es dürfte einleuchten, daß im Bereich der Wendel der Abbrand gehemmt ist, während der ebenfalls schraubenförmig vorgesehene Zwischenraum für den Fortgang des Abbrandes sorgt, da er nicht von der feuerhemmenden Wendel abgedeckt ist.
  • Vorteilhafterweise besteht die Wendel aus Packpapier, das mit Natrium- und/oder Kaliumsilikat getränkt ist. Beide sog. Löschmittel sorgen für ein gutes Haften am ummantelten Brennkörper. Andere Chemikalien sind jedoch auch für den Fachmann denkbar.
  • Für den Fall, daß die Steigung der Wendel gleichbleibend ist und der Zwischenraum in axialer Sicht gleich bleibt, d.h. die einzelnen Wickel der Wendel einen gleichen Abstand voneinander aufweisen, ist ein gleichmäßiger Abbrand sichergestellt. Verändert man demgegenüber den Zwischenraum bzw. den Abstand zwischen den einzelnen Wickeln der Wendel durch Veränderung der Steigung, so läßt sich die Abbranddauer verringern bzw. steigern.
  • Weitere Vorteile und Merkmale gehen aus den vorstehenden Unteransprüchen hervor, die auch gemeinsam mit dem Hauptanspruch von erfinderischer Bedeutung sein können.
  • Im folgenden wird ein besonderes Ausführungsbeispiel der vorliegenden Erfindung anhand der Zeichnung näher erläutert.

    Die Fackel nach der Erfindung ist allgemein mit 10 bezeichnet. In dieser bevorzugten Ausführungsform weist sie die Form eines an sich bekannten Streichholzes auf. Sie besitzt eine Länge von 60 cm, bei einem quadratischen Querschnitt des Brennkörpers von 32 x 32 mm. Die Zierhülle 22 ist holzfarben und besteht aus Karton, der über dem mit einer Wendel 14 und mit Mantel 12 versehenen Brennkörper angeordnet ist. Die Zierhülle 22 folgt dem geregelten Abbrand des quadratischen Brennkörpers. Am oberen Ende des Brennkörpers ist ein in etwa runder, roter Zündkopf 18 vorgesehen, der aus einem Gemisch von Sägemehl und Paraffin, sowie einigen paraffingetränkten Dochten 20 am oberen Kopfteil besteht, die ein Anzünden des Zündkopfes 18 erleichtern sollen. Die Anordnung der Dochte 20 im oberen Bereich soll ein gleichmäßiges Verteilen der Flamme nach allen Seiten hin bewirken. Ein Abtropfen von Paraffin aus dem Zündkopf 18 konnte bei Versuchen nicht beobachtet werden.
  • Den Abschluß bilden am unteren Ende der Fackel 10 ein eingeklebter Betonklotz 24, der eine untere längliche Ausnehmung bzw. Bohrung 26 aufweist. In diese Bohrung kann ein nicht gezeigter Holzstab eingesetzt werden, der an seinem außenliegenden Ende angespitzt ist, so daß er sich einfach in das Erdreich etc. einbringen läßt. Der Betonklotz 24 beendet den Abbrand der Fackel.
  • Es dürfte einleuchten, daß andere Größen, Formen und Farben sich für eine erfindungsgemäße Fackel ebenfalls eignen.
  • Der Ausdruck "Fackel" sollte nicht zu eng verstanden werden. Jegliche "Kerzen" und dergleichen, die vom Erfindungsgedanken Gebrauch machen, fallen ebenfalls unter den Schutzumfang des vorliegenden Patentes.

Claims (11)

  1. Fackel (10) mit einem Brennkörper aus Paraffin und einem als Docht dienenden Mantel (12) aus Papier, gekennzeichnet durch eine feuerhemmende Wendel (14), die schraubenförmig derart um den ummantelten Brennkörper gelegt ist, daß ein schraubenförmiger Zwischenraum (16) entsteht.
  2. Fackel nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Wendel (14) aus Packpapier besteht, das mit Natrium- und/oder Kaliumsilikat getränkt ist.
  3. Fackel nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Steigung der Wendel (14) gleichbleibend ist oder sich über die Länge der Fackel (10) verändert.
  4. Fackel nach Anspruch 1, gekennzeichnet durch einen Zündkopf (18), bestehend aus einem Gemisch von Sägemehl und Paraffin, sowie einigen paraffingetränkten Dochten (20) am Zündkopf (18).
  5. Fackel nach einem oder mehreren der vorstehenden Ansprüche 1 bis 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Paraffin-Brennkörper einen runden oder quadratischen Querschnitt aufweist.
  6. Fackel nach Anspruch 1 bis 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Mantel (12) aus Well- und/oder Kartonagenpapier besteht.
  7. Fackel nach Anspruch 1 bis 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der mit Mantel (12) und Wendel (14) versehene Brennkörper von einer Zierhülle (22) umgeben ist.
  8. Fackel nach Anspruch 1 bis 7, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß am unteren Ende der Fackel (10) ein Betonklotz (24) mit einer Bohrung (20) eingeklebt ist, in die ein Holzstab einsetzbar ist.
  9. Fackel nach Anspruch 8, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Holzstab an seinem außen liegenden Ende angespitzt ist.
  10. Fackel nach Anspruch 1 bis 9, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Brennkörper eine Länge zwischen 40 und 80 cm, insbesondere 60 cm, aufweist und der quadratische Querschnitt des Brennkörpers zwischen 20 x 20 und 40 x 40 cm liegt, insbesondere 32 x 32 mm, wobei die Form eines an sich bekannten Streichholzes vorgesehen ist.
  11. Fackel nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die feuerhemmende Wendel (14) auf den Mantel aufgedruckt ist.
