Description

Gegenstand der Erfindung ist die Verwendung einer Schmierstoffes für wartungsfreie Gelenkwellen.
Aus der deutschen Offenlegungsschrift 195 30 504 ist bereits ein Schmierfett bekannt, das auch bei hoher Temperaturbelastung in Gleichlaufgelenken angewendet werden kann, mit geringem Aufwand herstellbar ist und als permanente Festschmierstoffüllung zu einer erhöhten Lebensdauer von Gleichlaufgelenken führt. Es enthält als Basis mineralische und/oder synthetische Öle, Harnstoff-Verbindungen als Verdicker und Molybdänsulfid als dispergierten Festschmierstoff sowie zusätzlich Graphit, Polytetrafluorethylen und wenigstens eine molybdänorganische Verbindung. Weiterhin ist aus der internationalen Patentanmeldung WO 97/03152 die Verwendung von Molybdändisulfid, Zinknaphthenat und einem oder mehreren Metalldithiophosphaten als eine Reibung vermindernde Additivmischung in Schmierölen auf Basis eines mineralischen und/oder synthetischen Öles bekannt. Darüberhinaus ist aus der internationalen Patentanmeldung WO 94/11470 ein Lithiumseifen enthaltendes Schmierfett bekannt, dem Dithiocarbamate oder Dithiophosphate des Molybdäns im Gemisch mit Dithiocarbamaten oder Dithiophosphaten des Wismuts, des Bleis, des Antimons und anderer Schwermetalle bei gleichzeitiger Anwesenheit unterschiedlicher organischer Schwefelverbindungen, unter denen sich auch Thiadiazole befinden, zugesetzt sind. Außerdem sind in den dort beschriebenen Schmierölen organische Phosphate, Phosphine, Phosphonate oder Phosphite enthalten, die für die Verbesserung der Eigenschaften des Schmierstoffes als ganz entscheidend angesehen werden. Derartige Schmierstoffe sind durch einen Gehalt an anorganischem Molybdändisulfid gekennzeichnet und eignen sich für homokinetische Gleichlaufgelenke, geben aber beim Einsatz in Kreuzgelenkwellen keine guten Leistungen.
Es besteht deshalb ein Bedarf bei der Entwicklung von wartungsfreien Kreuzgelenkwellen, insbesondere Kreuzgelenkgarnituren für schwere Nutzfahrzeuge durch eine Verbesserung der Eigenschaften von Schmierstoffen die Laufleistung, die Wirtschaftlichkeit und die Umweltverträglichkeit von Teilen der Nutzfahrzeuge zu verbessern.
Erfindungsgemäß wird diese Aufgabe durch die Verwendung einer Schmierstoffes nach Anspruch 1 gelöst.
Für den Schmierstoff eignen sich als Basis Mineralöle und/oder synthetische Kohlenwasserstofföle. Bevorzugt wird ein naphthenisches Solventraffinat, das durch eine Kombination von Naphthenbasismineralöl mit einem synthetischen Kohlwasserstofföl in einem Verhältnis von 1:3 bis 1:5 erhalten wird. Ebenso ist ein paraffinisches Solventraffinat geeignet, das eine Mischung eines Paraffinbasismineralöls mit einem synthetischen Kohlenwasserstofföl in einem Verhältnis von 1:3 bis 1:5 ist und eine Viskosität von etwa 100 bis 150 Centistoke bei 40°C aufweist.
Der Schmierstoff enthält als Verdicker eine Komplexe Lithiumseife, die aus einer Mischung von einer gesättigten oder ungesättigten, aliphatischen Mono- oder Dicarbonsäure mit 10 bis 24, vorzugsweise 16 bis 18 Kohlenstoffatomen und anderer Säuren gebildet wird. Vor allem Mischungen des Lithiumsalzes der 12-Hydroxstearinsäure mit den Lithiumsalzen der Azelainsäure, der Sebacinsäure oder der Borsäure haben als Verdickungsmittel für Schmierstoffe bereits vielfache Verwendung gefunden, weil sie bei höheren Temperaturen als die einfachen Lithiumseifen eingesetzt werden können.
Auch die Lithiumsalze von aliphatischen, Mono- oder Dicarbonsäuren haben sich als Verdicker von Schmierstoffen besonders bewährt. Das Lithiumsalz wird dem Basisfett in einer Menge von 5 bis 20 Gewichtsprozent, bezogen auf die Menge des Basisfetts zugegeben.
Zum Erreichen eines während des Betriebes möglichst flachen Viskositäts-Temperatur-Verlaufes werden dem Basisfett ein oder mehrere Stellöle zugegeben, in welchen die Additive bereits gelöst sein können. Als Stellöle sind Olefincopolymere, Polybutene, Polyolester, Polyalfaolefine, Perfluorpolyether, Polysiloxane und hydrierte Dien-Styrol-Copolymere geeignet. Sie werden dem Basisfett im allgemeinen in einer Menge von 2 bis 40 Gewichtsprozent, bezogen auf die Gesamtmenge des Schmierstoffes zugegeben.
Um den Schmierstoff gegen die hohen thermischen und mechanischen Beanspruchungen zu stabilisieren, die bei seiner Anwendung in der Lagerung des Zapfenkreuzes auftreten, müssen ihm Additive zugesetzt werden. Als Antioxydantien eignen sich hierfür sterisch gehinderte Phenole und Amine, zum Beispiel Phenyl-α-naphthylamine.
Die richtigen Eigenschaften des Schmierstoffes werden zudem dadurch erreicht, daß er neben anderen Additiven Dithiocarbamate oder Dithiophosphate des Molybdäns, in Kombination mit einem Thiadiazol-Derivat enthält. Molybdän-dithiophosphate und Molybdändithiocarbamate haben sich ganz besonders bewährt. Werden derartige Molybdänverbindungen zusammen mit einem 1-Thia-3,4-diazol oder seinem schwefelverbrückten Dimeren eingesetzt, dann werden die Schmiereigenschaften sowohl bei hohen Temperaturen als auch bei mechanischen Belastungen auf dauerhafte Weise so stark verbessert, daß die Schmierung der Zapfengarnituren beim Hersteller für die ganze Lebensdauer des Nutzfahrzeuges ausreicht.
Weitere Verbesserung lassen sich dadurch erreichen, daß man ein Korrosionsschutzmittel wie N-Acyl-Sarkosin und/oder einen Hochdruckzusatz wie Methylen-bis(dibutyl-dithio-carbamat) dem Schmierstoff zusetzt. Insgesamt soll die Menge der zuzusetzenden Additive in einem Mengenbereich von 2 bis 10 Gewichtsprozent, bezogen auf den gesamten Schmierstoff, liegen.
Die Herstellung des Schmierstoffes erfolgt so, daß die durch Umsetzung von Lithiumhydroxyd mit einer aliphatischen Mono- oder Dicarbonsäure, hergestellten Lithiumsalze in der Basis gelöst oder suspendiert werden und ein Teil der Additive dem Stellöl zugegeben wird. Diese beiden Mischungen werden dann bei erhöhter Temperatur zwischen 80 bis 240°C in einer Rühr- oder Mischvorrichtung miteinander vermischt. Hochdruckhomogenisatoren haben sich für die Herstellung des Schmierstoffes mit einer gleichmäßigen und homogenen Verteilung seiner Inhaltsstoffe ganz besonders bewährt. Die temperaturempfindlichen Additive werden erst vor dem Homogenisieren zugegeben.
Die folgenden Beispiel zeigen Rezepturen des Schmierstoffes, die sich zur Lebensdauerschmierung von Zapfenkreuzlagerungen von Kreuzgelenken als hervorragend geeignet erwiesen haben:

Es wurde ein erfindungsgemäßer Schmierstoff mit folgender allgemeiner Zusammensetzung hergestellt:

Beispiel 3
Zur Beurteilung der Leistungsfähigkeit der erfindungsgemäßen Schmierstoffe wurde der Schmierstoff gemäß der Rezeptur von Beispiel 1 einem Lebensdauerausfalltest an Kreuzgelenken unterworfen. Dabei wurden 8 Kreuzgelenke mit dem erfindungsgemäßen Schmierstoff von Beispiel 1 und 6 Kreuzgelenke mit einem Standardschmierstoff folgender Zusammensetzung verglichen:

Die Mischung dieser Additive ist in dem Standardschmierstoff in einer Menge von 9 Gewichtsprozent enthalten.
Der vorstehend genannte Standardschmierstoff und der Schmierstoff gemäß Beispiel 1 ergaben bei einer Auswertung der Lebensdauereinzelwerte mittels Weibull-Verteilung (VDA: Qualitätskontrolle der Automobilindustrie: Zuverlässigkeitssicherung bei Automobilherstellern und Lieferanten, Verfahren und Beispiele; Verband der Automobilindustrie e.V. (VDA), Westendstraße 61, Frankfurt am Main, 1976) eine deutlich verbesserte Lebensdauer beim Einsatz des Schmierstoffes. Die Kreuzgelenke wurden bei der Durchführung des Versuches einer Umgebungstemperatur von 80°C ausgesetzt. Als Ausfall wurde ein Überschreiten der Außentemperatur von 100°C, gemessen am Boden der Lagerbüchse der Zapfenkreuzgarnitur des Kreuzgelenkes, gewertet. Bei Verwendung des Schmierstoffes wurden deutlich höhere B10- und B63,2-Werte erzielt.

Hierbei beschreibt der B10-Wert für die geprüften Gelenke die ermittelte Lebensdauer, bei der 90% der Gelenke noch nicht ausgefallen sind. Analog beschreibt der B63,2-Wert die ermittelte Lebensdauer, bei der 36,8% der Kreuzgelenke noch nicht ausgefallen sind.
Fig. 1 zeigt die grafische Darstellung dieses Versuches. Es ist ersichtlich, daß die Laufzeit bei Verwendung des Schmierstoffes deutlich höher ist als bei der Verwendung des Standard-Schmierstoffes, wobei die ausfallfreie Zeit gemäß Tabelle hinzuaddiert werden muß. Diese ist in dem Diagramm als t0 im Kästchen unten rechts nochmals aufgeführt.

Claims (3)

  1. Verwendung eines Schmierstoffes für wartungsfreie Kreuzgelenkwellen, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass er
    a) ein naphthenisches oder paraffinisches Solventraffinat einzeln oder im Gemisch als Basisfett,
    b) 5-20 Gew.-%, bezogen auf die Menge des Basisfetts, von einer gesättigten oder ungesättigten, aliphatischen Mono- oder Dicarbonsäure mit 10 bis 24 Kohlenstoffatomen einer komplexe Lithiumseife, die aus einer Mischung und anderer Säuren gebildet wird,
    c) 2-40 Gew.-%, bezogen auf die Gesamtmenge des Schmierstoffes mehrerer Stellöle aus der Gruppe der Olefincopolymeren des Polybutenes, eines Polyolesters eines Polyalphaolefins eines Perfluorpolyethers, eines Polysiloxans oder eines hydrierten Dien-Styrol-Copolymeren.
    d) ein Molybdän-dithiocarbamat oder -dithio-phosphat zusammen mit einem Thiadiazol-Derivat
    und weitere, in Schmierstoffen üblicherweise eingesetzte Oxidations-, Korrosionsschutz- und Hochdruckadditive enthält.
  2. Verwendung eines Schmierstoffes nach den Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass er als weitere Additive aminische und/oder phenolische Antioxidantien enthält.
  3. Verwendung eines Schmierstoffes nach den Anspruch 1 bis 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass er als weiteres Additiv N-Acylsarkosin als Korrosionsschutzmittel enthält.
