Definitions

  • the invention relates to a cigarette pack with a box, in particular a folding box for a group of cigarettes, a deformable partition being arranged in the box to delimit a cigarette chamber from a waste chamber for smoked cigarettes (known from US-A-2958417 ).
  • Cigarette packs are available in various designs on the market.
  • the usual structure of a cigarette pack is such that the cigarette group is received as a block in an inner blank, in particular a tin foil blank.
  • the box of the cigarette pack can be designed differently, for example as a (soft) cup or as a folding box (hinge-lid pack).
  • An outer covering made of plastic film usually surrounds the box.
  • the invention is concerned with improvements to such cigarette packs, in particular to those in which the box is designed as a hinged box.
  • the new design features deal with the problem of Waste disposal. Up until now, smoked cigarettes have usually been thrown away, often on public paths and squares. This spread of waste is particularly troublesome in the case of new (artificial) cigarettes which, after being smoked, have practically the full original length. In addition, such cigarettes contain non-rotting components.
  • a cigarette pack with an integrated ashtray is known.
  • a deformable partition wall in the interior of the pack shows a boundary between an area available for the cigarettes and a waste area.
  • the space available for waste is limited. In particular, it is not possible to ingest smoked, but still larger, cigarettes.
  • the object of the present invention is to design a pack of cigarettes so that the space available for waste is as large as possible.
  • the cigarette pack according to the invention is characterized in that the deformable partition is at the same time the rear wall of an inner cut receiving the cigarette group and that the rear wall extends from a bottom wall approximately to the upper edge of the cigarette group, without connection to an upper one Top wall of the interior cut.
  • the partition formed in this way can be easily deformed or moved into another position in order to enlarge the waste space.
  • the partition is designed and arranged so that the cigarette chamber for receiving the fresh, unused cigarettes practically fills the entire interior of the same before the cigarette pack is put into use. After a cigarette has been removed and smoked, it is reinserted into the cigarette packet, namely into the box, specifically into the waste chamber. By appropriately deforming the partition, it changes after continuous consumption of cigarettes and reintroducing the same size and shape. Finally, when the pack of cigarettes is used up, the waste chamber fills the entire interior of the box.
  • the partition is connected to at least one of the side walls, in particular by gluing.
  • the smoked cigarettes can be returned into the cigarette packet through the predetermined, "natural" opening.
  • the box is provided with a separate insertion opening for the smoked cigarettes. This is preferably located in the back of the box, at the edge of the box. The cigarettes introduced through this insertion opening go directly into the waste chamber.
  • an outer wrapping made of plastic film is provided with two transverse tear strips arranged at a distance from one another, such that when the cigarette pack is put into use, the outer wrapping can be removed except for an approximately central wrapping strip. This enables the introduction of the smoked cigarettes through the insertion opening.
  • a hinged box 10 details of a preferred embodiment of a cigarette pack are shown, namely with a hinged box 10.
  • the basic structure of this is conventional, namely with a main part 11 for receiving a cigarette group 12 and a lid 13 pivotably connected to the main part 11 .
  • the hinged box 10 is formed from a blank, which is shown as an exemplary embodiment in FIG. 7.
  • Folded lines define areas for forming a box front wall 14, a box rear wall 15 and a box bottom wall 16 extending between them.
  • Inner box side flaps 17 and outer box side flaps 18 each adjoin box front wall 14 and box rear wall 15 to form (double-layered) box side walls 19 and 20.
  • Bottom corner flaps 21 are connected to the inner box side tabs 17 and, in the finished hinged box 10, rest against the inside of the box bottom wall 16.
  • Cutting parts for forming the lid 13 are connected to the rear box wall 15 of the main part 11 via a hinge line 22.
  • the hinge line 22 delimits the box rear wall 15 from a lid rear wall 23.
  • a lid top wall 24 and a lid front wall 25 adjoin these.
  • the cigarette group 12 is wrapped in an inner blank 29, preferably in a tin foil blank.
  • the inner blank 29 is designed in a special way (Fig. 6). Areas are defined within the rectangular inner blank 29 to form a rear wall 30, a front wall 31 and a bottom wall 32 formed between them.
  • the length L of the rear wall 30 therefore corresponds (approximately) to the length of a cigarette.
  • the front wall 31 has (approximately) the same length L.
  • a top wall 33 adjoins the upper edge of the front wall 31. This has a dimension in the longitudinal direction of the blank (FIG. 6) which corresponds to the depth T of the hinged box 10 or the interior thereof.
  • the top wall 33 is folded starting from the front wall 31 against the upper end face of the cigarette group 12 (FIG. 8).
  • the top wall 33 extends approximately up to a free upper edge 34 of the rear wall 30.
  • the pull tab 35 consists of an upper part of the front wall 31 and the top wall 33. In order to ensure that it can be torn off when the cigarette pack is used, the pull tab 35 is delimited from the rest of the front wall 31 by a transverse punching consisting of punch cuts 36 and few remaining connections 37.
  • the rear wall 30 and front wall 31 of the inner blank 29 are provided on both sides with side tabs 38, 39. These are dimensioned in width so that when the inner blank 29 (FIG. 8) is folded, there is a partial overlap of the associated side tabs 38, 39.
  • Bottom side tabs 40 are connected on the one hand to the bottom wall 32 and on the other hand to the adjacent side tabs 38, 39. They are folded into an upright position and lie against the inside of the (folded) side tabs 38, 39.
  • Lateral cover wall tabs 41 are also arranged in the area of the top wall 33 in an extension of the side tabs 39. These are folded to form trapezoidal gussets against the inside of the top wall 39 when it is folded against the upper end face of the cigarette group 12.
  • the cigarette pack designed in this way is intended to hold a cigarette group 12 with a plurality of cigarettes 42 arranged in a specific formation.
  • the cigarette group 12 consists of a total of eighteen cigarettes 42. These are arranged in three rows, namely in two rows 43 and 44, each with seven cigarettes 42 and one row 45 with four cigarettes 42. Some of these are arranged at a distance from one another, at least offset (“saddle position”) from the cigarettes of the middle row 44. The interior of the cigarette pack is therefore not completely filled by the cigarette group 12.
  • the interior of the cigarette pack or the hinged box 10 is designed so that two chambers which change in size and shape are formed. It is a cigarette chamber 45 on the one hand and a waste chamber 47 on the other.
  • the former serves to hold the fresh, that is, un-smoked cigarettes 42.
  • the waste chamber 47 is for smoked cigarettes, ie intended for waste cigarettes 48.
  • the chambers 46, 47 change shape and size during the consumption of the cigarettes 42 and the re-introduction of the waste cigarettes 48 into the cigarette pack.
  • the waste chamber 47 is arranged on the side facing the rear wall 15 of the box, so that the fresh cigarettes 42 can be removed from the free front of the hinged box 10.
  • the two chambers 46, 47 are separated from one another by a partition wall, which in the present case extends across the interior of the hinged box or main part 11, that is to say from one box side wall 19 to another box side wall 20 when the cigarette pack is put into use, the waste is Chamber 47 is very small or the entire interior of the cigarette pack is taken up by the cigarette chamber 46. With increasing consumption of the cigarettes 42, the waste chamber 47 becomes larger and the cigarette chamber 42 correspondingly smaller, until finally the entire contents of the cigarette pack are formed by the waste chamber 47 with the number of waste cigarettes 48 corresponding to the cigarette group 12 becomes.
  • the partition between the two chambers 46 and 47 can be formed by a separate, deformable blank within the main part 11 of the hinged box 10.
  • the dividing wall is formed by the inner blank 29, specifically by its rear wall 30. For this purpose, it extends over the full height of the interior of the hinged box and thus over the length of the cigarettes 42.
  • the front wall 31 is anchored via the side tabs 39 in the hinged box 10 or the main part 11.
  • the box side tabs 39 are anchored with a glue strip 49 on the inside of the hinged box 10, namely on the box side walls 19 and 20.
  • the glue strip 49 extends only in the area outside the pull tab 35, so that it can be pulled off unimpaired when the cigarette pack is put into use.
  • bottom wall 32 is anchored to the inside of the box bottom wall 16 by a larger glue surface 50.
  • the formation and anchoring of the rear wall 30 is important.
  • the rear wall 30 On one side, namely with the side tab 38, the rear wall 30 is fastened to the inside of the one box side wall 20 by means of glue strips 51.
  • the side tab 38 facing the box side wall 19 is free and without connection.
  • this part of the rear wall 30 - including adjacent side tabs - can be freely moved transversely in the main part 11 of the hinged box 10 in order to change the relative position of the partition wall (rear wall 30).
  • the rear wall 30 in its function as a partition, it can be partially separated from the remaining part of the inner blank 29.
  • the rear wall 30 and the adjacent, not attached side tab 38 are anchored by perforations or punchings 52 with residual connections 53 on the bottom wall 32 and on the bottom side tab 40.
  • the connection is severed, so that the rear wall 30 including side tabs 38 can also be moved freely in the bottom area.
  • the smoked cigarettes - waste cigarettes 48 - can be introduced into the waste chamber 47 via the main opening of the hinged box 10 with the lid 13 open.
  • a separate insertion opening for the refuse cigarettes 48 is more advantageous. In the present exemplary embodiment, this is arranged in the region of the box rear wall 15, namely adjacent to an edge thereof.
  • the insertion opening 54 is formed adjacent to the box side wall 19, that is to say on the side on which the rear wall 30 of the inner blank 29 can be freely moved.
  • the insertion opening 54 is formed by a U-shaped punch 55 in the blank (FIG. 7) for the hinged box 10, with residual connections 56.
  • a rear, upright packing edge 58 forms the hinge for the sw
  • the swivel tab 57 and thus the insertion opening 54 are dimensioned such that their width corresponds approximately to the diameter of a waste cigarette 48, but is shorter in the longitudinal direction.
  • the waste cigarette 48 can thereby be inserted into the hinged box 10 with a longitudinal movement.
  • the shorter length of the insertion opening 54 creates stops 59, 60 above and below the same for holding the waste cigarettes 48 in the waste chamber 47.
  • the hinged box 10 can be provided with a conventional outer covering made of thin plastic film or cellular glass.
  • this outer covering has two transverse tear strips (not shown) which are arranged at a distance from one another. These Usual and known tear strips enable the outer casing to be severed and subsequently removed.
  • an upper and a lower tear strip an upper cap-like part of the outer wrapping and a lower cap-like part of the same can be removed from the hinged box 10, so that a jacket strip 61 surrounding the hinged box 10 approximately in the middle remains from the outer wrapping. This is arranged so that the introduction of the waste cigarettes 48 is possible by pushing them into the lower part of the insertion opening 54.
  • the cigarette pack designed in the manner described is handled in such a way that after removal of the upper and lower parts of the outer casing and opening of the cover 13, the pull tab 35 is removed. As a result, the cigarettes 42 are exposed at the top for removal (FIG. 1). After a first cigarette 42 has been removed, the original formation of the cigarette group 12 (FIG. 2) collapses. A certain amount of free space is now created within the hinged box 10, which enables the smoked cigarette to be reinserted as a waste cigarette 48 via the insertion opening 45.
  • the rear wall 30 and side flaps 38 are separated from the bottom wall 32 and the bottom side flap 40, so that the box rear wall 30 can be partially moved into the interior of the pack and takes over the function as a partition.
  • the cigarettes can now be removed, smoked and reinserted as waste cigarettes until the cigarette pack filled with such waste cigarettes is removed as a unit.
  • the inner blank 29 or the partition for delimiting the chambers 46 and 47 from one another can also consist of a flame-retardant material, for example an aluminum or other metal foil without paper coating. This applies in the event that not completely extinguished, smoked cigarettes can be inserted into the box.
