Claims (11)

1. Oprenset anti-opløseligt Flt-1 (sFlt-1)-antistof eller sFlt-1-antigenbindende fragment deraf, som er i stand til at blokere binding af VEGF eller PIGF, til anvendelse til behandling eller forebyggelse af præeklampsi hos et individ.
2. Anti-sFlt-1-antistof eller sFlt-1-antigenbindende fragment deraf til anvendelse ifølge krav 1, hvor a) antistoffet kompetitivt hæmmer bindingen af vaskulær endotelvækstfaktor (VEGF) eller placental vækstfaktor (PIGF) til sFlt-1, eller b) antistoffet binder sig til sFlt-1 og ikke binder sig til Flt-1.
3. Anti-sFlt-1-antistof eller sFlt-1-antigenbindende fragment deraf til anvendelse ifølge krav 1 eller 2, hvor antistoffet er et monoklonalt antistof, et kimært antistof, et humant antistof eller et humaniseret antistof.
4. Anti-sFlt-1-antistof eller sFlt-1-antigenbindende fragment til anvendelse ifølge krav 1 eller 2, hvor det antigenbindende fragment er et Fv-, Fab-, Fab'-, F(ab')2- fragment eller scFv.
5. Anti-sFlt-1-antistof eller sFlt-1-antigenbindende fragment deraf til anvendelse ifølge et hvilket som helst af kravene 1-4, hvor anvendelsen endvidere omfatter anvendelse af et antihypertensivum.
6. Anti-sFlt-1-antistof eller sFlt-1-antigenbindende fragment deraf til anvendelse ifølge krav 5, hvor nævnte antihypertensivum er valgt fra gruppen bestående af methyldopa, hydralazinhydrochlorid, labetalol, adenosin, nifedipin, minoxidil og magnesiumsulfat.
7. Anti-sFlt-1-antistof eller sFlt-1-antigenbindende fragment deraf til anvendelse ifølge et hvilket som helst af kravene 1-6, hvor individet er en gravid kvinde, en kvinde post-partum eller et ikke-humant dyr.
8. Anti-sFlt-1-antistof eller sFlt-1-antigenbindende fragment deraf til anvendelse ifølge et hvilket som helst af kravene 1-7, hvor anti-sFlt-1-antistoffet eller det antigenbindende fragment deraf' foreligger i en dosering på fra ca. 0,01 til ca. 10 mg/kg af indidets vægt.
9. Anti-sFlt-1-antistof eller sFlt-1-antigenbindende fragment deraf til anvendelse ifølge et hvilket som helst af kravene 1-8, hvor præeklampsien er kendetegnet ved forøgede ekspressionsniveauer af sFlt-1-polypeptid eller sFlt-1-nukleinsyre i forhold til en normal referenceprøve eller et normalt referenceniveau.
10. Anti-sFlt-1-antistof eller sFlt-1-antigenbindende fragment deraf til anvendelse ifølge et hvilket som helst af de foregående krav, hvor behandlingen eller forebyggelsen endvidere omfatter a) hæmning af bindingen af VEGF eller PIGF til et sFlt-1-polypeptid hos et individ, der har præeklampsi, hvor anti-sFlt-antistoffet eller det sFlt-1-antigenbindende fragment deraf kompetitivt hæmmer bindingen af VEGF eller PIGF til sFlt-1, eller b) reduktion af niveauet eller den biologiske aktivitet af sFlt-1-polypeptid hos et individ, der har præeklampsi eller er tilbøjelig til at udvikle præeklampsi.
11. Anvendelse af et oprenset anti-opløseligt Flt-1 (sFlt-1)-antistof eller et sFlt-1-antigenbindende fragment deraf, som er i stand til at blokere binding af VEGF eller PIGF, til fremstilling af et lægemiddel til anvendelse til behandling eller forebyggelse af præeklampsi hos et individ.
