Definitions
- the invention relates to a process for dyeing with reactive dyes of textile fabrics made of cellulose fibers and wool and silk.
- Dyeing processes for textile fabrics using reactive dyes are generally known.
- One procedure is the so-called pull-out procedure. This is carried out on wide dyeing machines (jiggers) or strand dyeing machines (reel runners, jet dyeing machines, etc.) with gradual addition of dye and alkali to the dye bath and temperature setting.
- the disadvantage of this process is that it is a batch process, only allows for limited batch sizes and there is a risk of end and side unevenness, and this process is also very time-consuming.
- Another known process is the so-called two-phase process.
- the dye is applied by padding on the foulard, intermediate drying, then application of alkali and fixation by steaming, thermal treatment or dwell time.
- This process is only interesting for large dyeing batches, since there are actually two application processes that are separated by intermediate treatment.
- the invention of the block cold dwell process was a great step forward in reactive piece staining.
- the padding liquor for coloring which contains the alkali in addition to the dissolved reactive dye, can only be kept stable with a high proportion of water glass (Na2 Si O3).
- the water glass not only pollutes the wastewater, but also gets stuck in the pipes and sewers.
- the mixed liquor remaining in the foulard at the end of the fouling goes into the waste water, since it cannot be reused.
- Water glass also attaches to foulard and deflection rollers; there is incrustation and damage.
- a major disadvantage of water glass is the difficulty in washing it out of the tissue after the dwell time, which can only be overcome with increased expenditure of water and energy.
- the object of the invention is to create a new method which does not have the disadvantages of the known methods.
- dye solution and alkali solution are applied separately, but immediately one after the other in a predetermined (precisely defined) amount to the dry weight of the fabric in one machine run, that each of the two application partial amounts is less than 100%, based on the dry weight of the fabric, and that the total weight of both application amounts is about 80 to 100%.
- the dye solution and the alkali solution are applied separately one after the other and continuously by a machine arrangement.
- the execution of this method requires that a precisely defined and reproducible amount of liquid can be applied evenly in a percentage relationship to the weight of the fabric, in two directly successive applications. This condition is fulfilled e.g. the magnetic foulard (Magnoroll), where two units can be connected directly to form a machine unit.
- Magnoroll magnetic foulard
- the application quantities can be varied, in the first stage for the dye solution between 50 and 90% with or without dipping the fabric and in the immediately following second stage for the alkali solution from 10 to 50% (the weight of the fabric) without dipping to avoid the detachment of dye.
- the new dyeing process is of particular ecological and economic importance, since it works without water glass and there are still no residual liquors that are harmful to the environment.

Abstract
