- the invention relates to a connector with a plurality of contact members which are fixed in parallel to each other in a plate-shaped or strip-shaped holding body made of insulating material and on one side of the holding body have angled connecting sections which are passed through bores of a fixing plate provided at right angles to the holding body, the elastically bendable fixing plate is designed to be insertable using its bendability between two approaches of the holding body.
- the fixing plate provided in such connectors holds the angled connection sections of the contact elements, e.g. in the grid order of the bores of a circuit board, so that when the connector is assembled with a circuit board, the free ends of the angled connection sections can be easily inserted into the grid bores of the circuit board.
- the guide area determined by the length of the bores that is to say the thickness of the fixing plate, is only relatively short. Ver If one of the angled connection sections is missing when the plug connector and a printed circuit board are assigned the associated printed circuit board hole, it can happen that the corresponding connection section jumps out of its fixing plate hole. In addition, an inclined position of the angled connecting sections is also favored if the guide areas of the fixing plate are only very short.

- the bores in the fixing plate are provided in at least two rows parallel to the holding body, that the row of bores closer to the holding body has guide tubes which are dimensioned lower than the guide tubes of the more distant row of bores.
- This grading of the length of the guide tubes enables them to grasp the angled sections of the contact elements close to the point at which these elements are bent thus ensure optimum straight guidance of the angled sections.
- the tubes are each provided with a funnel-shaped insertion bevel on the inside at their free end.
- This configuration of the tube ends facilitates the threading of the angled connection sections into the tubes of the fixing plate particularly when the numerous angled connection sections of a multi-pin plug connector have to be inserted into the guide tubes.
- contact elements 2 are fixed in a strip-shaped two-part holding body made of insulating material.
- the contact members 2 are designed as contact pins 4 projecting parallel from the holding body 1.
- the contact members 2 form wire-shaped connecting elements 6, which can be inserted into the grid bores of a printed circuit board with angled connecting sections 7 running at right angles to the connecting pins 4.
- a fixing plate 8 is provided.
- the fixing plate 8 is elastically bendable and can thus be fitted with its ends 9 in holding grooves 10 which are incorporated in the lugs 11 of the holding body 1.

At the free end of the guide tubes, they are provided with a funnel-shaped insertion chamfer 13 in order to thread the free ends of the angled connecting sections 7 into the bores of the tubes to facilitate.
- the tubes 12 of a row of tubes closer to the holding body 1 are dimensioned lower than the tubes 12 of a row of tubes more distant from the holding body 1.
- the longer angled connecting sections 7 of an upper row of contact members of the holding body 1 are gripped by a longer guide area than the shorter angled connecting sections 7 of a lower row of contact members.
- the guide area thus created which is adapted to the respective length of the angled connecting section 7, reliably prevents an undesired inclination of the angled connecting sections 7 and also prevents the angled sections 7 from jumping out of the respective guide areas.
