Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a grinding tool for profiled strips made of wood or the like. With the contour of the surface to be sanded, the sanding segments forming rows of sanding segments.
  • the applicant has set itself the task of developing a grinding tool which can be used more universally in such a way that the number of grinding segments required for a specific assortment of profile strips can be reduced by a combination of different shapes of grinding segments.
  • the same basic body should be used for all conceivable combinations.
  • the object is achieved by a grinding tool with the features of claim 1.
  • the individually removable grinding segments allow the grinding segment receptacles to be equipped with differently designed grinding segments, although the grinding segments of a row of grinding segments are the same. This makes it possible, for example, to grind a radius on one edge and a fillet on the opposite edge. Since, according to claim 2, the grinding segments of the one grinding segment row can also be a mirror image of the grinding segments of the other grinding segment row, corresponding radii or fillets can be ground on two sides of a strip, for example.
  • the base bodies are of identical or approximately identical design. This results in particular advantages in terms of production technology and better interchangeability in practical use. It is particularly expedient if the base body and the grinding segment receptacles are formed in one piece. This reduces the number of parts forming the grinding tool. Furthermore, there is no need to connect the base body to the grinding segment receptacles and the assembly work required for this. With rotating grinding tools, care must be taken to ensure that the grinding segments do not come loose due to the centrifugal forces. The carrier segment is then expediently also fastened to the grinding segment receptacle.
  • the carrier segment is formed from a molded part or a profile strip and an attached base profile segment corresponding to the contour of the surface to be ground.
  • the basic profile segment consists of an elastic material, such as. B. foam rubber or cork. This basic profile segment is then applied to the molded part or to the profile strip. The molded part or the profile strip can then also be gripped by the components defining the grinding segment.
  • a simple, stable design of the base body is provided if these are disc-shaped and if several are at right angles in the area of the outer edge grinding segment receptacles extending at the same angular distance from one another are provided to the disk plane.
  • This basic body design is only suitable for rotary grinding tools.
  • the parts describe the contour of a cylindrically shaped basket which is open on the side opposite the disk.
  • These grinding segment receptacles preferably have a flat cross section, the upper and / or the lower side being curved depending on the design of the carrier segment in accordance with the distance from the axis of rotation of the grinding tool.
  • the grinding segment receptacles are of course parallel and at a distance from the axis of rotation of the tool.
  • the definition of the grinding segments on the grinding segment receptacles or, in the case of an embodiment in which the grinding segment receptacles and the base bodies are formed in one piece, is particularly easy to determine on the base bodies if each base body is assigned two clamping elements which engage behind projections provided on the end faces of the grinding segments .
  • the clamping elements can then be seen in the sense of claws or claws, whereby a positive connection is achieved, so that it is ensured during operation that the grinding segments are not released by the centrifugal forces.
  • the clamping elements are expediently designed in the form of disks, with the outer edges of the clamping elements assigned to a base body in the direction of the end faces of the grinding segments angled and provided in the area of the outer edge with recesses lying between the grinding segments.
  • a rotary grinding tool is shown.
  • This consists of two basic bodies 10 and 10a, grinding segment receptacles 11 arranged thereon, two disk-shaped clamping covers 12 and 12a, two clamping covers 13 and 13a designed in the manner of a basket, and grinding segments 14 fixed to the grinding segment receptacles 11 and explained in more detail.
  • the basic bodies 10,10a consist essentially of a disk 17 and 17a provided with a bore 15 for the passage of a grinding spindle 16 indicated by dash-dotted lines.
  • the edge regions of the disks 17 and 17a are provided with five recesses 18, 18a in the present exemplary embodiment.
  • the basic bodies 10, 10a can be seen in their shape in the form of a polygon, although the edges delimiting the cutouts 18 intersect in the axis of rotation of the grinding tool. At the free edges of the base body 10, 10a, they are perpendicular to the Disks 17a, 17 extending grinding segment receptacles 10 are attached.
  • the base body 10, 10a and the grinding segment receptacles 11 are made in one piece from metal, preferably from aluminum.
  • the grinding segment receptacles 11 have a rectangular cross section, but the surfaces facing each other are curved.
  • the type of cross section of the grinding segment receptacles 11 depends on the shape and the type of fastening of the support segments 19 supporting the grinding segments 14, which are shown in FIG.
  • these carrier segments 19 are not visible since the grinding segments 14 are slipped over them.
  • the grinding segment receptacles 11 are axially parallel to the axis of rotation.
  • the clamping covers 12, 12a are also provided with five recesses 20 and 20a in the edge area.
  • the webs formed by the recesses 18, 18a and 20 and 20a lie congruently to one another.
  • the outer edge of the webs formed by the recesses 20, 20a is angled in the direction of the associated base body. As a result, a holding surface lying behind the same angle is engaged, which lies on the end faces of the grinding segments 14.
  • the basket-like clamping covers 13, 13a are similar to the components formed from the base bodies and the grinding segment receptacles, as clearly shown in FIGS. 1 and 2. They then consist of disks 22, 22a and webs 23 and 23a extending at right angles from the edge region.
  • the disks 22, 22a are also provided with recesses 24, 24a. In the assembled state, the recesses 18, 18a, 20, 20a, 24, 24a are flush with one another.
  • the webs 23 are at such a distance from the axis of rotation that the underside of the grinding segment receptacles 11 and the top of the webs 23 and 23a abut one another.
  • the free ends of the webs 23 and 23a are designed in the manner of a claw or a claw by angling twice in the direction of the disk 22 or 22a. This in turn allows the holding surfaces 21 of the grinding segments 14 to be gripped behind.
  • each grinding segment 14 is held by the clamping cover 12 or 12a and by the webs 23 or 23a.
  • the grinding segments 14 forming a grinding segment row are alternately assigned to the base bodies 10, 10a.
  • this row of grinding segments consists of a total of ten grinding segments, since each base body has 5 grinding segment receptacles.
  • the number can also be changed. It is particularly advantageous in the embodiment according to the invention that the base body 10 with the attached grinding segments and the clamping covers 12 and 13 can be assembled into one structural unit.
  • the base body 10a with the attached grinding segments and the clamping covers 12a and 13a can also be put together to form a structural unit. These two units can then be put together according to FIGS. 3 and 4.
  • the grinding segments 14 are laid out for grinding a bar with a radius. This radius is only ground on one edge in the illustration according to FIG. 3, since the upstanding parts of the grinding segments are in alignment with one another.
  • every second grinding segment of the grinding segment row is offset by 180 ° with respect to the other grinding segments. This makes it possible to grind a strip with radii provided on the opposite edges.
  • the parts assembled to said structural unit can be plugged into one another to a greater or lesser extent.
  • a spacer ring 25 is provided, which is designed for the respective width of the strips and is placed between the mutually facing surfaces of the disks 22, 22a of the basket-shaped clamping covers 13 and 13a.
  • the grinding segment 14 is supported on the already mentioned carrier segment 19.
  • the carrier segment 19 consists of a basic profile segment 19a adapted to the surface to be ground, made of an elastic material, such as foam rubber or cork, and a T-shaped bar 19b.
  • a molded part made of a film can also be provided instead of the strip 19b.
  • This last-mentioned embodiment offers the advantage of a cheaper production and an easier attachment to the grinding segment receptacles.
  • the grinding segment 14 is equipped on its active surfaces with a grinding covering 14a. Otherwise, segment 14 is also produced by deep-drawing a film.
  • Each grinding segment receptacle 11 is provided with a longitudinal slot extending in the direction of the axis of rotation, into which the web of the T-shaped profile strip 19b extending in the radial direction engages.
  • Each carrier segment is secured by means of a setscrew 16 which is screwed into a threaded bore of each grinding segment receptacle.
  • FIG. 7 shows an end view of the structural unit composed of the parts according to FIG. 1 or 2, the end-side clamping cover 12 or 12a being shown only partially. This shows that the grinding segment receptacle is provided with the slot already mentioned for receiving the profile strip 19b of the carrier segment 19.
  • the grinding segments 11 are arranged in accordance with FIG. 3.
  • each grinding segment receptacle 11 is fastened to two flat belts 27 and 27a.
  • the length of each grinding segment receptacle 11 is twice as large as the belt width. Since the distance between two grinding segment receptacles 11 is twice as large or a little larger than the width of each grinding segment receptacle 11, they can be pushed into one another such that the end faces lie flush with one another, as shown in FIG. 9.
  • the flat belts 27 and 27a are at a distance to each other. It can be seen from this that the grinding width can be increased with slipped-on grinding segments 14, but only so far that the grinding segment receptacles 11 still mesh.
  • the length of the grinding segment receptacles 11 is twice as large as the belt width. This ratio can of course be changed.
  • the grinding segments 11 are block-shaped and made of rubber.
  • Each grinding segment receptacle 11 is provided in the lower region with two bores 28 running parallel to one another and transversely to the longitudinal edges of the belt 27 and 27a.
  • FIG. 11 shows that the grinding segment 14 is again applied to the respective grinding segment receptacle 11 using a basic profile segment 19a.
  • the grinding segment 14 is provided with depressions 29 running in the grinding direction.
  • an elastic band 30 is drawn through the bores 28, the length of which is so great that it can be pulled up on the end faces of the grinding segment 11 and placed in the depressions 29.
  • the ends of the band 30 are connected to one another in an unspecified manner or fixed to the grinding segment.
  • open slots can be provided in the direction of the belt 27 or 27a. If the grinding segment receptacle 11 is curved on the side facing the belt, an endless band can then be inserted into these slots.
  • Other mounting options are conceivable.
  • the flat rhymes 27, 27a can have a profiled running surface. Trapezoidal studs running transverse to the direction of travel are particularly advantageous.
  • FIGS. 13 to 20 show application examples for the use of the grinding tool according to the invention.
  • the one to be ground in each case Bar is provided with the reference number 31.
  • the bar according to FIG. 13 is rounded off on one longitudinal edge.
  • the tool according to FIG. 3 would be suitable for this application, for example.
  • a radius is provided on two opposite longitudinal edges.
  • the tool according to FIG. 4 is suitable for this.
  • the strips according to FIGS. 15 and 16 are each provided with a fillet on one or in turn on two opposite longitudinal edges. Both versions can be processed with the same grinding segments. A combination of the strips according to FIGS. 13 and 15 is shown in FIG. 17.
  • a total of eight different profile strips are shown in the application examples. To do this, however, only three different shapes of grinding segments are necessary. Since the shape of grinding segments is significantly reduced with the extremely large number of known profile strips, the grinding segments can be manufactured much more cost-effectively since the number of tools required for the production is also reduced. Furthermore, it can still be assumed that the remaining shapes can be produced in larger numbers and thus also more cost-effectively.
