Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a two-part closure made of plastic for a container containing a flowable substance, according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • a closure which enables a metered delivery of the liquid content of the container.
  • the disadvantage of this closure is that it has a dead space that is not rinsed by the liquid when it escapes.
  • a generic closure according to US Pat. No. 3,216,630 also has a dead space. Parts of the liquid can remain there for a long time, which is particularly inadmissible for liquids with limited shelf life, for example because of spontaneous hardening or other changes, for example with certain one-component adhesives, fats, foods, etc.
  • a further disadvantage of these closures is that they have a pouring area where a liquid residue remains after the liquid has ended, which is then in longer contact with the outside air. Again, this is inadmissible for liquids that cure or otherwise change in contact with the outside air, for example in the case of one-component adhesives that cure in the air, greases that become rancid, or foods that dry out.
  • EP-A-0296103 From EP-A-0296103 a closure is known which has a stuffing element which, in the closed state of the closure, stuffs the upper opening of the upper part. This is to prevent that there is an area of the closure where a liquid residue remains after the liquid has ended, which is then in longer contact with the outside air.
  • the disadvantage here is that after the liquid has stopped flowing, a drop of liquid still bridges the upper opening of the upper part together with the stuffing element, especially if the liquid is so viscous is that even a large drop cannot be removed by shaking it off.
  • the closure according to EP-A-0296103 is soiled and / or glued by this drop.
  • the closure according to EP-A-0296103 has a dead space which is not rinsed by the liquid when it escapes. Otherwise, the closure according to EP-A-0296103 is provided with predetermined breaking points or flexible parts and is therefore correspondingly expensive to manufacture.
  • the object of the present invention is to provide a closure of the type mentioned at the outset, which has no dead space not rinsed when the liquid emerges from it and no pouring area which, after the liquid exit has ended, makes it possible for a liquid residue to remain in contact with the outside air, furthermore none appreciable formation of a drop bridging the upper opening of the upper part, and is also inexpensive to produce.
  • the closure according to the invention is constructed in two parts and is essentially rotationally symmetrical, so that it can be produced inexpensively.
  • valve pin and the valve tube are both frustoconical in shape with different cone angles and are spaced apart from one another, compared to known closures the ability of the closure to meter the liquid by twisting, in particular the setting of the metering takes place more progressively .
  • the two cylinder sections ensure the sealing of the upper part against the lower part with the help of the seal curvature.
  • the liquid flows past the connecting webs within the conical intermediate part.
  • the cylinder sections are in the middle area of the lock between the thread and the valve, and the upper ends of the cylinder sections are approximately opposite each other in the vicinity of the lower end of the conical intermediate part.
  • the preferred embodiment of the sealing curvature as a bead stiffens it very much, which further improves the sealing.
  • the upper opening of the upper part is plugged through the sealing part. If the sealing part is dimensioned such that its upper end is approximately flush with the upper opening of the upper part, then the substance that was expelled from the upper part when the closure was screwed on forms a residue in the form of a bead, the, too if it hardens, the operator can easily remove it with the fingertip or with the nail.
  • the sealing part is not only inserted into the upper opening of the upper part when the closure is screwed on, but is further pushed forward through the upper part so that its upper end projects beyond the upper part when the closure is fully screwed down, then the Any liquid remaining in the area of the upper opening is pushed away and only a little residue can remain and harden there. In any case, no hardening plug can form.
  • the sealing part expands the upper opening of the upper part against the elasticity of the plastic when it is inserted into the upper opening of the upper part, since its diameter is larger than that of the opening when the closure is screwed on. This results in self-cleaning of the upper opening and an improvement in the seal.
  • the rotation of the closure is allowed limited.
  • the closure cannot open, so that no uncontrolled dispensing of liquid can take place, which would be very dangerous for the people around, in particular with cyanoacrylate adhesives.
  • the determination of the angle of rotation and the two end positions of the closure enables the various parts of the closure to be dimensioned exactly in such a way that the sealing part continuously releases the opening of the closure and the valve tube more and more when screwing on, which achieves optimal metering sensitivity, and in the screwed end position precisely compared to the upper part with the advantages that were explained in the previous.
  • the interaction of the baffle and the rib also allows markings to be made on both parts of the closure, the interaction of which allows an operator to adjust the dosage accurately and repeatably.
  • this measure has the advantage that an undesired spontaneous or accidental screwing is prevented.
  • this measure has the advantage that the initial unscrewing is slowed down so that the gases contained in the container cannot suddenly escape, thus reducing the risk of splashes of cyanoacrylic adhesive, for example, getting into the operator's eyes.
  • valve tube Since the closure according to the invention is opened and closed by rotation and is self-cleaning, its tip need not be accessible, which makes it possible to design the valve tube on the outside as a Luer cone, which thus results in a standard connector part, very easily connectable to the hoses, needles, etc. are.
  • closure according to the invention is placed on a container, the dimensions of which in the It is a significant advantage of the invention that the closure with the thumb and forefinger of the same hand holding the container can be opened and closed, ie the closure according to the invention enables one-hand operation.
  • the other hand remains free, for example to hold parts during gluing work.
  • FIGS. 7, 8 and 9 show the closure in longitudinal section in its screwed or screwed-on state and in FIG. 9 additionally an upper part of a container.
  • the closure according to the invention is intended to interact with a container containing a flowable substance, either in order to seal the container tightly or to allow the flowable substance to exit the container through the closure, for example under the influence of a gas pressure or a force Piston on the container if it is stiff, or by squeezing a flexible container by hand.
  • a lower part 1 (see FIGS. 1, 3 and 5) and an upper part 2 (see FIGS. 2, 4 and 6) of the closure according to the invention (see FIGS. 7 and 8) are both in relation to an axis of symmetry A of Closure essentially rotationally symmetrical.

These markings are designed, for example, as outwardly projecting elements, but could also be designed as an embossing pattern visible from the outside or in some other way. Several or only one marking can be provided.

  • the sealing curvature 111 is formed on the cylinder section 110 as a bead and, starting therefrom, is directed radially outwards.
  • the upper part 2 comprises a screw cylinder 220 which can be placed on the screw cylinder of the lower part 1.
  • the screw cylinder 220 can be enclosed at the lower end by a removable guarantee ring (not shown).
  • the guarantee ring interacts with projections arranged on the lower part 1, in the present training example with the four outwardly projecting markings 116, in order to twist the upper part 2 relative to the lower part 1 and thus to open the To prevent closure.
  • the use of the contents of the container is thus prevented as long as the guarantee ring is not removed. Once the guarantee ring has been removed, it cannot be replaced on the clasp.
  • the lateral surface 207 ends at the lower end 203 by forming the edge of a lower opening 205 and at the upper end 204 by forming the edge of an upper opening 206.
  • a mark 216, 216 ' which is visible from the outside is arranged.
  • This mark is shown in the illustrated training example both on the approximately cylindrical outer wall of the upper part 2 (marking 216) and essentially visible from above on an upward facing surface of the upper part 2 (marking 216 ').
  • This marking is designed, for example, as an embossed pattern visible from the outside or above, but could also be designed as an element protruding outwards or in some other way.
  • One or more markings can be provided.
  • the markings on the lower part 1 and on the upper part 2 are arranged with respect to one another such that they are opposite one another in the assembled state of the closure. If the closure is screwed as far as it will go, at least one of the markings 116 arranged on the lower part 1 lies opposite one of the markings 216, 216 'arranged on the upper part 2.
  • a cylinder section 210 is arranged axially symmetrically, which cooperates with the sealing curvature 111 of the cylinder section 110 of the lower part 1, in order to ensure a good seal between the lower part 1 and the upper part 2 against air entry and the exit of the liquid in the container.
  • valve pin 109 can be axially displaced relative to valve tube 209 by rotating upper part 2 relative to lower part 1.
  • the two cylinder sections 110 and 210 coaxially enclose one another over at least part of their length, and they are axially offset relative to one another by rotating the upper part 2 relative to the lower part 1, the two cylinder sections 110 and 210 remain but always sealed to each other.

  • valve tube 209 is held on the cylinder section 210 of the upper part 2 and above it with the aid of an essentially conical intermediate part 208.
  • the cylinder section 210 which is arranged on the outside in the assembled state of the closure, is thus located in the central region of the upper part 2 between the internal thread 201 and the valve tube 209.
  • the upper ends 112 and 212 of the two cylinder sections 110 and 210 lie opposite one another at substantially the same height when the closure is in the assembled state and is fully screwed on.

  • valve pin 109 and the valve tube 209 are dimensioned such that in the assembled state of the closure and when it is fully screwed in, the valve pin 109 is coaxially enclosed by the valve tube 209 essentially over the entire length of the valve tube 209.
  • the length of the valve pin 109 and the length of the valve tube 209 in relation to the stroke of the upper part 2 relative to the lower part 1 are dimensioned such that in the assembled state of the closure and when it is fully screwed on, the valve pin 109 lies essentially outside the valve tube 209 .
  • a sealing part 113 is provided, which is formed axially thereon as an extension of the valve pin 109. In the assembled state of the closure and when it is fully screwed on, the upper opening 206 of the upper part 2 is plugged by the sealing part 113.

  • the cone angle of the valve pin 109 is more acute than the cone angle of the valve tube 209, so that in the assembled state of the closure and when it is fully screwed on, the valve pin 109 is always at a distance from the valve tube 209. This facilitates a meterable opening of the valve composed of the valve pin 109 and the valve tube 209.
