Claims (3)

1. Procédé de production de couches superficielles dures, résistantes à l'usure, sur un matériau métallique, par exemple sur un matériau ferreux, après un traitement thermochimique de brève durée, caractérisé en ce qu'il consiste à déposer un composé sur la surface à durcir, et à le décomposer par un choc énergétique avec libération d'un élément qui diffuse dans la surface à durcir.
2. Procédé suivant la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce qu'il consiste à utiliser, comme élément de diffusion, par exemple du bore ou de l'azote.
3. Procédé suivant la revendication 2, caractérisé en ce qu'il consiste à se servir, comme source d'énergie pour un choc énergétique, par exemple des faisceaux laser et des faisceaux d'électrons, ou à obtenir un chauffage de brève durée par un courant électrique.
