Definitions

  • the invention relates to a hand-held device for slitting and ringing decorative packaging tapes according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
  • decorative packaging tapes are used to pack gifts. For optical improvement, it is known to slit these strips in the longitudinal direction, so that a large number of narrow strips are formed. In addition, it is also common to produce so-called ring straps. Namely, when a decorative packaging tape is pulled over a sharp edge, the tape curls, and when the decorative packaging tape is additionally slit lengthwise, the resulting individual curls narrow stripes.
  • a hand-held device is known from US Pat. No. 3,883,953 which enables a decorative packaging tape to be slit.
  • the hand-held device comprises a cutting punch which is connected resiliently and movably to a counterplate, the cutting punch having a plurality of cutting elements on its side facing the counterplate in order to slit the decorative packaging tape.
  • the cutting elements are formed by pointed comb-like metal teeth.
  • the production of such metal teeth is very complex in practice because these metal teeth cannot be produced by stamping.
  • punching a burr is formed in particular in the area of the tips, so that post-treatment by filing is necessary in order to obtain sharp tips.
  • post-treatment by filing is necessary in order to obtain sharp tips.
  • such an aftertreatment is very time-consuming and therefore expensive when producing large quantities.
  • the metal teeth in the known handheld device extend transversely to the direction in which the decorative packaging tape for slitting between the Cutting punch and the counter plate is moved.
  • the result of this arrangement is that during the slitting process the decorative packaging tape moves upward into the enlarged cross section of the teeth.
  • the result is an unclean and visually unpleasant slit decorative packaging tape.
  • the tips of the metal teeth no longer come into effect, but their widened cross-section, so that the decorative packaging tape is not slit cleanly, but rather is torn open.
  • DE-A-2 657 506 describes a device which is used to cut strips from a film web.
  • the known device has a tool holder arranged between an unwinding and a winding device for the film web, in which a plurality of cutting blades arranged parallel to one another and at a distance from one another are held, which at least partially protrude from the tool holder and whose cutting edges each in the direction of movement of the film web project in the opposite direction.
  • the device also comprises a base plate with openings for the cutting blade, wherein the tool holder can be moved in a direction parallel to the base plate.
  • the known device is not suitable as a hand-held device for slitting decorative packaging tapes.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a hand-held device which enables a safe and clean slitting of decorative packaging tapes with simple and inexpensive manufacture and simple handling.
  • the cutting elements are designed as plastic cutting edges, which do not extend transversely to the relative movement between the handheld device and the decorative packaging tape, but in the direction of this relative movement.
  • the counter plate is designed as a die with holes, each individual plastic cutting edge being assigned a hole into which the plastic cutting edge in question can be inserted.
  • a cleanly slit decorative packaging tape is achieved by the measures mentioned. Since the individual plastic cutting edges can dip into the holes, it is ensured that the plastic cutting edges penetrate or pierce the decorative packaging tape, and since the plastic cutting edges extend in the direction of the relative movement between the handheld device and the decorative packaging tape, after the piercing or penetration of the decorative packaging tape the plastic cutting edges can be properly slit.
  • the plastic cutting edges have a shape in the manner of a stylet with a tip, both outer edges of each plastic cutting edge being sharp. This makes it possible to use the handheld device both right-handed and left-handed, because the sharp outer edges come into effect in both possible directions of movement in order to slit the decorative packaging tape.
  • the cutting punch and the counter plate are connected to one another and supported in the center in such a way that they form a double fork and that they can be moved parallel to one another. In their working position, the cutting punch and the counter plate lie parallel to one another, so that all plastic cutting edges penetrate into the holes at the same time, which are advantageously designed as slots.
  • This measure enables safe guidance because the cutting punch and the counter plate lie on one another in their working position without any free space.
  • the cutting punch and / or the counterplate has a sharp undercut edge on at least one of its long sides. This edge makes it possible not only to slit the decorative packaging tape but also to curl it at the same time by pulling the decorative packaging tape over the sharp edge.
  • the invention according to claim 1 also provides that the surface of the counter plate facing the cutting punch is designed as a soft surface.
  • a cutting punch 1 and a counter plate 7 are shown, which in the assembled state form a hand-held device for slitting and curling decorative packaging tapes.
  • Fig. 3 shows the cutting punch 1 and the counter pressure plate 7 in the assembled state to the handheld device.
  • the cutting punch 1 has on its side facing the counterplate 7 two rows of plastic cutting edges 2, which are each arranged at different distances from one another, so that it is possible to achieve different slot widths.
  • the plastic cutting edges 2 have a shape in the manner of a stylet with a tip and extend in the direction of the relative movement A between the hand-held device and the decorative packaging tape 9 (cf. FIG. 5).
  • the two The outer edges of each plastic cutting edge 2 are sharp, so that the direction of the relative movement A between the hand-held device and the decorative packaging tape is not important, so that both right-handed and left-handed use are possible.
  • the counter plate 7 is designed in the manner of a matrix and has holes in the form of slots 4.
  • a slot 4 is assigned to each plastic cutting edge 2 of the cutting punch 1.
  • Each plastic cutting edge 2 can thus dip into the corresponding slot 4 if, as shown in FIG. 4, the cutting punch 1 and the counter plate 7 are pressed together.
  • FIG. 3 shows a side view of the hand-held device with the cutting punch 1 according to FIG. 1 and the counter plate 7 according to FIG. 2.
  • the cutting punch 1 and the counter plate 7 are connected to one another and guided over guide pins 8 in such a way that they are parallel to one another in the direction of the arrow B are movable.
  • the movement takes place against the force of a spring 10, so that when the cutting punch 1 and the counter plate 7 are released, the rest position shown in FIG. 3 is assumed. In this rest position, a decorative packaging tape be inserted between the cutting punch 1 and the counter plate 7.
  • the cutting punch 1 and the counter plate 7 are then pressed together against the force of the spring 10, so that the working position according to FIG. 4 is assumed.
  • the plastic cutting edges 2 penetrate the decorative packaging tape 9, the plastic cutting edges 2 immersing in the slots 4.
  • the hand-held device is then moved in the direction of arrow A in FIG. 5, and during this movement the decorative packaging tape 9 is slit.
  • FIG. 3 and 4 shows a design of the hand-held device in the manner of a double fork with a central attachment and mounting
  • a hand-held device is shown in FIG. 6, which forms a simple fork. Operation and principle of this embodiment correspond to the description above. However, only a single width of the slit strips of the decorative packaging tape 9 can be achieved with the hand-held device according to FIG. 6, while the design according to FIG. 3 in the manner of a double fork allows the choice between two different widths, depending on whether the decorative packaging tape is on the left or right of the central storage is inserted through the guide pins 8.
