Definitions
- the invention relates to a device for darkening a window, having a plurality of rotatable rollers which are connected to one another in a gearbox manner, a darkening web covering only a part of the window being able to be wound onto each roller.
- roller blinds in particular snap roller blinds, in which a fabric web can be wound around a rotatable roller. It can be pulled on the fabric, the fabric being unwound from the roller, so that a window can be partially or completely darkened as a result.
- a snap roller blind has a mechanism for engaging and disengaging or for locking the extended fabric web in a desired position against the tension of a spring device in the roller, preferably an elastic band.
- the covering material of the roll is tangled, that is, it can wind up laterally on the roller. A light-tight closure is also not possible.
- blinds are known, or the like in various ways, for example by pulling cords. can be driven. Between-glass blinds, which are arranged between two glass panes, are also known. Cumbersome operations are required here. With ball chain roller blinds, chains can jump out or get tangled. The chain always hangs open and can interfere with the window opening. Even such a blind does not close light-tight. The same applies to a cord deflecting blind. This is a very bulky system that requires complicated installation and complex operation. The cord can jam, slip, run wrong, so that the blind does not close light-tight. The latter also applies to vertical blinds, which require complicated, expensive mechanics and complicated operation. Such slats are also difficult to clean. Furthermore, roller shutters that can be attached to the outside of a window, which are not to be taken into account here, are known, so-called roller blinds, which enable complicated retrofitting, are difficult, are noisy during operation, even if they also allow adequate darkening.
- GB-A-12 35 087 describes a room divider which is formed from a plurality of fabric webs which are arranged next to one another and extendable parallel to one another and which can be wound on rollers which are connected to one another by gears and have the same axis extension.
- the rollers are arranged offset to one another to ensure an overlap of the fabric web on otherwise created edges.
- the individual strips of fabric hang freely and are only held taut by a weight in the area of their lower edge.
- the use of this device in windows is not recommended, since the offset of adjacent rollers would either exceed the usual thickness of windows or would limit the available space for a given outer frame.
- the object of the invention is to create a device of the generic type which, with a simple design, enables good, continuously variable darkening while ensuring simple operation and great functional reliability.
- the stated object is achieved with a device of the type mentioned at the outset, which has the characterizing part of claim 1.
- diametrically opposed rollers can be rotated in opposite directions to one another and in particular adjacent rollers are perpendicular to one another.
- the transmission ratio between mutually perpendicular adjacent rollers can be 1: 1, it is preferably provided that the number of teeth on rollers arranged on gears behave to one another essentially as the length ratios of the corresponding rollers.
- the partial covering of the window by the fabric parts which can be rolled up on a roller and which only give a complete covering of the window in their entirety takes place in an advantageous manner in that a drive is connected to at least one roller, wherein furthermore, the webs of fabric that can be wound on a roller essentially have the shape of right-angled triangles.
- the fabric sheets in a square window have the shape of isosceles triangles and that the fabric sheets have a long side edge perpendicular to their fastening edge with the roller, a short side edge parallel to this and a free, oblique edge connecting them.
- the invention provides a darkening device which is easy to install and operate, and which also functions permanently and without errors, even if the device is subjected to relatively frequent use.
- the gear mechanism can be realized maintenance-free, for example by self-lubricating bevel gears, in particular made of plastic.
- the drive can take place manually via a crank, a cord pull or also automatically by means of an electric motor, the drive devices also acting on the bevel gears of the device via bevel gears in the special embodiment.
- the fabric sheets can in particular be connected to the rollers in such a way that they can be removed so that they can be easily cleaned.
- the sheet material can be fabric or plastic. It can be either transparent, semi-transparent or opaque.
- the frame holding and covering the device according to the invention is preferably made of light metal and accommodates the transmission devices.
- the device according to the invention can be retrofitted to a window frame on the inside of the same or can be provided for window construction. It can be used as an intermediate glass device by being placed between two panes of a window.
- a further preferred embodiment provides that a light sensor is provided, by means of which an electric drive motor is controlled. Due to the design according to the invention, the blinds can be opened or closed quickly or slowly, without fear of mutual damage or impairment. Darkening can be done in the smallest steps.
- the device 1 has four rollers 2 arranged at right angles to one another, which are rotatably mounted in the region of their end faces 3 via a stationary bearing 4. Rollers 2 adjoining one another with end faces are via bevel gearwheels 6 geared together.
- the arrangement of the bevel gears 6 is such that they are directed outwards with their conical, toothed surfaces. This ensures that two diametrically opposed rollers are rotated in opposite directions when rotating, as can be seen in Figure 3. 3, the left roller is rotated clockwise, the right roller of this figure is rotated counterclockwise.
- roller and gear mechanism as shown in FIG. 1, is enclosed by a frame-shaped housing 7 with a U-shaped cross section of the individual frame parts that is open towards the inside.
- rollers 8 are formed in front of the bevel gears, which are limited on the one hand by the large end face 9 of the bevel gear and on the other hand by a disk 11 arranged at a distance from this.
- the free end of a pull cord 12 is fixed to each roller 8 and can be wound onto the roller 8 in a coil-like manner.
- Fabric rolls 13 are wound on the rollers 2, which essentially have the shape of a right-angled triangle, which is isosceles in the case of a square window.
- the fabric webs 13 are connected to the corresponding roller by an inclined edge 14, which extends obliquely to the boundary sides of a window and also the rollers 2, running along the rollers Fastening edge 16 (FIG.
- a long side edge 17 and a short side edge 18 (FIGS. 4, 5) running parallel to this and also running perpendicular to the fastening edge 16 (FIGS. 4, 5).
- the pull cord 12 already mentioned runs along the long side edge 17 and is preferably connected to it. To compensate for the winding thicknesses of the fabric web 13 and the cord 12, the latter is preferably elastic and is under tension. At the same time, a cord part could also run along the edge 14 and be connected to it, in order to improve the tightening of this edge when the darkening device is closed.
- a roller 10 is preferably attached to this, which engages behind a stationary guide rail 15.
- the roller 10 preferably has a circumferential groove with which it rests on the rail 15 so that it is guided through it in this way (FIG. 3). Instead of the roller 10, a guide slider seated on the guide rail 15 could also be used.
- the short longitudinal edge 18 of the web 13, which is caused by the design of the gear and spool, is also slightly reinforced, for example by sewing in a cord part 19. Furthermore, in the area in which the short longitudinal edge 18 extends when the web 13 is fully extended, a guide 21 in the form of a guide rail or groove is provided, into which the area of the web 13, which lies immediately behind the thickening 19, is drawn in when the web 13 is extended. As a result, the web 13 is guided stabilized in this area.
- FIG. 6 shows a crank mechanism 22
- FIG. 7 shows a cord pull 23
- FIG. 8 shows a drive with an electric motor 24.
- the drive 22, 23, 24 is connected to an additional stationary but rotatably mounted bevel gear 26 on one of the bevel gears 6, the drive movement then being transmitted through this and via the rollers 2 to the other rollers. It can continue, although not absolutely necessary, additional locking mechanisms in the form of pawls or the like. be provided for locking the gear device.
- one of the bevel gears 6 is rotated via one of the drive mechanisms mentioned and the bevel gear 26 connected to it, and, as said, drives the further rollers 2 via the gear mechanism formed by the bevel gears 6.
- the darkening therefore takes place in the manner shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 from the corners in which the bevel gears are arranged.
- the darkening web 13 is pulled diagonally in the manner described above from the front of one roller to the rear of the opposite roller (FIG. 3). This ensures that the webs 13 do not interfere with each other, but rather the free tip 31 (FIG. 2) is guided behind the web unwound from the adjacent roller 2 (FIG. 1) until the entire window is then darkened like a screen, as can be seen in FIG. 4, the webs being double-layered at each point in the darkening area.
- the guide device 31 of FIGS. 9 and 10 has an outwardly directed U-rail 32, in which a hook 33 is screwed in, on the outer leg 34 of which the pull cord 12 engages and which is connected to the free tip of the web 13. In this way, an alternative to the guidance of Figure 3 is created, by which the web 13 is kept taut.
