Definitions

  • the invention relates to a hair treatment device according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • a hair treatment device which consists of hair curlers and a device having a plurality of heating pins for heating the hair curlers.
  • each hair curler according to this prior publication being a bimetal Contains locking element that fixes it on the heating mandrel of the heating device until it has reached a predetermined target temperature, which corresponds to the optimal hair styling temperature. When this set temperature is exceeded, the bimetal lock releases and the curler is lifted from the heating mandrel by a pre-tensioned spring.
  • a hair treatment device has already become known from US Pat. No. 4,109,667, in which the temperature dependence of the attraction force of a magnet on a ferromagnetic material arranged in the hair curler with a corresponding Curie point has been used to limit the heating of the hair curlers, but this known device had to be used every single hair curler used was equipped with an electric heater, which had to be connected to a power source by touching each time in a heating station, and therefore this device required such an overall cost to manufacture that it was not competitive with other known solutions. In addition, their functional reliability could be severely impaired in the long run by mechanical wear and aging of the electrical connection contacts.
  • the heating device should be as small and handy as possible and still effective in terms of its heating effect.
  • a hair treatment device is proposed according to the present invention, which has the features specified in the characterizing part of patent claim 1 within the scope of the device concept outlined at the outset and which can advantageously be designed or operated in accordance with the subclaims.
  • the holding means which fix the hair curlers on the heating mandrels until their desired temperature is reached, consist of a magnet and a body arranged in or on each hair curler and which can be brought into the holding distance of this magnet by plugging a hair curler onto a heating mandrel ferromagnetic material, the Curie temperature of which corresponds to the set temperature of the hair curler.
  • the present invention provides a very inexpensive hair treatment device in which hair curlers are always heated to the same predetermined target temperature in an elegant manner, precisely and reliably can be.
  • a decisive advantage of the present invention over known hair curler heating devices - in particular also over the arrangement described in US Pat. No. 3,415,254 is that the magnetic fixation of the hair curler on the conical heating mandrel always produces optimal thermal contact between the heating mandrel and the hair curler is largely independent of manufacturing tolerances that are difficult to maintain, wear and material heating. This effect is achieved in that the magnet pulls the curler in any case so far on the heating mandrel during each heating process that the conical inner surface of the curler is seated over the entire surface on the precisely conical jacket of the heating mandrel.
  • the spring effecting the spring lifting the curler from the heating mandrel by pushing apart the ferromagnetic body and the magnet arranged in the hair curler is preferably supported on the one hand at the lower end of the heating mandrel or on part of the housing carrying it and on the other hand at the lower end of the respective plugged-on heating mandrel Curlers.
  • it can also be arranged directly between the magnet and the ferromagnetic body, in such a way that the magnet fastened at its lower end - opposite the ferromagnetic body - is fastened via it to the hair curler and when the Hair curler on the heating mandrel comes to the plant.
  • hair curlers with extremely different outside diameters can be heated exactly to the target temperature predetermined by the Curie temperature of the ferromagnetic bodies contained in them on the same heating mandrel.
  • the present invention can be expediently designed such that the hair treatment device includes differently heatable hair curlers, for example of the same caliber, which differ in the Curie temperature of the ferromagnetic bodies contained in them and which are externally distinguishable, for example, in their coloring.
  • the heating mandrels are preferably heated by means of electrically operated PTC resistors which, due to their known temperature-dependent resistance characteristics, limit the heating of the heating mandrels in a self-regulating manner, so that no additional temperature control is required.
  • a heating element is arranged underneath each heating mandrel, in such a way that its upper surface rests firmly against the entire surface in a heat-conducting manner directly at the foot of the heating mandrel and is resiliently supported on its underside to intercept its thermal expansion.
  • conical heating mandrels contain corresponding elongated recesses which are arranged coaxially to the longitudinal axis of the mandrels and in which correspondingly shaped heating elements are positively fixed under a press fit.
  • the heating mandrels can also be heated with the aid of heating elements which contain devices for thermostatically controlled catalytic combustion of a combustible gas.
  • the hair treatment device according to the invention can be used completely independently, so that it can be used without any problems, in particular when traveling and in places without a mains voltage connection, and moreover it completely avoids the residual risk, which in principle cannot be entirely ruled out in the case of mains voltage-operated electrical appliances, in the event of improper handling in wet rooms.
  • An embodiment of the present invention which is distinguished by particular advantages in use, is characterized in that the heating elements and their control are set up in this way - d. H. constructed and adjusted - and dimensioned so that they continuously heat the mandrels to a temperature that is at least 100 ° Celsius above the target temperature of the hair curlers. This ensures that the heating pins are not only preheated when the hair curlers are plugged on, but are very significantly overheated in relation to their target temperature, so that the heating process of the hair curlers is carried out in the shortest possible time, ie. H. within a few seconds.
  • This embodiment can be modified to the advantage that it only contains a single heating mandrel; because it has been shown that due to the extremely short heating-up time of the hair curlers achieved by the overtemperature, even with brisk operation, it is readily able to bring one hair roller after another to its desired temperature sufficiently quickly. This also results in significant savings in the manufacturing costs of the heating unit, as well as small device dimensions and low weight.
  • the heating mandrel In order to avoid energy losses due to heat radiation and convection, it is additionally proposed to laterally enclose the heating mandrel at a distance from a heat-insulating and / or heat-reflecting wall that enables the curlers to be attached. At the same time, this measure prevents burns due to accidental contact with the overheated heating mandrel.
  • the end In order to prevent burns on the free end of the heating mandrel, the end preferably has a touch guard in the form of a heat-insulating, heat-resistant cap or plate.
  • the curler 1 can be seen in Figure 1, which contains the body 3 made of ferromagnetic material in the region of its upper end and which has been pushed onto the heating mandrel 2 by gently depressing it against the force of the elastic spring 5, so that it is pushed through the force exerted by the magnet 4 arranged in the free end face of the heating mandrel 2 on the ferromagnetic body 3 is held in this position.
  • the heating mandrel 2 with the heating element 6 arranged on its base is fixedly arranged in the interior of a housing 7 by means of construction elements, not shown in the drawing.
  • Parts 7.1 of the housing wall, which enclose the heating mandrel at a distance that allows the curlers to be attached, are designed to be heat-insulating and / or heat-reflecting and thereby limit heat losses as a result of radiation and convection.
  • the housing surrounding the heating mandrel 2, together with the protective cap 2.1 attached to the end of the heating mandrel prevents a user of the device according to the invention from being burned by accidental contact with the heated mandrel.
  • Figure 3 shows the embodiment of the present invention according to claim 4, in which the magnet 4 and the compressible lifting spring 5 are components of the curler 1.
  • the hair treatment device In order to make optimum use of the advantages which can be achieved by the hair treatment device according to the invention and its designs, it is additionally proposed to always operate it in such a way that the heating mandrel or the heating mandrels are continuously heated to a temperature which is significantly higher than the temperature during the entire period of use of the device
  • the target temperature of the curlers is.
  • "significantly above the target temperature of the hair curlers means temperatures that are at least above the hair damage temperature and for this reason are usually not taken into account for heating hair curlers.
  • the permanent temperature of the heating mandrels used in the proposed procedure is preferably at least 100 ° Celsius above the target temperature of the hair curlers, for example 300 ° Celsius.
