Definitions
- the invention relates to a mine clearing device for clearing open mines according to the preamble of claim 1
- a mine clearing device of this type is known from DE-A1-0 190 510, in which open and concealed land mines can be cleared from the road of the mine clearing device by means of impact elements based on the flail principle.
- the striking elements are attached to drivable clearing shafts with ropes and, when the clearing shaft rotates, describe a flight circle in which, depending on the height setting of the clearing shaft, the striking elements penetrate more or less into the ground and fling open or hidden mines or detonate them.
- this device has the disadvantage that openly laid mines are given too high impact energy due to the high kinetic energy of the striking elements attached to the ropes, which increases the risk of undesirable mine detonations.
- relatively complex functional elements such as the clearing shaft and its drive parts, are destroyed in a mine detonation.
- the object of the invention is to create a mine clearing device with which openly laid land mines can be removed from the clearing area with simple and easy-to-replace means and largely avoiding premature detonation.
- the basic idea of the invention is to achieve a good adaptation to uneven floors with the flexible strand arranged obliquely to the direction of travel. If the flexible strand consists of a chain, for example, the articulated connections result in particularly good tracking on the floor. Overall, however, the damage caused by mine detonations is minimized by the low overall height and the installation of the device for clearing open mines close to the ground and by the simple and easy-to-replace components.
- a particular advantage is that the mine clearing device can be folded up compactly and carried on the carrier vehicle.
- vehicle types available with the troop can be used as the carrier vehicle, but off-road trucks or main battle tanks are particularly suitable.
- the device according to the invention can be fastened to the carrier vehicles with simple means and, because of the arrangement of the mine clearance device close to the ground, has no adverse effect on the driver's view.
- 1 to 1f show the mine clearing device 1, which is fastened by means of a mounting device 2 to the vehicle front 3 of a carrier vehicle 4, which is shown in part and consists of a tracked vehicle.
- the mine clearing device 1 consists essentially of a flexible strand 5, for example a steel cable or a chain, which is attached at one end to a longitudinal beam 6 arranged in the direction of travel and at the other end to a cross member 7. All of the above-mentioned functional elements are arranged near the floor, the flexible strand adapting to the unevenness of the floor due to its flexibility.
- the mounting device 2 is easily detachably attached to the carrier vehicle 2 and carries the cross member 7 to which in turn the longitudinal member is attached.
- the flexible strand When driving over terrain covered with open mines, the flexible strand is guided across the floor surface at an angle to the direction of travel. Due to different friction conditions during the journey, the flexible strand 5 guided over the floor will constantly alternately plunge in and set back again, so that a mine 8 laid open on the roadway is caught by the flexible strand 5 and receives an obliquely forward impulse.
- This process shown in FIGS. 1 a to 1 c can be repeated several times until the mine 8 is removed from the carriageway area, and in addition to the transport effects caused by impacts, a movement component directed to the side is also produced by the mine 8 sliding along the soft strand 5 , as shown in Figs. 1d to 1f.
- the mine clearing device according to the embodiments according to FIGS. 2a, 2b, 2c; 3a, 3b; 4a, 4b and 5 can additionally be provided with a pulsation drive.
- FIG. 2a consists in that the cross member 7 fastened in the holding device 2 is set in a pulsating back and forth movement.
- Fig. 2b Another embodiment according to Fig. 2b is that a crank mechanism 9 is arranged at the end of the cross member 7, through which the flexible strand 5 is alternately loosened and tightened.
- the pulsation drive can also be arranged on the carrier vehicle 4.
- the pulsation drives according to FIGS. 3a and 3b consist in that either the longitudinal beam 6 is set in a pulsating back and forth movement, or a crank drive 9 is arranged on the longitudinal beam 6.
- the same pulsation drives are used in mine clearing devices with two flexible strands.
- 4a shows a pulsation drive, which consists of two reciprocating cross members 7 and 4b shows a pulsation drive, which consists of crank drives 9 arranged at the ends of the cross members 7.
- 5 shows another mine clearing device equipped with two flexible strands 5, in which the pulsation drive consists in that the longitudinal beam 6 holding both strands 5 is set in a reciprocating longitudinal movement.
- the flexible strand is shown in the relaxed, belly-forming state in continuous lines and in the tightened state in broken lines.
- a lead lying against the loosened flexible strand is flung obliquely forward when it is returned to the tightened state as if by the action of a bowstring.
- the soft strand 2 can be composed of individual link elements which, on the one hand, adapt well to the ground contour and, on the other hand, form a sufficiently high rim so that detected mines do not tip over the flexible strand and get in front of the carrier vehicle 4.
