Definitions
- the present invention relates to a two-part closure made of plastic for a container containing a flowable substance, according to the preamble of claim 1.
- a closure of the above-mentioned type which enables a metered delivery of the liquid content of the container.
- the disadvantage of this closure is that it has a dead space that is not rinsed by the liquid when it escapes. Parts of the liquid can remain there for a long time, which is particularly inadmissible for liquids with limited shelf life, for example because of spontaneous hardening or other changes, for example with certain one-component adhesives, fats, foods, etc.
- a further disadvantage of this closure is that it has a pouring area where, after the liquid has ended, a liquid residue remains which is then in longer contact with the outside air. Again, this is inadmissible for liquids that cure or otherwise change in contact with the outside air, for example in the case of one-component adhesives that cure in the air, greases that become rancid, or foods that dry out.
- EP-A-0296103 From EP-A-0296103 a closure is known which has a stuffing element which, in the closed state of the closure, stuffs the upper opening of the upper part. This is to prevent that there is an area of the closure where a liquid residue remains after the liquid has ended, which is then in longer contact with the outside air.
- the disadvantage here is that after the liquid has stopped flowing, a drop of liquid still bridges the upper opening of the upper part together with the stuffing element, especially if the liquid is so viscous is that even a large drop cannot be removed by shaking it off.
- the closure according to EP-A-0296103 is soiled and / or glued by this drop.
- the closure according to EP-A-0296103 has a dead space which is not rinsed by the liquid when it escapes. Otherwise, the closure according to EP-A-0296103 is provided with predetermined breaking points or flexible parts and is therefore correspondingly expensive to manufacture.
- the object of the present invention is to provide a closure of the type mentioned at the outset, which has no dead space not rinsed when the liquid emerges from it and no pouring area which, after the liquid exit has ended, enables a residual liquid to remain in contact with the outside air, and furthermore none appreciable formation of a drop bridging the upper opening of the upper part, and is also inexpensive to produce.
- the closure according to the invention is constructed in two parts and is essentially rotationally symmetrical, so that it can be produced inexpensively.
- valve pin and the valve tube are both frustoconical in shape with different cone angles and are at a distance from one another, compared with known closures, improves the ability of the closure to meter the liquid by twisting, in particular the setting of the metering takes place more progressively.
- the two cylinder sections ensure the sealing of the upper part against the lower part with the help of the seal curvature.
- the liquid flows past the connecting webs within the conical intermediate part.
- the cylinder sections are in the middle of the Ver Conclusion between the thread and the valve, and the upper ends of the cylinder portions are approximately opposite each other in the vicinity of the lower end of the conical intermediate part.
- the preferred embodiment of the sealing curvature as a bead stiffens it very much, which further improves the sealing.
- the upper opening of the upper part is plugged through the sealing part. If the sealing part is dimensioned such that its upper end is approximately flush with the upper opening of the upper part, then the substance that was expelled from the upper part when the closure was screwed on forms a residue in the form of a bead, the, too if it hardens, the operator can easily remove it with the fingertip or with the nail.
- the sealing part is not only inserted into the upper opening of the upper part when the closure is screwed on, but is further pushed forward through the upper part so that its upper end projects beyond the upper part when the closure is fully screwed down, then the Any liquid remaining in the area of the upper opening is pushed away and only a little residue can remain and harden there. In any case, no hardening plug can form.
- the sealing part expands the upper opening of the upper part against the elasticity of the plastic when it is inserted into the upper opening of the upper part, since its diameter is larger than that of the opening when the closure is screwed on. This results in self-cleaning of the upper opening and an improvement in the seal.
- the rotation of the closure is allowed limited.
- the closure cannot open, so that no uncontrolled dispensing of liquid can take place, which would be very dangerous for the people around, in particular with cyanoacrylate adhesives.
- the determination of the angle of rotation and the two end positions of the closure enables the various parts of the closure to be dimensioned exactly in such a way that the sealing part continuously releases the opening of the closure and the valve tube more and more when screwing on, thus achieving an optimal dosage sensitivity, and in the screwed end position precisely compared to the upper part with the advantages that were explained in the previous.
- the interaction of the baffle and the rib also allows markings to be made on both parts of the closure, the interaction of which allows an operator to adjust the dosage accurately and repeatably.
- this measure has the advantage that an undesired spontaneous or accidental screwing is prevented.
- this measure has the advantage that the initial unscrewing is slowed down so that the gases contained in the container cannot suddenly escape, thus reducing the risk of splashes of cyanoacrylate adhesive, for example, getting into the operator's eyes.
- the closure according to the invention is opened and closed by rotation and is self-cleaning, its tip need not be accessible, which makes it possible to design the valve tube on the outside as a Luer cone and thus results in a standard connecting part to which hoses, needles, etc. can be very easily connected .
- closure according to the invention is placed on a container, the dimensions of which in the It is a significant advantage of the invention that the closure with the thumb and forefinger of the same hand holding the container can be opened and closed, ie the closure according to the invention enables one-hand operation.
- the other hand remains free, for example to hold parts during gluing work.
- FIGS. 7, 8 and 9 show the closure in longitudinal section in its screwed or screwed-on state and in FIG. 9 additionally an upper part of a container.
- the closure according to the invention is intended to interact with a container containing a flowable substance, either in order to seal the container tightly or to allow the flowable substance to exit the container through the closure, for example under the influence of a gas pressure or a force Piston on the container if it is stiff, or by squeezing a flexible container by hand.
- a lower part 1 (see FIGS. 1, 3 and 5) and an upper part 2 (see FIGS. 2, 4 and 6) of the closure according to the invention (see FIGS. 7 and 8) are both in relation to an axis of symmetry A of Closure essentially rotationally symmetrical.
- the lower part 1 and the upper part 2 are both made of plastic.
- the lower part 1 comprises a screw cylinder 120 which can be placed on a container 127.
- the upper part of the container 127 with a collar 128 is visible in FIGS. 7 and 8.
- a fastening member 102, 102 ' is provided, for example in the form of clamping ribs 102 and locking ribs 102'.
- the lateral surface 107 ends at the lower end 103 by forming the edge of a lower opening 105 and at the upper end 104 by forming the edge of an upper opening 106.
- outwardly projecting markings 116 are arranged at regular intervals from one another. These markings are designed, for example, as outwardly projecting elements, but could also be designed as an embossing pattern visible from the outside or in some other way. Several or only one marking can be provided.
- a cylinder section 110 is arranged axially symmetrically above the screw cylinder 120 and is provided with a sealing curvature 111 in the vicinity of its upper end 112.
- the sealing curvature 111 is formed on the cylinder section 110 as a bead and, starting therefrom, is directed radially outwards.
- the upper part 2 comprises a screw cylinder 220 which can be placed on the screw cylinder of the lower part 1.
- the screw cylinder 220 can be enclosed at the lower end by a removable guarantee ring (not shown).
- the guarantee ring interacts with projections arranged on the lower part 1, in the present training example with the four outwardly projecting markings 116, in order to twist the upper part 2 relative to the lower part 1 and thus to open the To prevent closure.
- the use of the contents of the container is thus prevented as long as the guarantee ring is not removed. Once the guarantee ring has been removed, it cannot be reattached to the clasp.
- the lateral surface 207 ends at the lower end 203 by forming the edge of a lower opening 205 and at the upper end 204 by forming the edge of an upper opening 206.
- a mark 216, 216 ' which is visible from the outside is arranged.
- This mark is shown in the illustrated training example both on the approximately cylindrical outer wall of the upper part 2 (marking 216) and essentially visible from above on an upward facing surface of the upper part 2 (marking 216 ').
- This marking is designed, for example, as an embossed pattern visible from the outside or above, but could also be designed as an element protruding outwards or in some other way.
- One or more markings can be provided.
- the markings on the lower part 1 and on the upper part 2 are arranged with respect to one another such that they are opposite one another in the assembled state of the closure. If the closure is screwed as far as it will go, at least one of the markings 116 arranged on the lower part 1 lies opposite one of the markings 216, 216 'arranged on the upper part 2.
- a cylinder section 210 is arranged axially symmetrically, which cooperates with the sealing curvature 111 of the cylinder section 110 of the lower part 1, in order to ensure a good seal between the lower part 1 and the upper part 2 against air entry and the exit of the liquid in the container.
- valve pin 109 can be axially displaced relative to valve tube 209 by rotating upper part 2 relative to lower part 1.
- the two cylinder sections 110 and 210 are coaxially enclosed with one another over at least part of their length, and they are displaced axially relative to one another by rotating the upper part 2 relative to the lower part 1, the two cylinder sections 110 and 210 remain but always sealed to each other.
- valve pin 109 An axially arranged, upwardly directed valve pin 109 is held on the cylinder section 110 of the lower part 1 and above it with the aid of three connecting webs 108.
- the cylinder section 110 which is arranged on the inside in the assembled state of the closure, is thus located in the central region of the lower part 1 between the external thread 101 and the valve pin 109.
- valve tube 209 is held on the cylinder section 210 of the upper part 2 and above it with the aid of an essentially conical intermediate part 208.
- the cylinder section 210 which is arranged on the outside in the assembled state of the closure, is thus located in the central region of the upper part 2 between the internal thread 201 and the valve tube 209.
- the upper ends 112 and 212 of the two cylinder sections 110 and 210 lie opposite one another at substantially the same height when the closure is in the assembled state and is fully screwed on.
- the external thread 101 and the internal thread 201 together form a screw thread with a given pitch, which defines a stroke of the upper part 2 relative to the lower part 1 in accordance with the angle of rotation of the upper part 2 relative to the lower part 1.
- valve pin 109 and the valve tube 209 are dimensioned such that in the assembled state of the closure and when it is fully screwed in, the valve pin 109 is coaxially enclosed by the valve tube 209 essentially over the entire length of the valve tube 209.
- the length of the valve pin 109 and the length of the valve tube 209 in relation to the stroke of the upper part 2 relative to the lower part 1 are dimensioned such that in the assembled state of the closure and when it is fully screwed on, the valve pin 209 is essentially outside the valve tube 209 .
- valve pin 109 At the top of valve pin 109 is a seal Part 113 is provided, which is formed axially thereon as an extension of the valve pin 109. In the assembled state of the closure and when it is fully screwed on, the upper opening 206 of the upper part 2 is plugged by the sealing part 113.
- valve pin 109 and the valve tube 209 are both frustoconical. Both taper towards the upper opening 206 of the upper part 2 (viewed in the assembled state of the closure).
- the cone angle of the valve pin 109 is more acute than the cone angle of the valve tube 209, so that in the assembled state of the closure and when it is fully screwed on, the valve pin 109 is always at a distance from the valve tube 209. This facilitates a meterable opening of the valve composed of the valve pin 109 and the valve tube 209.
- the sealing part 113 can be cylindrical as in the embodiment shown in FIGS. 1, 7 and 8. As in a variant shown in FIG. 3, the sealing part 113 can also be designed as a continuous conical extension of the conical valve pin 109.
- the sealing part 113 is dimensioned approximately as long as the upper part 2 is thick at its upper end 204 in the region of its upper opening 206. Therefore, an upper end 114 of the sealing part 113 is approximately flush with the upper end 204 of the upper part 2 when the closure is in the assembled state and fully screwed, i.e. the sealing part 113 then hardly protrudes axially.
- the sealing part 113 is dimensioned longer than the upper part 2 is thick at its upper end 204 in the area of its upper opening 206. Therefore, in FIG. 9, an upper end 114 of the sealing part 113 projects above the upper end 204 of the upper part 2 in the assembled state of the closure and when it is fully screwed on, ie the sealing part 113 then protrudes axially by a predetermined projection height.
- the diameter of the sealing part 113 on the lower part 1 is 0.01 to 0.25 mm larger than the diameter of the upper opening 206 on the upper part 2.
- the sealing part can 113 can thus only be introduced into the upper opening 206 against the effect of the elasticity of the material of the plastic.
- the material of the plastic is chosen accordingly with regard to its elasticity. In order to facilitate the insertion of the sealing part 113 into the upper opening 206, this can, as can be seen in FIG. 4, be provided with a conical widening on its underside.
- an outer wall 217 of the valve tube 209 is designed as a standard cone, for example as a Luer cone.
- the axially attached cylinder section 110 projects into the screw cylinder 120 at a radial distance, such that an arch 122 with an essentially cylindrical inner surface 123 is formed between the screw cylinder 120 and the cylinder section 110.
- a rib 115 is arranged which is parallel to the axis A, is directed radially inward and is at a distance from the axis A.
- the rib 115 is designed as a flat wall which divides the arch 122 by connecting the cylinder section 110 to the cylindrical inner surface 123.
- a downward chicane 215 Arranged on the upper part 2, approximately as an extension of the cylinder section 210, at its lower end 224 is a downward chicane 215 which is parallel to the axis A, is at a distance from the axis A and essentially as a combination of a full sector and the remaining gap one cylindrical outer surface is formed.
- the chicane 215 is provided with a downward-pointing tip 225 at its lower end near the front edge when it is screwed in and with a tail-shaped extension at its upper end near the rear edge when it is screwed down.
- the rib 115 and the chicane 215 cooperate in order to limit the rotation of the upper part 2 relative to the lower part 1 by abutting one another.
- the angle of rotation of the upper part 2 relative to the lower part 1, which is permitted by the rib 115 and the chicane 215, is in principle less than a full revolution; in the illustrated embodiment, the width of the rib 115 and the arc length of the chicane 215 are selected such that the permitted angle of rotation is approximately a three-quarter turn .
- the corresponding stroke of the upper part 2 relative to the lower part 1 in the configuration shown in FIGS. 1 to 8 is dimensioned such that the sealing part 113, when the closure is assembled and fully screwed, just stuffs the upper opening 206, in such a way that the upper end 114 of the sealing part 113 is approximately flush with the upper opening 206 in the axial direction.
- the stroke of the upper part 2 relative to the lower part 1 is longer than the sum of the thickness of the upper part 2 (at its upper end 204 in the region of its upper opening 206) and the projection height of the sealing part 113 (above the upper one End 204 of the upper part 2 in the assembled state of the closure and when it is fully screwed).
- This ensures that the sealing part 113, even at the twist angle limited by the rib 115 and the chicane 215, fully crosses the upper opening 206 when the closure is mounted and fully screwed in such that the upper end 114 of the sealing part 113 is axially above the top opening 206 is located.
- lower part 1 should always be dimensioned such that, when the closure is assembled and when it is screwed on as far as it will go, the upper end 114 of the sealing part 113 is withdrawn from the upper opening 206 of the upper part 2 and from most of the valve tube 209 . Then the upper opening 206 and for the most part the valve tube 209 are released for the flow of the flowable substance contained in the container.
- a cam 118 which is arranged on the cylindrical inner surface 123 of the arch 122 at a distance from the axis A and parallel to it and is directed radially inwards.
- the length of the cam 118 in the direction parallel to the axis A is dimensioned such that the cam 118 interacts with the baffle 215 when the closure is installed and is in a position between fully screwed on and at most a quarter screwed on.
- the interaction of the cam 118 with the baffle 215 is a friction that can be overcome against the effect of the elasticity of the material and prevents the upper part 2 from rotating relative to the lower part 1.
- FIG. 7 and 8 show the entire closure according to the invention in an axial longitudinal section.
- FIGS. 7 and 9 show the closure in the closed state, FIG. 9 also showing a container 127.
- the upper part 2 is screwed completely onto the lower part 1 by means of the external thread 101 and the internal thread 201 as a guide and fastening.
- the container 127 is held with its collar 128 by the clamping ribs 102 and locking ribs 102 'existing fastening member 102, 102' in the lower part 1 of the closure.
- the chicane 215 stops at the rib 115. It is particularly visible how the upper opening 206 is penetrated by the sealing part 113 and is thus completely closed, the valve pin 109 is completely enclosed by the valve tube 209 and largely fills it, and the upper end 114 of the sealing part 113 in FIG.
- the dosing space between the lower part 1 and the upper part 2 extends in the axial direction from the sealing by the bead 111 between the cylinder sections 110 and 210 to the sealing between the sealing part 113 and the upper opening 206 against the effect of the elasticity of the material.
- This dosing room is completely sealed from the outside air and has a very small volume. It contains flowable substance both before the first use of the closure and afterwards or, for example, from the manufacture of the closure, possibly a gas from the container 127, which gas can be a protective gas which was also filled in when the container 127 was filled .
- FIG. 8 shows the closure in the open state.
- the upper part 2 is screwed as far as possible onto the lower part 1.
- the container 127 is held with its collar 128 by the clamping ribs 102 and locking ribs 102 'existing fastening member 102, 102' in the lower part 1 of the closure.
- the chicane 215 is not visible because it lies above the drawing, ie in front of the rib 115, in the viewing direction.
- the chicane 215 is in turn at the rib 115 in the stop, in the situation of FIG. 8, however, on the other side of the rib 115 and with its other edge than in the situation of FIG. 7.
- This stop prevents complete unscrewing, lifting and Removal of the upper part 2 from the lower part 1. It is particularly visible how the upper opening 206 is completely open and released by the sealing part 113, the upper end 114 of the sealing part 113 is withdrawn from the upper opening 206 and the valve pin 109 is withdrawn from the valve tube 209.
- the flowable substance from the container 127 can flow freely through the upper opening 106 of the lower part 1 into the dosing space between the lower part 1 and the upper part 2.
- the outside air is only in contact with the substance from the container 127 at the upper opening 206 and does not come into contact with the substance in container 127 as long as there is overpressure in container 127, that is, as long as container 127, when it is stiff, is under gas pressure or piston force, and if it is flexible, is pressed by hand.
- the upper opening 206 is largely or completely clear from the sealing part 113, but the valve pin 109 is only partially enclosed by the valve tube 209 and partially fills it, depending on the angle of rotation from the upper part 2 to the lower part 1. It is precisely this dependency that enables a fine, continuously adjustable metering of the flow of the flowable substance from the container 127 through the closure according to the invention.
- the interaction of the cam 118 with the baffle 215 results in a friction which prevents unintentional rotation of the upper part 2 relative to the lower part 1 and slows down an intentional rotation, the latter in order to avoid that substance or gases contained in the container suddenly escape and endanger the operator .

Abstract
Description

- Fig. 6 den Oberteil der Fig. 2, in Untersicht;
- Fig. 7 den gesamten erfindungsgemässen Verschluss im zugeschraubten Zustand, im Schnitt, mit einer ersten besonderen Ausbildung des Abdichtungsteils;
Fig. 1, 3 und 5) und ein Oberteil 2 (vgl. Fig. 2, 4 und 6) des erfindungsgemässsen Verschlusses (vgl.
- Fig. 8 zeigt den Verschluss in geöffnetem Zustand.
