Description
- Diese Erfindung betrifft Schmieröle. Insbesondere betrifft diese Erfindung schützende Öle für eine Ausrüstung mit Kupferlegierungsbestandteilen, wie in Polyethylenkompressoren.
- Bisher war es auf dem Gebiet der Schmiertechnik gut bekannt, weiße Mineralölschmiermittel für Kompressoren bereitzustellen, wie offenbart in W. A. Potanina, E. N. Marcheva, E. N. Sidlyaronok, S. K. Bogdanov, T. P. Ponomareva "NKM-40 napthenic compressor oil used in the production of polyethylene". Khim. Technol. Topliv Masel, Nr. 1 (1978) 22 bis 23; und E. N. Marcheva, W. A. Potanina, G. T. Fuks, "Production of NKM-40 White Oil Compressor Lubricant form the West Siberian Crudes", Khim. Technol. Topliv Masel, Nr. 7 (1984) 11 bis 12.
- Es war im Stand der Technik auch bekannt, bestimmte Mengen von Ölsäure in weißem Mineralöl als Reibkraftminderer bereitzustellen, wie offenbart in dem britischen Patent mit der Nummer GB 1 338 505. Das kontinuierliche oder fortgesetzte Vorliegen von Ölsäure in den Mischungen, die verwendet wurden für die Schmierung von auf Kupfer basierenden Legierungsteilen verursacht nicht notwendigen chemischen Verschleiß. D.h. Ölsäure stellte gute Schmierung bereit, aber ihre fortgesetzte Gegenwart verursachte nicht notwendigen chemischen Verschleiß wegen ihrer anhaltenden Reaktivität mit einer Kupfer enthaltenden Legierung.
- Andere Schmierzusammensetzungen verwendeten bestimmte Phosphate und Oleate als Anti-Verschleiß-Additive, wie offenbart in dem US Patent mit der Nummer
US 3 970 570 von Pratt et al. - Wisotsky offenbart in dem US Patent mit der Nummer
US 4 505 829 die Verwendung von Glycerinmonooleat und Glycerindioleat als stabilisierende Additive für Schmieröl. Waldmann offenbart in dem US Patent mit der NummerUS 3 235 449 ebenfalls die Verwendung von Teilestern von Glycerinen für eine Schaumstabilisierung in Schmiermitteln oder Schmierstoffen. - Das britische Patent
GB 1 340 804 - Culpon offenbart in dem US Patent mit der Nummer
US 5 156 759 die Verwendung von synthetischen Di- und Tripolyolestern als Lösungsvermittler für andere Additive in Polyalphaolefinbasisöl oder -grundstofföl. - Die DE A-42 293 A3 stellt eine Zusammensetzung bereit, die die Verwendung von einem metallbindenden Deaktivator benötigt. In der
US 4 634 469 A wird eine Trenn-Zusammensetzung zur Verwendung als ein Antiklebe- und Trennmittel bereitgestellt. Die Zusammensetzung gemäß diesem Dokument wird verwendet bei hohen Temperaturen. Außerdem benötigt es die Verwendung von einem Fettöl, wie Ricinusöl, und einen Reibungshemmer oder Reibungsinhibitor für Kupfer. - In der Technik, die die Schmierung von einer Ausrüstung betrifft von sich auf Kupfer erstreckenden Legierungsoberflächen, gab es das spezielle Problem einer chemischen Abnutzung oder einem chemischen Verschleiß, der verursacht wurde durch einen Ölsäure-Reibkraftminderer. Die Technik wünschte oder verlangte daher ein Öl, das nicht nur verbesserte Reibungseigenschaften, sondern auch einen hohen Grad an Schutz gegen chemische Abnutzung oder Verschleiß einer Legierung auf Kupferbasis zeigt.
- Die
1 ist eine grafische Darstellung von dem FTIR-Spektrum, das die Absorption gegen die Wellenzahl (cm–1) für 3% GTO in Mineralöl in der Anfangsmischung (durchgezogene Linie) und unter Grenzbedingungen (gepunktete Linie) zeigt, wobei der zweite Peak oder die zweite Absorptionsbande der gepunkteten Linie die Gegenwart von Ölsäure zeigt. - Die Erfindung betrifft ein Schmieröl, umfassend ein Mineralöl und Glycerintrioleat als ein in Öl löslicher Triolester-Reibkraftverminderer, der eine auf eine Schmierungsbedingung antwortende Aktivität aufweist, und ein Antioxidationsmittel, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Reibkraftminderer chemisch nicht reaktionsfähig ist mit einer auf Kupfer basierenden Metalloberfläche und hydrodynamischen oder quasi-hydrodynamischen Bedingungen, aber reaktionsfähig ist mit der auf Kupfer basierenden Metalloberfläche unter Grenzreibungsbedingungen, wobei das Glycerintrioleat (GTO) in einer Menge von 0,25 bis 30 Gew.-% vorliegt, und vorzugsweise 0,5 bis 10 Gew.-%, und ein wirksamster Reibkraftminderer ist, der nicht reaktionsfähig ist mit den auf Kupfer basierenden Legierungen.
- Es wurde nun gefunden, dass Gylcerintrioleat die Reibungs- und Antiverschleiß- oder Antiabnutzungseigenschaften der Kompressorölmischung verbessert, wobei es chemisch nicht mit der auf Kupfer basierenden Legierung reagiert, was unter hydrodynamischen Schmierbedingungen nicht notwendig ist. Außerdem wurde unter Grenzreibungsbedingungen, wo der chemische Angriff benötigt wird, unerwarterweise gefunden, dass sich Glycerintrioleat zersetzt und Ölsäure freisetzt (s. FTIR Spektrum in der
1 ). Freigesetzte Ölsäure reagiert mit der Metalloberfläche und erzeugt Metallseifen mit wünschenswerten Schereigenschaften und Schmelzpunkten, was dadurch die Schmierung in Grenzsituationen gewährleistet. - Dies ist der Grund, warum es vorteilhaft ist, dass die Mischung Glycerintrioleat enthält, das hervorragenden Schutz bei hydrodynamischen und quasi-hydrodynamischen Bedingungen ergibt, ohne chemisch mit einer auf Kupfer basierenden Legierung zu reagieren, und in dem Fall eines Bedarfs (d.h. wenn Spitzen- oder Blitztemperaturen sich in Grenzsituationen entwickeln) Ölsäure freisetzt oder freisetzen wird, die umgekehrt Schutz bereitstellt aufgrund ihrer Reaktivität mit der Metalloberfläche.
- Die vorliegende Erfindung ist ferner auf eine Kombination gerichtet, einer Kupfermetalllegierungsschmierungsoberfläche, die Gegenstand von Grenzreibungsbedingungen sein kann; und einem Schmieröl, wie oben definiert, das nicht reaktionsfähig ist mit der Kupferlegierungsmetalloberfläche außer unter den Grenzbedingungen.
- Ferner ist die vorliegende Erfindung auf ein Verfahren zur Schmierung einer Kupferlegierungsoberfläche gerichtet, umfassend ein Bereitstellen einer Kupferlegierungsoberfläche zur Schmierung; Schmieren der Oberfläche mit einem Öl, wie oben definiert; und wobei das Öl die Legierung nicht angreift unter hydrodynamischen oder quasi-hydrodynamischen Bedingungen, aber einen Angriff der Legierung unter Grenzreibungsbedingungen bewirkt.
- Die vorliegende Erfindung, wie oben beschrieben, stellt ein Öl bereit, das chemisch nicht reagiert mit einer Kupferlegierung unter hydrodynamischen Bedingungen; ein Öl wie zuvor beschrieben, das verbesserten Verschleißschutz oder Abnutzungsschutz zeigt; ein Öl mit verbesserter Schmierung und be trächtlich besserem korrosiven Abnutzungsschutz oder Schutz gegen Korrosionsverschleiß; ein Öl in Kombination mit einer Ausrüstung, die auf Kupfer basierende Legierungsteile aufweist; ein Verfahren zur Schmierung einer Oberfläche einer Legierung auf Kupferbasis; und ein Verfahren, das verbesserte Schmierung unter Grenzbedingungen ergibt.
- Unter einem Gesichtspunkt ist die vorliegende Erfindung ein Schmieröl, das einen Reibkraftminderer einschließt, wobei der Reibkraftminderer chemisch nicht mit der auf Kupfer basierenden Legierung unter hydrodynamischen oder quasi-hydrodynamischen Bedingungen reagiert, aber reaktionsfähig wird unter Grenzbedingungen, und das Vorliegen von Schmierung während der Grenzbedingungen gewährleistet. Das heißt, die Aktivität oder Wirksamkeit des Öls antwortet speziell auf die speziellen Schmierungsbedingungen.
- Der Begriff "auf Kupfer basierende Legierung" oder "Kupferlegierung", wie hierin verwendet, soll eine beliebige Legierung bedeuten, die Kupfer einschließt, die ohne Einschränkung Bronze, Messing, Kondensationsrohrmessing (admiralty metal), Muntz-Metall und dergleichen einschließt.
- Die Ölzusammensetzung der vorliegenden Erfindung kann zusätzlich die Viskosität aufbauende Mittel oder Vikositätsbilder, Detergentien, Dispergiermittel, Antioxidantien, EP-Additive und Korrosionsschutzadditive oder Antikorrosionsadditive enthalten, wie im Folgenden vollständig diskutiert werden wird.
- Eine bevorzugte spezielle Ausführungsform der vorliegenden Erfindung ist wie folgt:
Mineralöl 96,8% Glycerintrioleat 3,0% Phosphatester (EP-Additiv) 0,1% Phenolisches Antioxidationsmittel 0,1% - Der Reibkraftminderer, der brauchbar ist bei der vorliegenden Erfindung ist Glycerintrioleat (GTO), das, wenn es Grenzbedingungen unterworfen wird, Ölsäure freisetzt, und das diese Bildung von Ölsäure in situ ziemlich wirkungsvoll ist bei der Bereitstellung der erforderlichen Schmierung.
- Bedeutend ist, dass das Glycerintrioleat nicht nur leicht und vollständig mischbar ist mit dem Basisöl oder Grundstofföl, sondern, dass das Gemisch oder die Mischung auch stabil ist während der Lagerung im Gegensatz zu den Teilestern, Mono- und Dioleaten, die sich beim Stehen trennen und daher nicht betriebsbereit oder betriebsfähig sind.
- Glycerintrioleat (GTO) in Öl stellt ein betriebsbereites oder betriebsfähiges Schmieröl bereit über einen weiten Bereich von Betriebsbedingungen, die hydrodynamische, quasi-hydrodynamische und Grenzbedingungen einschließen.
- Geeignete Basisöle oder Grundstofföle, die brauchbar sind bei der vorliegenden Erfindung sind die Mineralöle, insbesondere Paraffinöle und naphthenische Öle. Am meisten bevorzugt für die Schmiermittel oder Schmierstoffe mit Nahrungsmittelqualität sind die weißen Mineralöle. Die weißen Mineralöle, die eingesetzt werden in den Zusammensetzungen der Erfindung können von der Art sein, die abgeleitet sind von herkömmlichen Raffiniertechniken aus Rohquellen oder Rohölquellen, wie Rohparaffinen, Rohnaphthenderivaten oder gemischten Basisrohölen oder Stoffen oder gemischten Grundmittelölen oder Stoffen und werden herkömmlicherweise eingesetzt in einer Menge von 20 bis 99,75 Gew.-% der Zusammensetzungen. Geeignete weiße Mineralöle sind solche von einem Grad hoher Qualität, wie angegeben durch einen unsulfonierbaren Rückstand (ASTM D-483-63) von mindestens 95%. Vorzugsweise sind die weißen Mineralöle, die eingesetzt werden, von der Sorte, die einen unsulfonierbaren Rückstand aufweisen von der Größenordnung von 99% bis 100%. Die Weißöle, die in den Zusammensetzungen gemäß der Erfindung eingesetzt werden, sollten vorzugsweise gute Farbe zeigen und sollten im Allgemeinen vollständig raffinierte weiße Mineralöle sein. Solche Öle sind z.B. solche, die eine wasserweiße Farbe von +30 Saybolt aufweisen und zusätzlich vorzugsweise im Wesentlichen frei sind von verkohlbaren oder verkokbaren Substanzen und geringe Absorption von ultraviolettem Licht zeigen bei den Wellenlängen von 2750, 2950 und 3000 Ångström (ASTM D-2008). Die Viskosität der weißen Mineralöle, die eingesetzt werden können bei den Schmiermittelzusammensetzungen der vorliegenden Erfindung liegt in dem Bereich von 4,2 bis 440,0 cSt bei 37,8°C (40 bis 2000 S.U.S bei 100°F) und vorzugsweise 13 bis 109,7 cSt (70 bis 500 S.U.S).
- Es wird gemäß der vorliegenden Erfindung auch ausgeführt oder ins Auge gefasst, polymere Viskositätsbilder oder polymere, die Viskosität aufbauende Mittel, bereitzustellen, wie Polybutene, Polymethacrylate, Polyacryle oder Polyacrylsäuren, Polyethylene und Polyvinylacetate. Die Polymere, die in den Zusammensetzungen gemäß der Erfindung eingesetzt werden, dienen sowohl als Viskositätsbilder oder die Viskosität aufbauende Mittel und Mittel zur Steigerung des Viskositätsindex und werden vorzugsweise eingesetzt in Mengen von 5 bis 50 Gew.-% der Zusammensetzung. Geeignete Polymere schließen solche ein, die vorzugsweise ein Molekulargewicht von zwischen 300 und 100000 aufweisen. Die Polymere, die in den Zusammensetzungen der vorliegenden Erfindung eingesetzt werden, sind solche, die mischbar sind mit dem Öl. Wo Weißöl das Basisöl oder Grundstofföl ist, ist ein Polybuten das bevorzugte Polymer.
- Ein breiter Bereich von Antioxidantien kann eingesetzt werden bei der vorliegenden Erfindung, wie z.B. Sulfide, Disulfide, Sulfoxide, Phosphite, Amine, Thiophosphate und phenolische Verbindungen, einschließlich Vitamin E.
- Die Antioxidantien, die eingesetzt werden bei der Schmierzusammensetzung der Erfindung, liegen vorzugsweise in Mengen vor von 0,01 bis 1,5 Gew.-% der Zusammensetzung. Phenolische Antioxidantien sind bevorzugt im Fall von Schmiermitteln von Nahrungsmittelqualität. Beispiele der Erfindung schließen 4-Methyl-2,6-di-tert.-butylphenol; 2,4-Di-tert.-butylphenol und 2,4,6-Tri-tertiärbutylphenol ein. Bevorzugte Antioxidantien sind ortho-Tertiäralkyl-substituierte Phenole, wie 4-Methyl-2,6-di-tert.-butylphenol.
- Es wird gemäß dieser Erfindung auch ins Auge gefasst, sehr begrenzte Mengen an Detergentien bereitzustellen in Kombination mit den vollständig veresterten Säuren, die Reibkraftminderer freisetzen. Die Detergentien oder Tenside, wenn sie vorliegen, umfassen typischerweise Mengen von 0,5 bis 1,5 Gew.-%.
- Geeignete Detergentien schließen die Fettsäuren und ihre Seifen, Sulfonate, Phosphate und Thiophosphonate und alkylsubstituierte Salicylate ein.
- Es wird gemäß dieser Erfindung auch ins Auge gefasst, ein Schmiermittel bereitzustellen, das Extrem Druck (EP (extreme pressure))-Additive enthält. Ein weiter Bereich von EP-Additiven werden gemäß der Erfindung ins Auge gefasst. Die bevorzugten EP-Additive schließen die Phosphate ein, wie die Triarylphosphate, oder wenn der Schmierstoff oder das Schmiermittel Nahrungsmittelqualität aufweisen muss, die phophatierten Glyceride. Die Menge von einem beliebigen besonderen EP-Additiv, die vorliegen sollte für wirksame Ergebnisse kann leicht bestimmt werden, wenn das verwendete EP-Additiv phosphatiertes Glycerid ist, ist die Menge, die im Allgemeinen vorliegt, eine wirksame Menge von 0,1 bis 0,5 Gew.-%.
- Es wird gemäß der vorliegenden Erfindung auch ins Auge gefasst, geringe Mengen von einem Dispergiermittel einzuverleiben, wie im Wege von z.B. Aminsalzen von organischen Säuren mit hohem Molekulargewicht, wie Petroleumsulfonsäuren, phosphororganische Säuren und Gemische davon. Das Dispergiermittel braucht nur vorliegen in wirksamen Mengen von etwa 1,5 Gew.-%.
- Beispiele
- Die vorliegenden Gemische oder Mischungen werden hergestellt nach herkömmlichen Mischtechniken:
Mischung Zusammensetzung (Gew.-%) I 100% Mineralöl II 87,2% Mineralöl 3,0% Ölsäure 9,7% polymeres die Viskosität aufbauendes Mittel 0,1% phenolisches Antioxidationsmittel III 99,5% Mineralöl 0,5% Glycerintrioleat IV 97% Mineralöl 3% Glycerintrioleat V 96,8% Mineralöl 3% Glycerintrioleat 0,1% EP-Additiv 0,1% phenolisches Antioxidationsmittel - Die Gemische I und II sind typische Zusammensetzungen aus dem Stand der Technik.
- Die Gemische III bis V sind Zusammensetzungen, die die vorliegende Erfindung widerspiegelt.
- Die Gemische I bis V wurden dem Roxanna Vier-Kugel-Test (1 Wolframcarbid-Kugel und 3 Bronzescheiben) unter verschiedenen Lasten von 5 kg bis 180 kg bei 250°F bei 600 U/min über 30 min un terworfen, und die Ergebnisse der Kerbendurchmesser (scar diameter)-Messungen sind in der Tabelle I berichtet.
- Das Gemisch IV und bestimmte Kontrollmischungen wurden dem zuvor beschriebenen Roxanna Vier-Kugel-Test unterworfen, und die Kerbendurchmesserergebnisse werden in der Tabelle II berichtet.
- Der mittlere Koeffizient der Reibung für jedes der Gemische I bis V wurde berechnet, basierend auf den Messungen der Reibungskraft während der Läufe der Vier-Kugel-Tests (Bedingungen wie oben) und wird in der Tabelle III berichtet.
- Die Tabelle I zeigt die beträchtliche Verbesserung bei dem Verschleißschutz durch den Einsatz von Glycerintrioleat als Reibkraftverminderer. Diesbezüglich sind besonders zu vergleichen die Ergebnisse des Gemischs III mit solchen der Gemische I und II, und die dramatische Reduzierung im Kerbdurchmesser (scar diameter) als Ergebnis des Vorliegens von nur 0,5% Glycerintrioleat.
- Die Tabelle II zeigt den verbesserten Verschleißschutz der sich ergibt durch das Additiv, Glycerintrioleat, einer vollständig veresterten Verbindung, im Vergleich zu den Teilestern und im Vergleich zu Ölsäure.
- Die Tabelle III zeigt eine beträchtliche Verringerung des Reibungskoeffizienten bei der Zugabe von nur 0,5% GTO (vgl. Gemische I und III).
- Es wurde ein Schmieröl gezeigt, das verbesserten Verschleißschutz ergibt.
- Ein breiter Bereich von Anwendungen ist nützlich gemäß der vorliegenden Erfindung. Eine bevorzugte Anwendung ist die Verwendung von dem Öl als Schmiermittel oder Schmierstoff für Polyethylenkompressoren. Bei dieser speziellen Anwendung ist Weißöl das bevorzugte Basisöl oder Grundstofföl, und die Verwendung von GTO mit begrenzten Mengen von Ölsäure wird auch ins Auge gefasst oder ausgeführt.
- Andere Anwendungen des Schmieröls der vorliegenden Erfindung sind den Leuten vom Fach ersichtlich.
Claims (16)
- Schmieröl, umfassend Mineralöl und Glycerintrioleat als ein in Öl löslicher Triolester-Reibkraftminderer, der eine auf eine Schmierungsbedingung antwortende Aktivität aufweist, und ein Antioxidationsmittel, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Reibkraftminderer chemisch nicht reaktionsfähig ist mit einer auf Kupfer basierenden Metalloberfläche unter hydrodynamischen oder quasi-hydrodynamischen Bedingungen, aber reaktionsfähig ist mit der auf Kupfer basierenden Metalloberfläche unter Grenzreibungsbedingungen, wobei das Glycerintrioleat in einer Menge von etwa 0,25 bis 30 Gew.-% vorliegt.
- Öl nach Anspruch 1, wobei das Öl in einer Menge von 20 bis 99,5 Gew.-% vorliegt.
- Öl nach Anspruch 2, das ferner ein die Viskosität aufbauendes Mittel umfasst.
- Öl nach Anspruch 3, das ferner ein EP-Additiv umfasst.
- Öl nach Anspruch 1, wobei das Glycerintrioleat in einer Menge von etwa 0,5 bis 10 Gew.-% vorliegt.
- Öl nach Anspruch 5, das ferner etwa 0,5 bis 1,5 Gew.-% an Ölsäure umfasst.
- Kombination von einer Kupfermetalllegierungsschmierungsoberfläche, die Grenzreibungsbedingungen unterworfen werden kann und einem Schmieröl nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 6.
- Kombination nach Anspruch 7, wobei das Mineralöl ein Weißöl umfasst.
- Kombination nach Anspruch 7, die ferner ein polymeres dien Viskosität aufbauendes Mittel umfasst.
- Kombination nach Anspruch 9, die ferner ein phenolisches Antioxidationsmittel umfasst.
- Kombination nach Anspruch 10, die ferner ein EP-Additiv umfasst.
- Kombination nach Anspruch 7, wobei das Öl umfasst: Mineralöl zu etwa 96 Gew.-%, Glycerintrioleat zu etwa 3 Gew.-%, EP-Additiv zu etwa 0,1 Gew.-% und ein Antioxidationsmittel zu etwa 0,1 Gew.-%.
- Verfahren zur Schmierung einer Kupferlegierungsoberfläche, umfassend a) ein Bereitstellen einer Kupferlegierungsoberfläche zur Schmierung; b) ein Schmieren der Oberfläche mit einem Öl gemäß einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 6; c) wobei das Öl die Legierung nicht angreift unter hydrodynamischen oder quasi-hydrodynamischen Bedingungen, aber einen Angriff der Legierung unter Grenzreibungsbedingungen bewirkt.
- Verfahren nach Anspruch 13, wobei das Mineralöl vorliegt in einer Menge von etwa 20 bis 99,75 Gew.-%.
- Verfahren nach Anspruch 14, das ferner ein Zugeben von etwa 0,5 bis 1,5% Ölsäure zu dem Öl umfasst.
- Verwendung des Schmieröls nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 6 zur Schmierung von auf Kupfer basierenden Metalloberflächen in Polyethylenkompressoren.
