Abstract

Die Helmschale besteht aus einem vorderen, eine Sich­ töffnung (23) und einen Kinnschutz (30) aufweisenden Teil (22), und einem hinteren Teil (21), die um ein unmittelbar über der Sichtöffnung (23) angeordnetes Gelenk (25) ausei­ nanderklappbar sind. In der zusammengeklappten Lage sind die beiden Schalenteile (21, 22) durch einen Schnappver­ schluss gesichert. Auf dem die Sichtöffnung (23) umschlies­ senden Rand des vorderen Schalenteils (22) sitzt ein Stauluft­ stutzen (29). An der Helminnenseite ist ein Dichtungspolster (31, 33) befestigt, das um das Gesicht und unter dem Unterkiefer des Helmträgers hindurch verläuft.
Die während der Fahrt in den Stauluftstutzen (29) einströmende Luft wird in diesem und dem mit diesem kommunizierenden Raum zwischen vorderem Schalenteil (22), Gesicht und Dichtungspolster (31, 33) gestaut. Dadurch wird das Eindringen von Staub, Regentropfen, Insekten usw. verhindert und eine einwandfreie Sicht gewährleistet, ohne dass eine Schutzscheibe erforderlich wäre, die bei Regen, Schnee und infolge Beschlagens die Sicht stark beeinträchti­ gen kann.
