Definitions
- the counterflow cell is known from patent application P 33 40 732.0.
- This device makes it possible to process e.g. in one-sided and both-sided finishing of e.g. Steel strips with both soluble and insoluble anodes to achieve a uniform and high flow rate over the entire surface of the refinement.
- This high flow rate can be achieved with the least possible use of energy in that a large amount of electrolyte is circulated independently in the cell.
- the circulation of large amounts of electrolyte is achieved using the lowest possible pump energy by using the liquid jet injector principle. This makes it possible for an approx. 3 to 5 times the amount of electrolyte to flow in the circuit compared to the amount introduced by direct pumping through the constructive design of the injectors in the actual electrolysis cell.
- the water jet injectors are installed behind the anodes in the lower area of the cell as they run upward and generate an upward flow, which is achieved by suitable design of the housing and the the upper anode necks are deflected and pushed through the space between the anodes and the strip in such a way that a downward flow is created.
- This downward flow is started by - due to the water jet injector pumps in the lower cell part behind the anodes - a negative pressure is built at the lower end of the flow shaft. This system circulates a significant portion of the electrolyte flow
- the supply of the electrolytic cell with cleaned and cooled electrolyte takes place in that the necessary amount of electrolyte is fed to the jet nozzles from a circuit device with filter and cooler via a pump.
- the jet pump In the area of the descending band run, the jet pump is used in such a way that it enters the required amount of electrolyte into the space between the anode and the strip via appropriately designed slot nozzles.
- the electrolyte pumped upwards emerges from the area between the anode and the strip through appropriately designed anode necks and can partially drain to a storage tank.
- the galvanizing cell 4 shown in Fig. 1 is usually part of a system in which several such galvanizing cells are arranged one behind the other.
- the steel strip 1 to be finished runs from an upper current roller 2 with its descending strip section 11 in the gap 6 between vertically arranged anodes 5 in the middle through to an immersion roller 3, which is arranged in the housing filled with the electrolyte. From this deflecting immersion roller 3, the strip with its ascending strip section 12 is in turn guided through vertically arranged anode rows 7 arranged parallel to one another in the gap 8 formed accordingly to a further upper current roller 2
- the anodes 5 and 7 are arranged with their surface facing the strip parallel to the plane of the strip being carried out and are detachably suspended from the upper anode ends 51 and 7 1, respectively.
- the housing section 41 is formed, in which an electrolyte flow is maintained in the direction of the arrow.
- liquid jet pumps 9 are arranged in the space between the housing wall and the anodes, the mixing tubes 91 of which are directed towards the lower side of the gap 6 with their slot nozzle-like ends. In this way, an electrolyte flow opposite to the tape running direction can be achieved with high flow velocity or with high flow pressure, which is usually kept turbulent and leads to favorable electrolysis conditions for the performed tape section 11
- the electrolyte flow overflowing between the electrodes 51 partially flows into the overflow collector 43 and from there is fed back to the jet pumps 9 by an external system with pumps, filters, heat exchanger unit and the like.
- a separate housing section 42 is also provided around the anodes 7, in the gap 8 of which the rising strip section 12 is guided.
- the direction of the electrolyte current maintained in this housing section is also indicated by arrows.
- the electrolyte is sucked into the lower area of the gap 8 via liquid jet pumps 10 and their mixing tubes 101 and pressed into the corresponding space between the housing section 42 and the anodes 7 through the mixing tubes 1 01 Achieved
- the overflow current exiting between the anode ends 71 again flows into the overflow trap 43 and is fed back to the jet pumps 10 via the inflow pipes 102 from the intermediate treatment system.
- the corresponding inflow pipes to the jet pumps 9 are designated by the number 92

Abstract
Description
- Fig. 2 einen Schnitt nach der Linie A -A in Fig. 1,
- Fig. 3 einen Schnitt nach der Linie B -B in Fig. 1,
- Fig. 4 einen Schnitt nach der Linie C in Fig. 1.
