Definitions
- the invention relates to a method as specified in the preamble of claim 1 and a packaging for performing this method.
- packaging is required for produced parts, which, for example, Protect fragile parts, which are also suitable, however, that the packaged parts can be easily removed from them in the same position by machine or manually, especially if e.g. further manufacturing steps should be carried out on the packaged small parts.
- packaging is required that combines smaller quantities of small parts into a bundle so that it can be converted more quickly in a further processing step to which the packaged small parts (e.g. semi-finished products) are to be subjected.
- a molded packaging cushion for fragile or sensitive to shock and impact goods in which a light plastic film is created by deep drawing, the cavities not required for the small parts to be packed are filled with particularly foamable plastics and the system thermoformed plastic film and filling with a smooth plate made of other materials such as cardboard, paper, corrugated cardboard, wood, plastic, is completed by gluing, welding, gluing or pressing, so that a compact cushion body is created.
- a light plastic film is created by deep drawing
- the cavities not required for the small parts to be packed are filled with particularly foamable plastics and the system thermoformed plastic film and filling with a smooth plate made of other materials such as cardboard, paper, corrugated cardboard, wood, plastic, is completed by gluing, welding, gluing or pressing, so that a compact cushion body is created.
- To produce this packaging several complex manufacturing steps and special tools are required, which significantly increase the costs for the packaging of priced small parts.
- Another disadvantage, especially for large-scale production of small parts The most varied of shapes is that a large number of different
- a packaging body for bottles, glasses and other fragile goods which consists of foamed plastic, for example polystyrene with essentially closed pores, in which at least one part is formed in molds by casting, pressing or blowing agent its outer surface has a denser structure than the foam structure.
- This denser structure can be formed, for example, by the action of heat and compression.
- GB-PS 838 659 a multi-layer packaging was known in which parts are held on an adhesive layer applied to a foam base or by means of recesses made in the foam base, an adhesive layer consisting of an elastic, non-hardening adhesive being provided underneath the recesses .
- This packaging also has the disadvantage that, as far as the embodiment with the recesses is concerned, it has to be prefabricated with tools that correspond to the parts to be packaged and that a relatively complex manufacturing process must be used for them, in which a plurality of Process steps are required, namely applying an elastic adhesive layer to a base plate, applying an elastic foam layer, applying a further elastic adhesive layer and covering this adhesive layer with a removable cover film. If the parts to be packaged are only held by means of the adhesive layer attached to the foam layer, safe transport of fragile small parts in particular is not guaranteed, since there are no depressions which fix the parts in position by clamping.
- the invention has for its object to simplify the aforementioned method for packaging small parts of various shapes such that the packaging is created directly during the packaging process without additional tools in the shape corresponding to the parts to be packaged.
- This object is achieved in that at least one small part to be packaged is pressed so far into the carrier layer heated to a temperature in the range from 70 to 180 ° C. that the small part is pressed into one by thermal deformation of the carrier layer formed, the shape of the small part corresponding compartment is securely held and that a directly adjacent to the base plate area of the support layer is kept almost undeformed.
- a plurality of small parts are pressed into the carrier layer at the same time, the distance between a plurality of small parts lying next to one another being able to be set such that an area of undeformed material of the carrier layer is retained between the small parts.
- a packaging for small parts for carrying out the method according to the invention with a non-deformable base plate and an elastic carrier layer is characterized in that the carrier layer is non-detachably firmly connected to the base plate and to a smooth surface layer, both the carrier layer and the surface layer made of thermoplastic material consist.
- the use of a foamed thermoplastic material for the carrier layer has the particular advantage that the foamed material can be permanently deformed after heating, so that small parts to be packaged, when they are pressed into this carrier layer, permanently deformed areas (compartments or nests) form the carrier layer, which correspond exactly to the shape of the small parts to be packaged and consequently keep the parts clamped.
- individual compartments or nests are formed for each individual small part to be packed, so that even dimensional deviations in the tolerance range are taken into account.
- nests or compartments in this way is much more economical and quicker than if, for example, moldings in a carrier material for holding small parts had to be formed mechanically, for example by cutting or punching out;
- To produce very precise shapes in this way requires a considerable amount of tools and a costly storage of packaging for differently shaped small parts; such a method also works considerably more time-consuming, which has disadvantages for rational large-scale production.
- dimensionally accurate packaging can be created directly at the production site of the small parts to be packaged, the shape of the packaging being achieved by the small parts to be packaged themselves and not by a separate tool.
- Another considerable advantage for a rational large-scale production is that the storage of packaging is considerably simplified, because only a single type of original packaging in the form of a multi-layered packaging body needs to be kept ready for small parts of various types and shapes, which then only on site and location of the manufacture of the small parts to be packaged experiences their required shape for receiving the small parts.
- Another advantage of the method according to the invention is that small quantities of small parts can be packed as containers and that these containers can be stacked on top of one another, e.g. A large number of small parts can be packed break-proof in a box. The exposed upper side of the small parts pressed into the carrier layer is then covered by the base plate of another packaging body (with small parts pressed into its carrier layer). Finally, the entire stack is given a suitable protective cover for the small parts of the top packaging.
- the packaging body can be easily cut up by cutting.
- Another advantage is that not only different different on a single package Small parts can be sorted and packed together, which are to be processed or processed with each other in a further process step, but that different numbers of small parts can be packaged quickly and easily in a bundle.
- a method for packaging magnetic U-cores made from a ceramic ferrite is described.
- the method according to the invention is of course also suitable for very different types of small parts, e.g. Glass bottles for medication or metal parts, the sensitive surfaces of which must be protected during transport.
- a packaging body 1 is shown in section with a base plate 3, for example made of single or multi-wall corrugated cardboard with a thickness of 3 to 5 mm, with a carrier layer 5, for example made of cross-linked polyethylene foam with a density of 0.025 to 0.3 g / cm3 , a softening range of 70 to 180 ° C. and a thickness of ⁇ 10 mm and with a smooth surface layer 7.
- the smooth surface layer 7 can be formed in a known manner, for example by superficial compression by means of heat or by gluing, welding or the like. In the exemplary embodiment described, a 50 ⁇ m thick polyethylene film was used to form a smooth surface layer 7.
- a smooth surface layer 7 can be formed, for example, in a known manner by superficial compression using heat.
- FIGS. 2 and 3 are shown in section as a side and front view of the packaging body 1 and molded-in small parts 9, here magnetic U-cores made of a ceramic ferrite.
- the process for packaging the small parts 9 is carried out in such a way that the packaging body 1 and in particular the carrier layer 5 with the surface layer 7 located thereon are heated to a temperature of ⁇ 160 ° C. and the small parts 9, here U-cores with a dimension of 35 mm length, l2.5 mm width and 2l mm height, with a pressure of l500 N on an area of 320 ⁇ 2l4 mm2 (dimension of the packaging body l) so far that the small parts 9 in one, by thermal deformation of the Carrier layer 5 and the surface layer 7 formed, each corresponding to the shape of the small part 9 compartment ll be securely held and that a region l3 directly adjacent to the base plate 3 is almost undeformed and regions l5 of the carrier layer 5 lying between the individual small parts 9 remain undeformed.
- the small parts 9 each form their own compartment 11 that conforms to their shape and position, the foamed thermoplastic material of the carrier layer 5 being compressed under the action of heat in the region onto which the small parts 9 are pressed.
- a residual elasticity is retained in the material of the carrier layer 5, de lateral restoring forces of the material of the carrier layer 5 acting in the areas l5 in such a way that the pressed-in small parts 9 are held in their compartments 11 under tension, which ensures a secure fit the small parts 9 guaranteed during transport.
- the smooth surface layer 7 forms a boundary layer between the molded-in small parts 9 and the carrier layer 5; it improves the sliding properties of the surface of the carrier layer 5 and thus facilitates the removal of the small parts 9 from the composite panel 1.
